Chapter 29
After he finished speaking, the only sound in the room was rapid breathing.
The two of them stared at each other, one taller than the other. Everything but their heartbeats stopped in an instant. The glass blocked out the traffic, the hawking, the sweltering night. The oxygen thinned further and further in this atmosphere, and blood rushed frantically to every nerve ending, like some kind of raging fire, roaring to burst out of the body.
After a long time, Cen Zhao closed his eyes slightly.
It was a light and restrained action, but it was obvious that after Cen Zhao opened his eyes again, Chen Liuchi knew that his restraint had failed.
"Sinking pool..."
Cen Zhao was pushed to half-sit at the edge of the table. It was obviously a slightly weak posture, but Cen Zhao's eyes were frighteningly bright, like a thin piece of ice floating on the sea in broad daylight, barely covering the surging sea.
He just stared straight at the sinking pond for a while, then slowly smiled. The smile was like the clouds before a storm, quickly dissipating before it could overflow from his eyes. His true expression was full of depression and ferocity that was about to explode:
"You should be thankful I don't have a lounge here."
The profound meaning is self-evident.
Chen Liuchi didn't feel scared, nor did he feel this was a threat. Instead, he looked at Cen Zhao half teasingly and half provocatively: "That's a pity."
Cen Zhao didn't speak immediately. After a moment, he raised his eyelashes and suddenly raised his hand to grab the back of Chen Liuchi's neck, forcing him to lower his head. Cen Zhao lowered his gaze slightly, but held Chen Liuchi's gaze for a moment, almost at eye level. The light in his pupils was deep and intense.
Just when Chen Liuchi thought that there was going to be another storm, Cen Zhao tilted his head slightly, kissed the corner of his lips gently, and let him go gently.
"Cen Zhao?"
Chen Liuchi was a bit surprised, and the next second, he pushed her slightly away with his shoulder. Cen Zhao stood up from the table, slightly straightened his messy clothes, took his coat and draped it over his arm to block out the unnatural feeling in front of him, and let out a sigh: "I'll be back soon."
Chen Liuchi was stunned for a moment. His first reaction was that Cen Zhao was going to desert the battlefield, but judging from his expression, it didn't seem like that.
His doubts were too obvious, so obvious that it was a little funny. Naturally, Cen Zhao couldn't help but curl his lips, and the previous tension in his body, as if he was going to a battlefield, was somewhat dissipated.
"There are other forensic pathologists on duty tonight. I'll go and tell them."
Cen Zhao watched Chen Liuchi's expression change from confusion to understanding and then to pupils shaking. He smiled happily and said, "We'll go home right away."
Forensic Doctor Cen used very precise words. When he said "immediately", he really meant it. He went out to give instructions and came back. In less than three minutes, he was already leaving get off work hand in hand with Chen Liuchi.
Chen Liuchi no longer had the provocative energy he had just had, and said dryly: "Just leaving like that?"
Cen Zhao glanced back at the office, said "oh", and went back in to pack up the lunch box he hadn't eaten yet and took it away: "Go home and eat."
Who told you this!
Chenliuchi gritted his teeth and remained silent, feeling only a chill from the waist down, as if it was a warning of some impending storm.
Cen Zhao didn't say anything. He quickly pulled the man out of the police station. When he got to the car, he raised his chin to Chen Liuchi and said, "Boss Shen, are you sorry to drive?"
Chen Liuchi nodded, and when he opened the car door, he inexplicably felt like a sheep walking into a tiger's mouth, especially since he was a very proactive and self-aware sheep.
Cen Zhao took the passenger seat, fastened his seatbelt, and smiled, "Why do you look like you're going to die a heroic death?"
Chen Liuchi nodded and shook his head, then started the car: "I just didn't expect you to be such a man of action."
Compared to his nervousness, Cen Zhao seemed quite relaxed and replied leisurely, "Isn't it because I'm worried that Boss Shen will think I don't care?"
As he spoke, his gaze fell over, as if it were substantial and heavy: "Chen Liuchi, I care about you very much."
The nervousness seemed to be just a fleeting moment, and disappeared in the blink of an eye. Chen Liuchi smiled slightly: "I know."
Recently, a late-night restaurant has become popular near the Municipal Bureau. It becomes more and more popular as the night goes on, and the road that must be taken to get home is extremely congested.
Chenliuchi had no other choice but to take a few steps and brake a few times, and the anger of the two men was completely gone.
"I should have known not to drive."
Seeing that the road ahead was blocked again, Chenliuchi's calves twitched. "Let's go back instead of walking. It's faster for both of us to walk back than this."
Cen Zhao had no objections, but there wasn't even a parking space on the roadside, and they couldn't just leave the car in the middle of the road. There was no other way, so the two of them decided to just stay in traffic and slowly make their way. They'd eventually get home.
"The man today... was my brother's former senior. We also had an ambiguous relationship in the past."
In the car, Chen Liuchi suddenly spoke up, confessing without warning. Cen Zhao was stunned for a moment before nodding, "I kind of guessed it."
Chenliuchi didn't finish his words, but paused for a long time. The car moved slowly in the crowd. Although it was very slow, it was indeed moving forward.
"He did something very bad to me, and I resented and hated him for many years. But just now, I suddenly realized that my deep hatred for him seemed to exist only in my imagination. In fact, when we meet again, I can ignore him and treat him as a stranger, a transparent person. He no longer has any influence on me and will no longer cause me any unnecessary emotional fluctuations."
Chen Liuchi looked at the flashing traffic lights at the intersection ahead. The light shattered into pieces in his eyes, just like the memories of the past, which had long been shattered and submerged in the years, and fluttered away with time.
He considers himself not to be an emotional person, and he does not want to place too many emotions on irrelevant people. Any emotional fluctuations with strong emotional colors are particularly precious and should be placed on equally precious people.
Cen Zhao listened quietly without making a sound to disturb him. He just looked at Chen Liuchi's profile with a focused and gentle gaze. His gaze always had a peaceful power that could calm all the uneasiness and waves, making people calm and peaceful.
Chenliuchi was enveloped by this gentle power and became more calm: "My brother was quite critical of our relationship at the beginning, and it was also because of that person. I had experienced bad things because of him, and my brother was afraid that I would repeat the same mistake."
Cen Zhao nodded slightly, and half of his face was hidden in the darkness during the movement, and his gentle eyes could no longer be seen.
Neither of them spoke again. The car became quiet. The car drove out of the crowded avenue, turned, and finally drove towards home.
The air conditioner in the car was turned on very high, but Cen Zhao felt a little stuffy in his chest. He lowered the window an inch, and the warm night breeze poured into the car. However, the dull silence could not be blown away by the wind for a long time, and it even became more blocked and crowded.
"Chenliuchi." Cen Zhao called his name in a muffled voice.
"What?" Chen Liuchi glanced at him and said, "Don't feel sorry for me. I don't feel sorry for myself."
"It's not pity." Cen Zhao shook his head, "It's heartache."
His voice lowered, and Chen Liuchi subconsciously glanced at him, and Cen Zhao also looked at him at the same time. His usual warm expression was gone, and his eyes, shrouded in darkness, seemed a little deep.
Chen Liuchi looked at him and felt that the feeling of liking someone was really subtle. She hoped that he would feel sorry for her, but she didn't want to see him sad because of his love.
The car drove through the streets and finally entered the residential complex, still parked downstairs from Cen Zhao's house. Chen Liuchi turned off the engine and removed the key, but didn't get out of the car. He simply unbuckled his seatbelt and turned toward Cen Zhao, "Do you want a hug?"
Cen Zhao's expression was initially grim, but he lost control a bit after hearing this. Chen Liuchi's tone was like coaxing a child, leaving him at a loss for words. However, his body remained honest, and he leaned into the man's shoulder, mumbling, "Shouldn't I be the one comforting you?"
Chen Liuchi didn't care who comforted whom, and he didn't need comfort at all now. The sad time had long passed, and he was not fragile.
After about half a minute, Cen Zhao stepped back slightly. His gaze was still deep, but the kiss he placed on the corner of Shen Liuchi's lips was still gentle and soft.
"go home."
It was very dark and there was no light in the house.
Chen Liuchi tilted his head slightly, trying to relax his body in the delicate and lingering kiss, but his eyelashes flickered and trembled constantly, and a muffled groan escaped from his nose when he breathed. He unconsciously grabbed the bed sheet and buried his whole face heavily in the bed, as if he wanted to relieve the pleasure mixed with pain with the suffocation of hot flashes.
"Be good, don't be depressed."
The palms of Cen Zhao's arms were very hot. He passed in front of Chen Liuchi from behind, lifted his shoulders to support his body, and rested his chest on his back. It was very hot, but very comfortable. He could hear his fast and heavy heartbeat.
Chen Liuchi held Cen Zhao's thigh with his backhand. It was not noticeable because he was dressed neatly on weekdays, but when he exerted force, he could feel the other person's strong and sturdy muscles. Every inch of it contained silent strength and oppression.
Cen Zhao seemed to be trying to be gentle in bed, but that wasn't happening. Chen Liuchi felt a bit painful, aching, yet full. It wasn't a good feeling, but it wasn't too bad either. For his first time, he was already quite content.
"Xiaochi..."
Cen Zhao held Chen Liuchi and turned him over. His injured arm made the movements a little awkward, but Chen Liuchi was incredibly cooperative, raising his legs and bending his waist. Cen Zhao had been a little nervous at first, but now his heart and eyes were filled with joy and tenderness. He rubbed Chen Liuchi's face with the damp ends of his hair, "Great, baby Chi."
Chen Liuchi hummed softly and nestled in Cen Zhao's arms, breathing heavily. As he panted, he suddenly felt something was wrong. He touched it with his backhand and was shocked: "Cen Zhao! You, what are you doing again?!"
Cen Zhao was very frank with him, but also a little sighed: "I have no self-control around you."
The sinking pool then has to feel itself, as if it can be indulged once more.
But Cen Zhao had used the quilt to block the contact from below, leaving only his upper body against the sinking pool. He kissed his face from time to time and touched his head with the tip of his nose and forehead.
Chen Liuchi really enjoyed this sticky intimacy, and felt that Cen Zhao's actions were really like a big cat. He reached out and scratched the cat's chin: "Silly."
Cen Zhao narrowed his eyes slightly, leaning against him comfortably. After a while, he suddenly sighed, "I really like you, Chen Liuchi."
These words were a bit too blunt and childish coming from a man in his thirties, but Chenliuchi was particularly useful.
He likes this kind of straightforward love.
So Chenliuchi did not respond immediately, but just indulged himself in feeling this wonderful feeling in his heart. His heart seemed to have turned into some kind of juicy fruit, which was kneaded by a passionate confession. The juice that squeezed out was so sweet that it was greasy. His whole body seemed to be soaked in a honey pot. The warm and sticky thing wrapped him up little by little. He just wanted to indulge in it and gradually fall asleep.
Cen Zhao didn't hear anyone talking, he only heard the gradually steady breathing.
When he turned his head, he saw Chen Liuchi sleeping with his forehead resting on his shoulder and his lips bent.
