Chapter 16: Marriage Permission

Chapter 16: Marriage Permission

Sun Wei had expected this day to come, but she didn't know how to face Sima Jun.

The garden of Prince Yuzhang's Mansion was bustling with activity.

She and Sima Jun met at the Bibo Pavilion on the other side.

Before the pavilion ran a winding stream, perfect for the pleasure of drinking wine while drinking. But its owner seemed uninterested; moss grew on the stones, indicating that no feasts had ever taken place there.

The weather was not good and it started raining as soon as we reached the stream.

Sun Wei took the umbrella handed to her by the servant and got off the carriage.

The heavy rain made the sky and the earth turbid. Sun Wei walked quickly into the pavilion and suddenly met Sima Jun's eyes.

She put away her umbrella and bowed to hide her panic.

"I didn't expect that three months ago you were weak and bullied, but today you were recommended by the eldest princess. Do you have anything to say to me?" Sima Jun asked.

Sun Wei still didn't know how to answer.

Sima Jun's voice was calm, and no emotion could be heard.

But Sun Wei knew that he was probably unhappy.

She can understand.

Sima Jun was tired of the Empress Dowager and the Princess Royal manipulating the court and trying to interfere in his marriage. He must have thought that she was in cahoots with the Princess Royal.

"Your Highness saved my life, I will not harm Your Highness." After saying this, Sun Wei realized that he was actually cowardly and how powerless his explanation was.

She clutched the silk scarf tightly in her hand, trying to calmly explain the pros and cons to Sima Jun, just as she would to the eldest princess.

But under Sima Jun's gaze, she felt her heart beating as if she were riding a horse.

Sun Wei said, "The princess arranged the marriage, but it was because Wang wanted to spy on Your Highness. Your Highness is displeased, and I know it very well. But there are ways to have the best of both worlds. Although I obey the princess, I also have no second thoughts about Your Highness..."

"Since you've admitted that you're the princess's man, why do you say you have no other intentions?" Sima Jun interrupted. "Did the princess force you?"

Sun Wei shook her head. "The Princess never forced me. I admitted this because I didn't want to deceive Your Highness. I obeyed the Princess's orders because she had shown me kindness."

Sima Jun sneered as if he had heard something interesting.

"Is that so?" His voice was low and slow. "The eldest princess ruined your marriage with Wang Yu. Is that a favor?"

Sun Wei didn't expect that Sima Yu could see through his affairs so clearly, and was speechless for a moment.

"Since you can't explain it clearly, I won't force you." Sima Jun said, "Let's just pretend that what happened today never happened. From now on, you and I will be like strangers, with nothing to do with each other."

After he said that, he turned away.

Sun Wei looked at his back, and suddenly she felt a lot of courage coming out of nowhere, and she took a step forward to catch up with him.

She rushed into the rain without hesitation and grabbed Sima Jun's sleeve.

She looked up at Sima Jun, and the raindrops as big as beans hit her eyes, making it almost impossible for her to see Sima Jun's expression.

"The Princess never forced me, because it was all my suggestion. The Princess ruined my marriage with Wang Yu, but I don't resent her, because I don't like Wang Yu. I like His Highness!"

She wiped her eyes with her hands, but it didn't help much.

She still couldn't see Sima Jun clearly, and she didn't know if he could hear clearly with the heavy rain, so she raised her voice: "I like Your Highness and want to marry Him! But I know that my family is humble, and there is a huge gap between me and Your Highness. This marriage is absolutely impossible! So after thinking about it, I can only resort to this method! I know this matter is shameful, so I dare not tell Your Highness, and I don't want to disgust Him! But since Your Highness has given up on me, I no longer have any scruples! If Your Highness wants to dislike me or scold me, I will do as you wish!"

She didn't know if it was the pain of the rain or the pain in her heart, but she could hear her own voice beginning to sound like tears.

He finished speaking, his blood rushed to his head and his heart seemed to jump out.

She didn't dare to stay any longer, so she let go of him and turned to run away in the other direction.

But after running a few steps, she was caught up.

Then, his arm was firmly grasped by a huge force.

In the rain, Sima Jun's voice reached his ears: "What if I agree to this?"
