Chapter 8

Chapter 8

"Take care of my brother-in-law, I'm going to talk to Master." Ye Zi put Xiao Shenmu on the ground, glanced at Luo Hengzhi, and went to Master's room.

"Brother-in-law, come with me, I'll let you play with some fun talismans." Little Shenmu enthusiastically reached out to Luo Hengzhi for a hug, then hugged Luo Hengzhi's neck tightly, pointing in the direction of his room in a childish voice.

Ye Zi knocked on Master Yunqing's door and went inside.

"Master, who wants Huo Zhongkui's soul to be scattered and unable to enter reincarnation? Who has the Huo family offended?" Ye Zi asked directly, getting straight to the point. "The other party's cultivation is not low. I wonder which sect or school they belong to. Can Master deduce it?"

"It cannot be deduced." Master Yunqing shook his head, clearly exhausted. "Be careful when going down the mountain in the future. This person's cultivation level is immeasurable."

"Master, you can't even figure out that person's identity?" Ye Zi was shocked that if her master couldn't figure it out, it meant that the person's cultivation was at least three levels higher than her master's.

My master's cultivation level is Nascent Soul. If it is three levels higher, then that person's cultivation level is at least Mahayana stage. There is actually a cultivator with such cultivation level hidden in this world!

How could this be? My master has been searching for a thousand years and has never seen any cultivator appear in the world. How could such a powerful being with such high cultivation suddenly appear and take action against an ordinary person who is powerless to even kill a chicken?

For Ye Zi, the gap between Foundation Establishment and Mahayana stages was an unimaginable insurmountable barrier!

Moreover, with such cultivation, one could easily transform the mortal world, so why would one need to hide in the shadows and plot to plunder the lives of mortals?

This makes one suspect that some kind of conspiracy is being plotted behind the scenes!

It is truly shameful to use one's extraordinary cultivation to plot against the lives of ordinary people!

Ye Zi gripped the sword in her hand tightly: "Disciple will be more careful in the future."

"Little Yezi, your junior brothers are still too young. If one day comes, take good care of them." Master Yunqing knew very well that he had no chance of winning against that person, but he would risk his old life to protect his disciples.

“Master, the people of Lingju Temple never fear death, and neither do my fellow disciples.” Ye Zi’s eyes were firm and fearless. “If what is meant to come cannot be avoided, then we will face it head-on!”

Upon hearing his disciple's boastful words, Master Yunqing suddenly laughed: "Not bad, you are a good disciple of your master. Your master is indeed being too cautious."

"Master, the mortal world may be about to face turmoil. Have you ever thought about restoring the Lingju Sect?" Ye Zi asked, glancing at the plaque on her master's desk.

Master Yunqing also looked at the golden plaque on the table. The three characters "Lingju Sect" were written with a powerful and domineering style, and they shone with spiritual light.

Master Yunqing felt as if he had returned to the sect a thousand years ago, where he and his fellow disciples spent carefree days studying and cultivating diligently. A smile appeared in Master Yunqing's eyes, and all the fatigue on his face disappeared.

"Master, please rest well!" Ye Zi understood from her master's expression, bowed, and prepared to leave.

"Little Ye Zi." Master Yunqing suddenly called out to Ye Zi.

Ye Zi turned to look at her master: "Master, is there anything else?"

"Luo Hengzhi," said Master Yunqing, "get along well with her!"

"Yes." Ye Zi said and turned to leave.

"Senior Sister, how is Master?" Yan Yan noticed Master's fatigue and, feeling worried, stepped forward and asked in a low voice.

"Take your junior brothers to bed early tonight. Tomorrow, we'll go to the Taoist temple," Ye Zi replied.

"Are we really going to build a Taoist temple? Did Master agree?" Jiang Yuzhi asked happily, picking up Xiao Shenmu and spinning him around. "Master agreed to build a Taoist temple."

But then, remembering something, he turned back to his senior sister, a little worried: "Senior sister, do we have enough money?"

"Yes, that's enough." Ye Zi nodded, rubbed the two little heads, looked up at Luo Hengzhi, and said, "Let's go."

Luo Hengzhi remained seated. He had just learned about the specific layout of the Taoist temple, which was larger than he had imagined and was not just a single mountain peak.

His fellow disciples told him that they were currently on just one of the mountain peaks, the main peak. Luo Hengzhi could imagine how magnificent and splendid this place must have been.

What exactly happened to bring things to this point?

The Lingju Temple is in a terrible state now and really needs to be repaired. No wonder Ye Zi and her fellow disciples are so obsessed with building a Taoist temple.

That said, the only remaining rooms are the few that are still occupied, but all of them are taken. In other words, there are no extra rooms for him to stay in the Taoist temple.

If he goes out, he will have to share a room with Ye Zi.

"I'll just squeeze into this room with my junior brother," Luo Hengzhi said softly, without moving.

"No, brother-in-law, our little junior brother is very noisy at night. You should stay with our senior sister instead." Yan Yan said, pushing her brother-in-law toward their senior sister.

Luo Hengzhi looked at Yan Yan in disbelief. How could this teenager have such strength?

"Okay, go to sleep early, I'm leaving." Ye Zi pulled the reluctant Luo Hengzhi into her room without looking back.

Looking at the two holding hands, Luo Hengzhi felt uncomfortable and awkward, as Ye Zi had dragged her along that day.

Luo Hengzhi wanted to appeal, but he had no freedom at all!

Forced into Ye Zi's room, Luo Hengzhi saw the 1.5-meter bed as soon as she entered. How could two people sleep in such a small space?

Luo Hengzhi was particular about his sleeping arrangements and preferred a large bed. He felt that this small bed was too small for him to sleep alone, so he asked, "If I sleep on the floor, do you have any extra blankets?"

"The bed," Ye Zi said, pointing to the bed.

"No, no." Luo Hengzhi shook her head repeatedly, retreating as she tried to get away from the bed.

[It's just a bed, why do you insist on sleeping on the floor? Have you been bullied at the Luo family so much that they won't even let you sleep in a bed and you have to sleep on the floor every day?]

Ye Zi imagined Luo Hengzhi being bullied, and her eyes filled with pity. Her gaze towards Luo Hengzhi became even more determined. She wanted Luo Hengzhi to sleep on the bed so that she wouldn't have to sleep on the floor anymore.

Looking at Ye Zi's complicated expression, Luo Hengzhi thought, "This cultivator, this imagination... how can it be so wild!"

All she wanted was to share a bed with him, so why did she think of him as so pitiful? Luo Hengzhi didn't believe that it was because she had acted too pitifully in the Luo family that Ye Zi had such a stereotype.

"Take off your shoes and get on the bed." Ye Zi approached Luo Hengzhi step by step.

Luo Hengzhi was forced to approach and turned to the bedside in fright, conceding, "Can...can we take it slow? I'm used to sleeping alone, and I'm not used to this yet."

"You'll get used to it after a while." Ye Zi pushed Luo Hengzhi down onto the bed and bent down to help him take off his shoes.

"No!" Luo Hengzhi watched as her shoes were taken off. Without those shoes, Luo Hengzhi couldn't even stand up, and now she couldn't run away even if she wanted to.

Ignoring Luo Hengzhi's struggles, Ye Zi placed her hands on Luo Hengzhi's knees and channeled her spiritual energy into them.

Luo Hengzhi felt the warm current in his legs and realized that Ye Zi, who looked so fierce, was actually going to help him heal his legs.

Okay, he misunderstood. Luo Hengzhi is obediently staying still. That's fine. Let's listen to Ye Zi's thoughts first and see what's going on with this leg injury.

"What exactly happened in that car accident?" Ye Zi suddenly asked.

Luo Hengzhi didn't want to recall the car accident, nor dared to, so she changed the subject and asked, "What happened to my leg?"

"There's something inside you protecting you," Ye Zi said, tapping Luo Hengzhi's knee.

"Protect?" His legs were practically useless; how come he'd never heard of anything in this world that could protect people like that?

Judging from Luo Hengzhi's appearance, Ye Zi knew that she was completely unaware of the condition inside her body.

She couldn't answer Luo Hengzhi either. Even her master couldn't see through it, so she couldn't figure it out either, and she didn't say anything more.

Luo Hengzhi watched as Ye Zi continued to channel spiritual energy into his legs. Ye Zi was only thinking of using spiritual energy to soothe the meridians in Luo Hengzhi's legs every day. As for whether it would have any effect, she didn't know yet.

If the meridians in Luo Hengzhi's legs remain closed, then Luo Hengzhi will never be able to draw qi into her body.

Seeing that Ye Zi didn't intend to answer, Luo Hengzhi asked directly, "Why can my eyes suddenly see so many things today?"

"You've opened your third eye." Ye Zi looked up at Luo Hengzhi's eyes, which were bright and deep, like the brightest star in the night sky, dazzling and beautiful.

"Because of the Daoist Couple Contract?" Luo Hengzhi asked.

"Yes, if you can draw Qi into your body, you can now have the cultivation of the fifth level of Qi Refining." Ye Zi said to Luo Hengzhi, while continuously channeling spiritual energy into her hands.

"Then how do I draw qi into my body?" Apart from his eyes, Luo Hengzhi was the same as before, so he shouldn't have drawn qi into his body.

"Not yet?" Ye Zi channeled spiritual energy into Luo Heng's body to stimulate her, but her meridians showed no reaction.

"That's all for today." Ye Zi got up. She was a little tired today. She walked to the sofa opposite the bed, sat down, and turned off the light.

"Why not yet?" Luo Hengzhi looked at the pitch blackness before him and gazed in Ye Zi's direction. He was determined to find out tonight; he didn't want to leave any questions unanswered, so he pressed on.

“Your leg meridians are closed; you can only begin cultivation once they are opened,” Ye Zi replied.

Luo Hengzhi remembered that Master Yunqing also said that his leg meridians were completely closed and without any damage: "Does this mean that my legs will be completely healed once my leg meridians are opened?"

"Mm," Ye Zi replied.

Knowing the situation, Luo Hengzhi didn't ask any more questions. She closed her eyes to sleep, but then opened them again, wondering if it was inappropriate to let a girl sleep on the sofa.

"How about I sleep on the sofa?" Luo Hengzhi said.

"No need." Ye Zi had used up some spiritual energy today and felt that her cultivation was about to advance again, but she knew it would fall back down. She needed to meditate and regulate her breathing.

Unable to hear any movement from Ye Zi, Luo Hengzhi closed her eyes and soon fell asleep.

The next morning

"Senior Sister has advanced! Master, Senior Sister has directly advanced to the late Foundation Establishment stage, skipping two minor stages!"

Luo Hengzhi was awakened by the noise. It was already broad daylight. This was the first time in so many years that she had slept so soundly and had no dreams all night.

Luo Hengzhi lifted her leg, put on her shoes, and went outside.

"Good morning, brother-in-law. Wash up and eat. Master has prepared a lot of dishes today." The three little ones greeted Luo Hengzhi excitedly and pointed out the direction of the washroom to him.

"Are you in a good mood today?" Luo Hengzhi asked, looking at the three energetic little ones.

"Yes, thanks to you, Senior Brother-in-law, you bring good fortune to your wife. As soon as you arrived, Senior Sister advanced in her cultivation level," Senior Brother Yan Yan replied earnestly.

"Brother-in-law, you're here! Lingju Temple will definitely get better and better in the future," said Jiang Yuzhi, the junior brother.

"Yes, yes, Senior Sister's husband is Senior Sister's lucky charm," Little Junior Brother Shen Muye added.

"What? Auspicious wife? Fortune treasure? What are these?" Luo Hengzhi hadn't expected to gain so many titles after just one night at Lingju Temple. He had no idea he possessed such abilities.

Are these little guys teasing me? Ye Zi is so strong, advancing in rank is normal for him, so how come he's so lucky for his wife?

Ye Zi smiled when she saw Luo Hengzhi nod, and continued preparing the meal.

"Congratulations on your advancement." Luo Hengzhi and Ye Zi exchanged glances, thinking that an advancement for a cultivator must be a very important matter, so they casually offered their congratulations.
