Chapter 63 Wang Hom

Chapter 63 Wang Hom

Wang Han knew that he had invited people from the Yuzhang Palace, and the people he sent knew the limits and did not use any violence.

Sun Wei knew that this meeting would eventually come, so he did not disobey.

She took A'ru with her and left. She knew Deng Lian was still in the mansion and would deliver a message to Sima Jun.

Wang Hom's residence was in the city.

As soon as I entered, I saw the person sitting in the middle of the hall.

Wang Ho, nearing his fifties, was a descendant of the Wang clan of Taiyuan and the patriarch of the Wang family. He and the Queen Mother were of the same clan, and according to seniority, he addressed her as aunt. Born with intelligence, Wang Ho gained fame for his talent at a young age, earning the Queen Mother's favor. Later, with the eldest princess's marriage, Wang Ho's support and advancement through the Queen Mother's ranks were a natural progression. With his family's support, Wang Ho's career was smooth sailing, and the only thing left to achieve true power was military authority.

It’s a pity that it didn’t work out today, and I don’t know when it will work out again.

Sun Wei bowed politely, "Princess Lu of Yuzhang pays respects to the Prince of Yuzhang."

Wang Han did not stand up, but just bowed lightly and pointed to the table beside him.

"Please take a seat, Princess."

Sun Wei didn't hesitate and sat down. The hall was very quiet, with only the sound of the maid pouring tea.

Not long after, Wang Zhi brought Jiang in.

"Madam, please see clearly. The one who took General Cheng away today is the Princess of Yuzhang in front of you."

Jiang timidly glanced at Sun Wei and nodded quickly: "That's right."

Wang Hao turned to Sun Wei and said, "Please tell me the truth, Princess. Where did General Cheng go?"

Everything was so direct. Sun Wei knew that Wang Han had no patience left.

She glanced at Jiang and felt secretly sorry that Cheng's mother was such a smart person, but her son and daughter-in-law were so confused.

It's obvious that Wang Han is here to seek revenge, so what's the point of helping him?

"What Wang Pushe asked is strange," Sun Wei calmly turned to Wang Han. "I did meet General Cheng at the Cheng residence today, but we parted ways after leaving. General Cheng is a healthy man, so how would I know where he was going?"

Wang Heng's eyes were gloomy, and he ordered everyone to leave.

Sun Wei asked A Ru to withdraw as well. But just as A Ru was about to move, a knife was already sharpened on the back of her neck.

The atmosphere suddenly became tense.

"What does Wang Pushe mean?" Sun Wei asked coldly.

"I have no intention of beating around the bush with you, Princess. Why don't you tell me the truth about Cheng Yu's whereabouts?" Wang Hao said, "Your chances are short."

Sun Wei understood what he meant.

He couldn't do anything to Princess Yuzhang, but it was easy for him to do anything to the maidservant beside her.

Sun Wei said, "If Wang Pushe wants to ask, I still say the same thing. I don't know where General Cheng has gone. Wang Pushe is powerful and influential, and if he wants to take action, I can't stop him. But, Wang Pushe, do you know the consequences? We can get away with it with verbal arguments, but once blood is drawn, it will be difficult to resolve peacefully."

Throughout his life, Wang Han experienced many ups and downs in his official career. He claimed to have seen countless people, but not many dared to bluff in front of him. If there were any, they were probably of Sun Wei's age, young and arrogant, relying on the false reputation above them and having no sense of propriety.

He sneered, "Is this a threat, Princess?"

"It's not a threat, I'm just trying to persuade you sincerely. I have an old story, and I wonder if Wang Pushe still remembers it?"

Sun Wei looked directly at Wang Hao and said, "When Prince Lingling was demoted to a commoner, the Queen Mother said something to Wang Pushe."

Wang Han was stunned for a moment, his face color changing slightly.

Back then, the Queen Mother did summon Wang Han to her side and give him a lecture.

"Bo Ya, you and I both know why Prince Lingling was demoted to a commoner. You have your ambitions, you want to be the greatest prime minister of all time, and I won't stop you. Now you're targeting Concubine Zhang's son, and I'll turn a blind eye. But let me be frank: if you dare to touch a hair on my children or grandchildren, I'll be the first to kill you!"

Sun Wei asked, "Your Highness the Crown Prince and the Prince of Yuzhang are both the Empress Dowager's grandsons. Wang Pushe first used the Crown Prince to take the Northern Palace, and now he's trying to take the Yuzhang Palace. If the Empress Dowager learns of this, what will she do?"

Wang Han stared at Sun Wei with a cold face.

How did she know that? When the Queen Mother said that, she dismissed everyone, and it was clear that only he and the eldest princess were present.

Despite his fluctuating thoughts, Wang Han still maintained the courage to remain calm even when faced with a mountain collapsing in front of him.

He said slowly, "Who said I was using the Crown Prince to take over the Northern Palace? Who said I was going to attack the Prince of Yuzhang's Palace?"

"No one is here for now," Sun Wei said, "but if Wang Pushe is determined to oppose the Crown Prince and the Crown Prince, then it's hard to say."

A ball of anger burned in Wang Han's heart.

Was he the one who was against the Sima family's kid? It was clearly that kid who didn't know what was good for him!

Wang Han clenched his fists and managed to calm the anger in his body.

Sun Wei continued to drink tea slowly.

Wang Han, thanks to the Empress Dowager, rose to prominence, yet was also held back by her. They seemed to share a common lineage, yet their paths diverged on the fate of the throne. Wang Han sought to usurp the Sima clan, while the Empress Dowager sought to remain in the present, ensuring the Sima clan ruled the world and the Wang clan governed the government. She wanted to have it both ways, without betraying either.

So Wang Huan was holding his breath, especially when he had to bow to the prince, he was always reluctant.

But even though he was reluctant, he had to accept this reality. The Crown Prince had the Queen Mother's backing; if he tried to overstep the line, he would have to consider the consequences. Given the Queen Mother's prestige within the Wang family, she could easily alienate Wang Han. If he wanted to go further, he would probably have to wait many years, until both the Emperor and the Queen Mother died.

Sun Wei softened her tone and said, "Whether Wang Pushe believes it or not, I really don't know where General Cheng has gone. But there is one thing I can tell Wang Pushe. General Cheng did look for me. He knew that his plan had been exposed and his death was imminent, so he asked me for advice. I only advised him to change his ways. As for where General Cheng has decided to go, I really don't know."

"Cheng Yu is asking you for advice?" Wang Han sneered. "Cheng Yu is the acting governor of the Northern Prefecture. Why would he ask the princess for advice?"

Wang Han was a respectable man after all, and was too embarrassed to mention the word "woman" out loud, but his disdain was evident in his words.

Sun Wei said, "Since I am worth nothing to Wang Pushe, how can I know where General Cheng is? I'm afraid Wang Pushe has found the wrong person."

After she said that, she stood up and left.

"Wait a minute," Wang Han said suddenly. "I've been ordered by the Crown Prince to serve as a juror. I suspect Princess Lu of Yuzhang deliberately let the former Acting Governor of the Northern Palace, Cheng Yu, go. Someone, arrest the Concubine and await interrogation."

"Who dares!" Aju kicked down the guard who had just subdued her, snatched the scimitar, and stood in front of Sun Wei.

"Where did this wicked slave come from?" Wang Han shouted, "Leave the princess behind. Anyone else who dares to disobey will be killed without mercy!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a calm voice came from outside.

"Wang Pushe wanted to touch the people from my Yuzhang Palace. Did he inform me before?"
