Chapter 76: Princess

Chapter 76: Princess

The woman widened her eyes and looked at Sun Wei.

"We don't know any Princess Yuzhang. Madam, please go back."

After she finished speaking, she was about to close the door when she heard Sun Wei say, "I know where Grand Tutor Zhou is."

The door was halfway closed when it suddenly stopped.

The woman looked at Sun Wei suspiciously for a moment longer and said, "Madam, you know, this is not something to be taken lightly."

"I am not kidding, please see me, sir."

The woman asked Sun Wei to wait for a moment. Soon, the door of the nunnery opened and an old woman in her sixties walked out.

The lady was dressed simply, was slightly plump, and looked very energetic.

Before Sun Wei could even salute, Guo Shun beside him had already fallen to his knees, trembling, and shouted, "Greetings to the Princess Wanshou!"

Seeing this, the people behind him also knelt down and saluted.

Princess Wanshou didn't even glance at Guo Shun, staring straight at Sun Wei: "Who said they knew the whereabouts of Grand Tutor Zhou?"

Sun Wei bowed and said, "My concubine Lu greets Princess Wanshou."

Princess Wanshou stepped forward and stood before Guo Shun. "I remember you were the Crown Prince's servant?"

"Yes, yes!" Guo Shun said, "My name is Guo Shun, and I am the eunuch serving the Crown Prince."

"Hmm." Princess Wanshou said in a deep voice, "Is this person really the Prince of Yuzhang's concubine?"

"It's absolutely true." Guo Shun said, "The concubine entered the family in April this year."

Princess Wanshou didn't answer, but turned around and said as she walked, "Lu, follow me. The rest of you, please wait outside."

Sun Wei replied "yes", gave Aju a few instructions, and then followed Princess Wanshou in.

The door of the nunnery slammed shut, blocking everyone out.

A'ru took a deep breath and whispered to Guo Shun, "Who is this Princess Wanshou? She's so arrogant."

Guo Shun whispered, "Princess Wanshou was the only daughter of Princess Kuaiji, the Yuan Emperor. Back then, the Wang family was at its peak, even sharing the throne with the imperial family. Princess Kuaiji married into the Wang family, and after she gave birth to a daughter, the Yuan Emperor conferred the title of Princess. This was a truly remarkable honor since the founding of the nation."

A'ru thought for a moment and said, "So, she and Wang Pushe are relatives?"

"She's Wang Pushe's aunt," Guo Shun said. "According to seniority, the Queen Mother should call her sister. In the past, Princess Wanshou made a great contribution to the Queen Mother's entry into the palace."

Ah Ru suddenly realized: "Why would such a person live in the wilderness?"

Guo Shun was very secretive about this and simply replied with two words: "Don't ask."

"Who is that Grand Tutor Zhou?" A'ru asked persistently.

Seeing her curious look, Guo Shun shook his head helplessly: "If I answer, you are not allowed to ask again."

Aju nodded vigorously.

Guo Shun whispered, "Grandmaster Zhou is the princess's husband. Some time ago, due to matters at court, Grandmaster Zhou ran away from home and has not returned since. The princess has been looking for him."

"Oh, what's the matter that requires you to run away from home?"

Guo Shun glared at her: "Still asking!"

A'ru smiled apologetically and said, "I won't ask anymore. Eunuch Guo, please don't be angry."

On the other side, Sun Wei followed Princess Wanshou into the hall.

Despite being in the middle of nowhere, the furnishings inside the house were meticulously crafted. Every table, every desk, and even the incense in the copper burner were precious items.

Princess Wanshou is a straightforward person.

She casually pointed to a small couch and motioned Sun Wei to sit down.

"Tell me, where is Tutor Zhou?" Princess Wanshou asked directly.

"In Lushan."

After hearing this, Princess Wanshou sneered and whispered, "You tricked me into going out to sea, and in the end you hid in the mountains. Do you really think I'm a monster?"

She looked at Sun Wei again and said, "I understand. You can go now."

Sun Wei did not feel offended. She just replied, "Take care, Princess," and then said goodbye and left without any hesitation.

When they reached the door, Princess Wanshou said, "You're young, but you're incredibly patient. Did you come all this way just to tell me where Grand Tutor Zhou is?"

Sun Wei turned around and said, "Of course not. But the princess hasn't found Tutor Zhou yet, so she doesn't owe me anything. It's inappropriate for me to make any demands at this time."

Princess Wanshou said, "Even if I find it, I may not agree to your request."

Sun smiled and said, "Then I have done a good deed, and I do not regret it."

Princess Wanshou scoffed, "Come on, since you've found this place, you're not just some good person doing good deeds. That lecherous Prince Yuzhang did marry a decent concubine."

She still asked Sun Wei to sit down: "Tell me, what do you want me to do for you? I don't want to owe you a favor for no reason."

Sun Wei stepped forward, bowed, and said, "I have offended Wang Pushe, and I would like to ask the princess to be my guarantor."

Princess Wanshou raised her eyebrows and asked, "You are quite an interesting woman. You are the wife of Prince Yuzhang. If you offended Boya, why didn't you ask Prince Yuzhang to be your guarantor?"

Sun Wei said: "The princess has no distractions and does not care about worldly affairs. I am afraid she does not know that my husband has passed away."

Seeing her surprised expression, Sun Wei knew that she was completely unaware of the situation, so he told her the whole story of Prince Yuzhang's death.

"So," Princess Wanshou said, "Prince Yuzhang died on the way to marry you?"

"Exactly."

"And yet you're not dead?" Princess Wanshou smiled faintly. "How could the Queen Mother let you go?"

"The Queen Mother is kind and did not embarrass me."

"Come on." Princess Wanshou waved her hand. "Don't I know her temper? She has many ways to vent her anger. There's no need to rush."

She paused as she spoke, "So that's why you came to me. You know my relationship with the Queen Mother and Bo Ya, and you want me to come forward and ask them to let you go?"

Sun Wei said frankly: "The princess is a smart person, and I have nothing to hide."

"What did you do to offend Bo Ya?"

Sun Wei immediately told Princess Wanshou about the Jingkou mutiny.

Princess Wanshou listened, turning the rosary in her hand, but her eyes showed some disbelief.

She had long known that Wang Han had ambitions for Beifu; she could also understand why the Crown Prince and Sima Jun were desperately trying to defend Beifu; but she found it hard to believe that the woman before her could ruin Wang Han's careful plans by using the art of divination.

Based on her understanding of Wang Han, he was a vengeful person and he really couldn't let this woman go.

"Does the Queen Mother know about this?" asked Princess Wanshou.

"The Crown Prince and Wang Pushe have discussed this matter and decided to leave it at that. They won't delve into it any further. Therefore, the Queen Mother only knows about the mutiny in the Northern Palace, but not the inner workings."

"This is a sound solution," Princess Wanshou nodded. "It would benefit no one if things got out of hand. The Crown Prince has become more composed and steady."

As she spoke, she looked at Sun Wei again: "Could it be that you proposed this method to the Crown Prince?"

Sun Wei remained silent: "I am only giving advice. The final decision on how to deal with this is entirely up to the Crown Prince."

That's it.

Princess Wanshou finally looked at Sun Wei seriously.

"Then won't the Crown Prince and Prince Yuzhang protect you?" Princess Wanshou asked, "You've done them so much good, and they're indifferent?"
