Chapter 9 —It’s yours.

Chapter 9 —It’s yours.

Wen Chu was half asleep when she realized he was back, but she was so sleepy that she only murmured a few words. He responded, and she fell asleep again. Gu Cheng changed into a suit and went back to the company.

Around six in the afternoon, Wen Chu woke up, ate, packed up, and headed out. The driver stayed to pick her up and took her to the film and television studio. The set was bustling with activity; they had just moved to a new location, and everyone was busy packing up. Wen Chu went inside to put on makeup and change clothes. This location was smaller than the previous one, and with over a dozen people crammed in, she soon began to sweat. The mingling of all the different scents was incredibly refreshing.

Wen Chu finished her makeup and heard the makeup artist say, "Teacher Qi took the largest dressing room across the street, so we are squeezed in here."

Wen Chu followed the gaze of several resentful actors and saw that the door opposite was open. The space inside was endless. There were three dressing tables alone, but they only served Qi Yuan.

She was sitting on a chair with a cigarette between her fingers, and several of her makeup artists were applying makeup and making her clothes.

"I heard that Director Fang Yi is coming to visit the set tonight. Teacher Qi is in a good mood."

Several people discussed carefully behind him.

"Really? No wonder you look so happy."

They seemed to be laughing and mocking.

Everyone in the crew knew about Qi Yuan and Fang Yi's affair, and they would occasionally discuss it, but they certainly wouldn't dare discuss it in front of the main character.

After the makeup was done, the stagehand came to urge her to go out. Wen Chu lifted her skirt and went out. Qi Yuan happened to come out from the opposite side. They were wearing the same costume and met face to face. One was alone and the other was followed by several assistants. Qi Yuan glanced at Wen Chu, turned the corner before her, and blocked her way.

Wen Chu could only wait there for a while. After her group left, she walked towards the set. As soon as she arrived, the staff called her and Wen Chu looked up.

The groundskeeper came running over with a dessert and some food in his hands. Wen Chu was surprised: "What is this?"

The groundskeeper handed her the item and said, "Your driver just delivered it. He asked me to bring it in for you. He said Young Master Gu ordered it for you."

Wen Chu was stunned and saw a note on it. She opened it and took a look.

Gu Cheng's calligraphy is extremely beautiful, with dragons and phoenixes dancing freely.

——Don’t go hungry.

Wen Chu's eyebrows curved and the corners of her lips curled up. She took the things, said thank you to the staff, turned around and placed them next to her seat.

Qi Yuan and the others were nearby. Shu Mei was talking to Qi Yuan, and the others subconsciously looked at Wen Chu. Qi Yuan watched Wen Chu carrying something, her eyes filled with a smile, her happiness evident from within. Shu Mei held a small fan, blowing on her and Qi Yuan. She spoke in a low voice, "Nothing to worry about. This should have been..."

——It’s yours.

She didn't say these three words, but Qi Yuan knew it. Her eyes were indifferent and she looked away.

The assistant director came forward to explain the play. With Wen Chu there, the scenes could be shot separately. For example, Wen Chu could perform a few martial arts scenes, and Qi Yuan only had to shoot the literary scenes.

However, there were a few moves in the early stages that required Wen Chu's help, so Wen Chu moved for Qi Yuan first. Qi Yuan, with her arms folded behind the camera, watched Wen Chu's movements and said, "Didn't I tell you to go left? Why are you going right?"

Wen Chu frowned and looked back at the director.

The director moved his mouth and could only raise his hand to signal her to try to move to the left. In fact, Wen Chu's position just now was just right. Wen Chu said nothing and walked to the left.

The director motioned for the cameraman to move to the left as well so that he could actually find the shot.

Qi Yuan pointed at her arm and said, "He can't even make a mistake in his positioning. A stuntman is a stuntman."

She was completely crazy tonight. Wen Chu didn't say anything, and the directors were helpless. After taking Wen Chu to the location, Wen Chu was taken away by the assistant director to shoot the fighting scene.

This part is done in one take.

Qi Yuan had to stop filming for a while, Jiang Ran yawned repeatedly, drank American coffee to refresh himself, and waited. Just when everyone was taking a break.

Fang Yi finally arrived. As soon as he stepped in, even the director turned around to greet him. He was wearing a gray suit and holding a fan in his hand.

Many people admired him and looked at him. After all, he was a well-known gold medal screenwriter in the industry. Qi Yuan bit her cigarette and stared at him with resentment in her eyes.

Fang Yi came up to her, closed his fan, and said, "I'm here, aren't I?"

Qi Yuan narrowed her eyes: "You can come later."

Fang Yi chuckled, pulled a chair over and sat down, saying, "When it comes to visiting the set, what's the difference between early and late? I'm lucky I can come."

Qi Yuan held a thin cigarette between her fingers. Seeing the irritation he was suppressing, but not wanting to show it in public, she said, "Go to my lounge."

"No, I'll just watch here." Fang Yi crossed his legs and searched the scene, stopping at the scene where Wen Chu was, still filming a martial arts scene.

Wen Chu held Qingping's soft sword, exuding a sense of pressure. With the wind whistling, he fought with other actors in mid-air, and every move was done with ease.

The long shot didn’t capture her face, but her movements were definitely captured.

Fang Yi raised his eyebrows, stood up, walked over there holding a fan, and looked at Wen Chu from behind the camera. As a screenwriter, he naturally had a say.

He said: "This stuntman is quite interesting, and the filming is good."

The director turned around and saw him and smiled, "Yeah, Writer Fang, I think so too."

Fang Yi looked up at Wen Chu and said, "She must have filmed the last scene of my female knight. Only by filming carefully can you get what I want."

The director heard about the female knight and also knew that the wind was very strong recently and was blowing everywhere.

Their drama will be released next year. If "The Female Knight" performs well, it will bring them popularity. He praised: "It is indeed directed by Teacher Wen. The script of "The Female Knight" is very good."

"How can my writing be bad?" Fang Yi said.

Qi Yuan had already put out her cigarette behind her. She stared at Fang Yi, and wherever his eyes went, her suppressed anger was about to burst out.

She took a deep breath, and Fang Yi's voice praising Wen Chu also entered her ears. Qi Yuan was so angry that she wanted to laugh, but there was only coldness in her eyes.

She took a step forward.

Shu Mei immediately stopped her and whispered, "This is on the set, everyone is watching. It's ok for you to argue with him on the phone normally, but don't argue on the set. Just bear with it."

Qi Yuan looked back at Shu Mei and said, "Did you hear what he said? I filmed this scene, and Wen Chu only had a few stand-ins. How could it be all her credit?"

Shu Mei narrowed her eyes, looking at Wen Chu's figure, and whispered, "She can't make any waves. Your first priority now is to resolve your relationship with Fang Yi. Do you want to continue or end it? You have to come up with a plan. Your Qi family and our company are so strong, there's nothing to be afraid of."

Qi Yuan was so angry that she was shaking, staring at Fang Yi's back. The past days passed by in a flash. They were both newcomers at that time, but Fang Yi became famous before her. His suspense movie was a hit and won the Best Screenwriter Award that year, while she had just started to show her talent and was not yet stable.

The two fell in love because of a play, but over the years, something started to change. They could no longer find the same feelings they had when they first met. Fang Yi's feelings had long since shifted, and his mind was no longer on her.

After experiencing Fang Yi's instability, she thought that all men in the world were like this, but Gu Cheng and Wen Chu had been together for four years and there was still no change, and they were as good as ever.

She felt like laughing.

It turns out that some people can really be consistent.

Shu Mei held out her phone and showed it to Qi Yuan: "Look, where did he stay last night? And these photos, I've taken them all. They're all evidence of his romantic life in the industry."

Qi Yuan glanced at the photos and saw that Fang Yi stayed overnight at the home of a young actor from another crew. What could be the reason for a male screenwriter staying in an actress's room?

Not to mention the other photos that followed, in the bar, at the banquet, with their faces touching each other. Qi Yuan pushed the phone away, relit a cigarette, and smoked it while trembling.

Shu Mei smoothed her shoulders.

After watching Wen Chu filming, Fang Yi walked out, fanning himself, and watched Qi Yuan smoke.

Qi Yuan stared at him, and the light in their eyes disappeared. Fang Yi smiled and said, "I've visited the class too. I'll be leaving first."

"Are you visiting my class? You're here to see other people." Qi Yuan mocked. Fang Yi didn't respond, but smiled and left, driving his sports car out of the film and television city.

-

In the second half of the night, the scenes were more important, and Qi Yuan asked Wen Chu to take her place in two literary scenes. Wen Chu stood in front of the camera, and Qi Yuan stood there smoking, staring at her while filming.

Everyone could feel that Qi Yuan was not in a good condition, and Wen Chu was even worse, because Qi Yuan had caused trouble for her several times, but fortunately the director stopped her.

Wen Chu counted the time. She felt hungry after filming so much, so she opened the food that Gu Cheng had sent her. They were all her favorites, and there were also some drinks, such as lattes.

After she finished eating, she returned to the set, put on her coat and started filming new scenes.

Staying up late makes people's brains numb. In the second half, many people stayed on the set to sleep, and Qi Yuan also returned to the lounge. In the entire set, only Wen Chu was hanging in the air with his domineering power, continuing to shoot the next scenes.

Until the sky was getting light.

The scene had just ended, and Wen Chu's back was soaked with sweat. She changed her clothes, carried her bag and mobile phone and left the set. She saw the morning light in the sky and the car driven by Gu Cheng. At that moment, Wen Chu ran towards Gu Cheng. Gu Cheng had just finished looking at his phone and looked up to see her running towards him.

He stretched out his hand.

Wen Chu threw herself into his arms and Gu Cheng hugged her.

Wen Chu nestled in his arms. He raised his hand to press the back of her head and whispered, "Are you sleepy?"

She nodded into the crook of his neck.

"Go home and sleep," he whispered, opening the passenger door and helping her in. The two of them had just embraced each other in the morning light, a scene that was like a part of the parking lot.

Other actors who were off work were walking towards the parking lot and saw this scene. They were pleased with it but also envious. Qi Yuan's nanny car drove directly to the door to pick her up. She also saw this scene in the car. As the nanny car drove past, her eyes slid past Gu Cheng closing the car door for Wen Chu.

Wen Chu felt drowsy after getting in the car. The Porsche was driving steadily. At this time, the charging cell phone rang. Wen Chu opened his eyes and saw that the call was from his mother. Wen Chu perked up and answered the phone.

"Chu Chu, just woke up?" Ye Qifang's soft voice came. Wen Chu shook her head lightly and smiled, "Yes, I just woke up."

"I was thinking of calling you so early, maybe you were still asleep. Who knew you'd answer?" Ever since Ye Qifang had breast cancer surgery, she'd had trouble sleeping well. She'd basically get up early every day, sometimes even needing medication. Wen Chu knew this, and she smiled and said, "Mom, I get up early sometimes, too."

Ye Qifang smiled. She took her clothes to the balcony, looked at the morning light in the sky, and asked softly, "Are you busy lately? Has your company arranged any roles for you? Didn't Teacher Qi Yuan say before that she would find a role for you in a few years? Has she arranged any?"
