Chapter 312 Sun Zhi (IV)

Chapter 312 Sun Zhi (IV)

Sun Zhi looked up at the sound and was stunned.

The person who came was Li Mo.

Facing his surprised face, Li Mo asked with a smile, "I asked Master Sun to go to Guangzhou for duty. Why did you come back? It was Master Sun who begged me for this position. Could it be that he is not satisfied with Li's arrangement?"

"No!" Sun Zhi suddenly said, "I am very grateful for your arrangement, sir. I came back just to visit my family."

"Oh? If you're visiting family, why are you staying at the inn instead of going home?"

"I am..."

"Not only is Mr. Sun not going home, he's also in a hurry to see the Prince of Yuzhang. I wonder what's the urgent matter? Could you tell me about it?"

As he spoke, he raised his hand and moved the torture device on the wall. "I advise Mr. Sun to tell the truth, so I can save myself the trouble. Okay?"

——

When Sima Jun arrived at the residence of the Seventh Lieutenant Commander, Liang Huang came to greet him in person.

Liang Huang was a civil servant with elegant manners. Although he knew Sima Jun's intentions were not good, he still greeted him with a smile.

Sima Jun naturally didn't bother to exchange pleasantries with him: "No need for that. Please return the person that Chief Liang just took away as soon as possible."

Liang Huang did not back down at all. He simply bowed and said, "I am here to investigate the case. Please don't make it difficult for me, Your Highness."

Sima Jun looked at him coldly and asked, "Is that person related to Lu Qiuyan's case?"

Liang Huang said, "Someone saw this man at the same dock as Lü Qiuyan, so I took him into custody for questioning."

"What nonsense." Sima Jun said, and ignored him and walked towards the prison.

Liang Hou seemed to be well prepared. Soldiers swarmed in and surrounded Sima Jun and others.

Sima Jun glanced around and asked, "What does Liang Zongguan mean?"

Liang Huang said, "This is the Seventh Lieutenant's Division. Please don't embarrass me, my Lord."

After hearing this, Sima Jun suddenly stopped being anxious.

He glanced at the curtains, walked straight to the hall and sat down.

"I had been planning to make this trip for a long time, but unfortunately I've been injured and can't move. The Seventh Lieutenant's troops pursued Lu Qiuyan this time, but they didn't get any results. How do you want to explain this to the General?"

Liang Huang said, "Lü Qiuyan was cunning, and I was indeed careless. I have already apologized to the Crown Prince, and he has ordered me to investigate thoroughly and make amends."

"Track them down to the end?" Sima Juan sneered. "Everyone's gone. How is Chief Steward Liang going to track them down?"

Liang Huang replied, "Please give me some time, Your Majesty. I will give you an explanation."

"That's great."

Sima Jun finished speaking and asked, "Where is the etiquette of the Seventh Lieutenant? We've been here for so long, and you haven't even had a sip of tea?"

Liang Huang was stunned for a moment, then quickly apologized and asked for tea.

Sima Jun took it and, in full view of everyone, he slowly and leisurely sipped the tea, as if no one was around.

Liang Huang was quite puzzled by his behavior, but seeing that Sima Jun had no intention of continuing the commotion, he waved his hand and asked the guards to withdraw.

But then Sima Jun said, "Wait, everyone stay."

Liang Huang looked over and saw Sima Jun still drinking his tea. He said slowly, "I need to find out who is blocking my way today."

After he said that, he asked Yin Wen to get a pen and paper and write down the names and positions of everyone present.

Everyone was stunned and froze in place for a moment.

"What is the prince doing?" Liang Huang asked hurriedly.

"Today, the Seventh Lieutenant's Division intercepted my men. They left a message saying they were acting on the Crown Prince's orders," Sima Jun said. "I've already gone to the Eastern Palace to inquire. They want proof, which is why I'm here. If I don't even know these people's names, how can I ask the Crown Prince to speak on my behalf?"

Liang Huang was about to speak, but Sima Jun looked at him and asked, "Are you planning to disobey orders, Chief Steward Liang?"

Although Liang Huang was dissatisfied, he could do nothing but watch Yin Wen walk around, register everyone one by one, and then present the list to Sima Jun.

Sima Jun took a look and said, "How can we miss the name of Liang Zongguan? Add it."

Yin Wen whispered, "Prince, it's almost time."

After hearing this, Sima Jun finally put down his teacup, stood up and said, "Everything is done, I won't bother you anymore."

Just as he finished speaking, a commotion came from the backyard of the government office, and someone shouted, "Prisoner kidnapping! Someone is kidnapping a prisoner!"

Liang Huang hurried out and saw that Sun Zhi had been kidnapped by people from Prince Yuzhang's Mansion.

He suddenly realized that Sima Jun's previous action was just to delay time.

"I'm afraid the prince's action is inappropriate." Liang Huang said in a cold voice.

Sima Jun sneered, "When Chief Steward Liang kidnapped my people without my permission, did you ever consider that it was inappropriate?"

After he said that, he crumpled the list in his hand into a ball, threw it on the ground, and left with Yin Wen and others.

Even though Liang Huang felt aggrieved, he was also thinking about something else.

He hurried to the cell and saw Li Mo was the only one sitting in the dim room.

"Has the sir been seen by anyone?" Liang Huang asked hurriedly.

Li Mo looked back at him and smiled. "No, I heard that the prince was coming, so I knew that General Liang couldn't stop him. I left the cell early and found a room to stay in. General, don't worry, I have already troubled you so much, I will not cause you any more trouble."

Liang Huang's heart was at ease. He asked, "It's only been a few short incense sticks. Have you asked everything you wanted to ask?"

"Of course it's too late. However, I did have a pleasant surprise." Li Mo's lips curled up into a smile, "I wonder who she is?"

——

Sun Zhi seemed to be still frightened and was still in a daze when he returned to Tangyuan.

"Did the people from the Seventh Lieutenant's Department just use violence against you, young master?" Sima Jun asked.

Sun Zhi regained consciousness and quickly shook his head, "No, they just locked me up in a room, and before they could question me, the prince arrived."

"So, Master Sun never told anyone about the princess, correct?"

"Of course not," Sun Zhi said, "How could I tell others about such an important matter?"

"That's very good," Sima Jun nodded. "After what happened today, Young Master Sun must be tired. I have a separate courtyard where you can go and rest. As for Mr. Lu, why don't you tell me the specific address and I will send someone to bring him back."

Sun Zhi looked at him with some hesitation in his eyes.

He then said, "Mr. Lu is shy when he's ill. The Crown Prince's men must have met Mr. Lu before, and rushing there might irritate him. How about waiting until tomorrow, when I've rested, and then go with the generals to look for Mr. Lu?"

Sima Jun said, "This is easy to handle. I have a retainer in my house. He was the one who went to discuss marriage with Mr. Lu when the late king first proposed marriage. He had a very pleasant conversation with Mr. Lu, and I believe Mr. Lu still remembers him. I will send him."

Li Mo's words echoed in Sun Zhi's mind:

——"Sir, you don't even know who the Prince of Yuzhang is, yet you dare to seek the skin of a tiger. How arrogant! Do you think the Prince cares about you? He cares about Mr. Lu. Once you hand Mr. Lu over to him, you will be of no use to him."

"Then I'll go myself," Sun Zhi said. "I'm not tired and can leave right now."

Sima Jun looked at him deeply.

Sun Zhi's eyes flashed and he lowered his head.

"Alright," Sima Jun said, "Then I'll have to trouble Master Sun."

Sima Jun then ordered Deng Lian to take Sun Zhi to find Lu Ming.

After watching the two leave, Sima Jun gave Yin Wen some more instructions before returning home.
