After mid-October, the forest area got colder day by day.
However, it's warmer here compared to the Greater Khingan Mountains.
Most people have changed into thick clothes and shoes.
In a single-story house, the heat from the heated kang (a traditional heated brick bed) and the heated walls is sufficient.
The stove hasn't been started yet.
At dawn, the platform of the city's train station was bustling with activity.
Compared to those people carrying luggage and fertilizer bags and hurrying along, Gu Wei and Gu Jianguo both carried small bags and didn't look like they were rushing to catch a train at all.
With a few minutes left before boarding, Gu Wei reminded him again, "Grandpa, please be careful on the way. If you encounter any problems transferring your household registration back in the village, don't worry about the money; consider it a loss to avoid further trouble."
There were other reasons why Gu Wei was so eager for them to transfer their household registration.
In case Gu Honghe and his group suddenly remember this relative and start writing letters to contact them.
If the three of them are registered in the village, Gu Jianguo and the others will definitely go back because of things like houses and land.
He can't follow you every second.
Things then became out of control.
Gu Jianguo was both amused and exasperated. He was over thirty years old, and if he didn't understand this simple principle, he was doomed.
"I know. But you guys, after I leave, don't just eat whatever you can find. Didn't I specially steam a few pots of steamed buns, rolls, and bean buns and put them in the big vat in the storeroom? When you don't feel like eating rice, just pick out some dry food and heat it up in the big pot. As for the dishes, your great-grandmother's cooking is quite good, so you don't need to bother that fourth little one all the time..."
Gu Wei said with a smile, "Don't worry, I can cook too. I definitely won't let Grandma get tired. When you come back in a few days, we might even have gained weight."
Gu Jianguo chuckled, "That would be perfect."
Gu Wei helped Gu Jianguo onto the hard-seat carriage and then got off.
He only looked away when the train sounded its whistle and slowly drove away from him.
Just then, Gu Wei suddenly heard someone calling his name.
I subconsciously turned my head to look over there.
Then, his gaze sharpened.
He spotted a familiar figure in the crowd.
Xu Kailin, carrying black briefcases in both hands and looking travel-worn, strode towards him.
"Brother Gu."
Gu Wei was somewhat surprised, "You just got off the bus? Does Li Bin know you're here?"
Xu Kailin laughed, "I didn't tell anyone, I just came straight over. What a coincidence! Brother Gu, are you going out, or did you come to see someone off?"
Gu Wei frankly said, "I came to see someone off. Let me help you carry one."
Xu Kailin quickly dodged, "No need, Brother Gu, I can carry it."
Seeing his resolute attitude, Gu Wei did not press him further.
The two walked and talked as they left the train station.
When they arrived at the clothing store, they saw that the wooden shutters on the windows had been lowered.
Because it was a bit early, only Li Bin and Zhou Kai were in the store.
Several sales clerks haven't come to work yet.
Li Bin was shocked to see Xu Kailin and the God of Wealth appear before him together.
"Brother Gu, Lao Xu, what's going on here...?"
Gu Wei had anticipated Li Bin's reaction. He suppressed a laugh and explained, "I went to the train station to see my great-uncle off and happened to run into Lao Xu."
Li Bin feigned sudden realization, "Oh, I see. That's quite a coincidence."
After entering the store, Xu Kailin looked around, his small eyes gleaming.
He had been to the Forestry Bureau's shop before, but back then they only sold summer clothes, mostly skirts.
Now that I've switched to autumn and winter clothes, the feeling is immediately different.
"Brother Gu, the clothes and general merchandise sold in your store are quite fashionable, even better than those in the provincial capital's department stores."
Before Gu Wei could speak, Li Bin interjected, "What's so special about a lousy provincial capital? These are all goods from the south, they're bound to be fashionable."
Xu Kailin somewhat agreed with him, "That's true."
Seeing this, Gu Wei smiled but said nothing.
In fact, he was very cautious when he was sourcing the goods.
Almost all the clothes were in the style of the 1980s, nothing too avant-garde or daring.
If you're really serious, there are still differences in fabrics and craftsmanship even after decades.
Fortunately, the clothing styles in fishing villages and Guangcheng are becoming increasingly diverse.
Various clothing trade fairs have sprung up like mushrooms after rain.
Most people view those places that have developed first with longing and a thick filter of idealism.
Therefore, the phrase "goods from the south" can instantly kill everything.
Subsequently, Li Bin handed over the sales figures and ledgers for the past two days.
Wang Shufen and Chen Hong also came to work.
Xu Kailin hadn't eaten breakfast yet.
Gu Wei didn't have much of an appetite because she got up early.
I only ate a boiled egg and drank a bowl of porridge at home, and I'm a little hungry now after all this fuss.
They invited Li Bin and Zhou Kai to go out for dinner together.
Gu Wei had a very good impression of Zhou Kai, Li Bin's friend.
Since he started working here, he usually spends his days in the store, just like Jin Hongfei.
Jin Hongfei's true intentions were not what they seemed; he actually wanted to date Wang Shufen.
Zhou Kai, however, was different. He once told Gu Wei that he wanted to learn and see more things.
After finishing his meal, Zhou Kai went back to the shop to help out.
Gu Wei, Xu Kailin, and Li Bin headed straight to the train station to return to the Forestry Bureau.
Along the way, the three of them chatted freely about many things.
However, everyone intentionally avoided the topic of watches and partners.
After getting off the car, Gu Wei and his group had just arrived near the clothing store when the door was opened from the inside.
