Chapter 226: Long Talk (Part 1)

Chapter 226: Long Talk (Part 1)

Sun Wei shuddered and sat up, all sleepiness gone.

She put on her clothes and rushed to Yu Yi's boat house, only to see that Yu Yi had indeed woken up, and the servant beside him was helping him sit up and lean on the mattress.

Sun Wei walked forward.

"Young Master, you haven't had any food or water for a long time." She instructed the servant who was serving Yu Yi, "Go to the kitchen and see if there is anything to eat."

Then she sent others to get warm water to wipe Yu Yi's body and change his clothes.

After everyone had left, Sun Wei sat down beside Yu Yi's bed and covered him with a thin quilt.

Yu Yi was still weak. He looked at her and asked softly, "Is the princess okay?"

"I'm fine, sir, don't worry." Sun Wei said as she pondered how to tell him about that matter. Just as she was about to speak, she suddenly heard faint footsteps outside, as if someone was striding towards them.

She knew there was no time to lose, so she looked at Yu Yi and said, "I know you have a lot to ask me. I have no intention of hiding anything from you. But there are some things that should never be known to others. I will explain to you later what you want to know, okay?"

Yu Yi's gaze fixed.

At this moment, Sima Jun appeared in front of the door.

He saw Sun Wei sitting in front of Yu Yi's bed, slowed down for a moment, and continued to walk in.

"The prince is here." Sun Wei stood up calmly.

"The princess is here too." Sima Jun walked over and said.

"I didn't sleep well last night and woke up early." Sun Wei smiled and said, "I just happened to hear that you woke up, so I came to visit."

After saying that, she looked at Yu Yi.

Sima Jun also looked at Yu Yi: "What does Bo You feel now?"

Yu Yi saw that all four eyes were looking at him, and his eyebrows moved slightly. After a moment, he smiled faintly.

"I'm fine," he said.

After saying that, he moved, as if he wanted to get up from the couch.

Sun Wei hurried to help, but the next moment, Sima Jun was already in front.

"Bo You just woke up, don't move rashly." He held Yu Yi down and said, "Rest for a while. If there's anything, let the servants do it."

Yu Yi leaned on the mattress, took two breaths, and looked at him.

"When I woke up just now, I vaguely heard the servants talking about something that happened to the Huan family," he said. "How's my uncle doing?"

Hearing this, Sima Jun couldn't help but look at Sun Wei.

Sun Wei knew that this matter could not be concealed, so he nodded slightly to Sima Jun.

Sima Jun then sat down and told Yu Yi everything about Huan Ding and Huan An.

Yu Yi's face turned serious when he heard this, and he pursed his lips tightly.

"Boyou, please accept my condolences." Sima Jun said.

Yu Yi didn't say anything, but covered his chest and coughed twice.

Seeing this, Sun Wei quickly poured some water and handed it over.

Yu Yi shook his head, leaning back on the mattress with a long sigh. "My uncle has a stubborn personality and often makes unwise decisions. That's why the Duke of Nanjun has so many reservations and has been reluctant to pass on the throne. Everyone has their own destiny, and my uncle's fate is his. I just don't know how my aunt will deal with this."

Sima Jun asked, "Does Bo You want to tell Madam Yu the truth?"

Yu Yi said, "My uncle died at the hands of Huan An. How could I just sit there and watch?"

Sima Jun said, "I'm afraid Madam Yu will know about this even without Boyou's intervention."

Yu Yi looked at him in surprise: "What do you mean?"

"Boyou forgot that Huan Lingxian is still in Jingzhou," Sima Jun said. "She has always been on Lü Qiuyan's side. How could she allow herself to be manipulated by Huan An? This matter is suspicious from beginning to end, and the only one who benefits is Huan An. No matter who he puts the blame for the murder of Huan Yi and his son on, he cannot escape suspicion."

Yu Yi pondered in silence.

Sun Wei said from the side, "There's another reason. At the moment, Madam Yu is still the mistress of the Huan family. If Huan An wants to stabilize the Huan family, he can't do without Madam Yu's support. Therefore, for the time being, Huan An will not dare to touch Madam Yu."

Yu Yi pondered for a moment and said "hmm" softly.

He asked Sima Jun, "I want to go to Yuzhou in person and report this to my uncle. Jingzhou is in such chaos, the news must be spreading in a chaotic manner. I must discuss a plan with him so that I can protect my aunt if something unexpected happens in the future."

Sima Jun said, "Bo You has woken up just in time. In two days, the boat will reach Yuzhou. Then I will accompany Bo You to see Governor Yu."

"Thank you, Ziheng."

Sima Jun immediately went out to instruct Deng Lian.

Sun Wei took advantage of this opportunity and quickly said, "Young Master..."

Yu Yi looked at her and shook his head slightly.

After a while, Sima Jun came back.

"It's still early," Yu Yi said, "you two should go back and rest. I have a doctor to take care of you, so you won't be in any trouble."

Sun Wei understood that these words were spoken to her and now was not the time to speak.

She and Sima Jun agreed and retreated.

——

Two days later, the ship docked in Liyang, the capital of Yuzhou.

There is Sifang Pavilion in Liyang to receive guests.

Although Yu Yi had just recovered from a serious illness, he insisted on going to see his uncle immediately. Sima Jun had no choice but to have him carried on a sedan chair all the way to the governor's residence.

Sun Wei stayed in the guesthouse, feeling uneasy.

In the past two days, whenever she went to visit Yu Yi, Sima Jun would always show up at the right time, so that she could not find any chance to talk to Yu Yi privately.

Sima Jun was such a stubborn guy, maybe because he had nothing to do on the boat, that even though he couldn't find anything to say, he just sat in Yu Yi's boat house and refused to leave.

Sun Wei was preoccupied with her own affairs, and in front of Sima Jun, she could say nothing except some trivial pleasantries.

However, Yu Yi was exhausted and kept falling into a coma.

So, most of the time, the three of them stayed in the boat house, and it was eerily quiet.

Fortunately, Sun Wei was at least certain that Yu Yi had no chance to speak to Sima Jun in private.

Now that I'm off the boat, things are different.

Sun Wei couldn't help but wonder if Yu Yi would suddenly open up to Sima Jun on the road and reveal her identity.

Fortunately, Yu Yi did not make her wait too long.

Near dusk, Yu Yi's servant arrived at her courtyard and reported, "I have found the 'Feng Xiu Collection' that the princess asked me to find last time. It is now with you. The young master is quite interested in the princess's collection and would like to hear your opinion. I wonder if you would be willing to come over and have a chat?"

"Is the young master back?" Sun Wei asked, "Where is the prince?"

"The young master said that the governor had hosted a banquet, but he was feeling unwell and had to leave early. The prince is still in the governor's residence, talking to him, and will be back later."

Sun Wei understood that this was the opportunity arranged by Yu Yi, and stood up immediately.

Yu Yi was the only one in the room.

He leaned on the couch and flipped through a book by candlelight. The book was "Feng Xiu's Collection of Essays".

Seeing Sun Wei coming, he stood up and bowed, inviting Sun Wei to sit down.

"Please show me something interesting, Princess." He said as he turned to the last page of the collection.

"I discovered that there are four small characters on the last page of each collection. I didn't understand their meaning at first, but then I realized they were the copyist's private signature."

He then spread the pages of the book under the candlelight. His slender finger pointed at the four small words on the lower right corner: "Seeing the details reveals the big picture."
