Chapter 172 Trip to the Capital

In 1986, during the Spring Festival, people visited relatives and friends and gathered together to talk about the Spring Festival Gala, as well as "Journey to the West," which became a sensation and received a warm response nationwide as soon as it was broadcast on the first night of the Lunar New Year.

Although only the first eleven episodes were broadcast, it became a timeless classic that can be watched endlessly.

Gu Wei watched the episode "The Monkey King's Witty Revenge" with his family before preparing to leave.

Before leaving, Gu Jianguo specially brought him a lot of food that he had made, filling a whole bag.

Gu Wei took the modern car back directly and even shared the braised food with his girlfriend who came to his house.

Zhou Wenyi, with her delicate features, munched on a braised chicken foot, her eyes shining as she said, "So delicious! Where did you buy it?"

"I didn't buy them. They were made by a friend's elders, and they gave me some. If you like them, take some with you to keep as a snack."

"Okay, okay." Zhou Wenyi has a body type that doesn't gain weight easily, so she can confidently accept anyone who comes her way.

Gu Wei didn't want to delve deeper into this topic, so she changed the subject, "I've been quite busy lately, but I finally have some free time now. Is there anywhere you'd like to go?"

Zhou Wenyi's attention was immediately diverted, and she asked with a look of surprise and excitement, "Can we go anywhere?"

Gu Wei affectionately pinched her nose. "Of course. I'll go with you wherever you go."

Zhou Wenyi clearly already had an idea in mind, and blurted out, "Then I want to go to Disneyland."

Although she has been to several Disneyland locations with her best friend, she has not been with her boyfriend yet.

“No problem.” Gu Wei knew his girlfriend liked anime and figurines, so she would naturally like to go to Disneyland where she could see cartoon characters.

"Honey, you're so good to me!"

Zhou Wenyi happily put her arm around Gu Wei with one hand. If she weren't worried about being disliked for eating chicken feet, she would definitely have given him a sweet kiss.

With a warm, fragrant body in his arms and her calling him "husband," how could Gu Wei, a young man full of vigor, not have any thoughts?

Their eyes met, and they both saw sparks and longing in each other's eyes.

And so, even in broad daylight, a steamy scene quickly unfolded...

Gu Wei and Zhou Wenyi soon embarked on a spontaneous trip.

This made Song Daming and the other working-class people extremely envious, and they all sighed that it's really good to be rich.

After landing, the two checked into their hotel.

That evening, they first went to Disney Town, where they strolled around and took lots of photos.

We went to Disneyland early the next morning.

It was only then that Gu Wei belatedly realized how lucky and important it was that he had such good filming skills.

Inside the park, he saw several couples arguing because their boyfriends' photos weren't good, and one girl was even sitting on a chair crying because she was so angry.

Wearing a bright-colored dress and a Mickey Mouse headband, Zhou Wenyi felt fortunate but also understood these girls.

After all, when you come here to have fun, who doesn't want to take lots of nice photos? If your boyfriend takes such ugly pictures that you cry, you'll really be furious.

Gu Wei noticed that his girlfriend's eyes were filled with even more admiration and love as she looked at him, so he deliberately teased her in a serious tone, "If I take a bad picture of you, will you cry too?"

"Probably not. And there are no ifs, every single one of the photos you took is beautiful." Zhou Wenyi had already looked at some of the photos while waiting in line and was very satisfied with them.

Who doesn't like to hear nice things? Gu Wei was no exception.

The two happily held hands and continued their sightseeing as planned, leaving behind their footprints and wonderful memories.

When young couples go on a trip, some will find their relationship blossoming, while others will face arguments and breakups.

Gu Wei and Zhou Wenyi clearly belong to the former category.

After the trip, I love it even more.

Gu Wei is successful in love, and his career in both time periods is also thriving, generating profits every day.

In early May of 1986, Gu Wei went to the capital.

He plans to renovate the courtyard house he bought last year and then buy a few more smaller courtyard houses.

As for the commercial housing in Fangzhuang, construction hasn't started yet, so you'll have to wait patiently if you want to buy.

In an antique shop in Liulichang, Hou Yongxian and a young shop assistant dressed in cloth robes were serving two customers at the counter.

When Hou Yongxian saw Gu Wei, whom he hadn't seen in a long time, carrying a bag as he walked in, he was a little shocked and went to greet him.

"Gu Wei! When did you get here?"

"Yesterday. Grandpa Hou, how have you been?"

Gu Wei was dressed in a white shirt and jeans, with a neatly trimmed short haircut. He looked so smart that people would believe he was a college student. Most people would never guess that he was a self-employed individual.

"Everything's fine. Xiao Hang is in school now, and Xiao Yu is at the Open University. They should be coming to the shop later. What about you and your grandpa?"

Hou Yongxian was deeply grateful to Gu Wei. Even though his grandchildren had moved here and they occasionally kept in touch, they hadn't seen each other for a long time.

Gu Wei already knew that Lin Hang was recovering well after the surgery and that Lin Yu had been admitted to the Open University.

"We are all fine."

Gu Wei didn't treat himself as an outsider. "Grandpa Hou, you go ahead and do your work. Don't worry about me. We can have a proper chat later."

Hou Yongxian didn't stand on ceremony with him, "Okay, then find a place to sit."

Gu Wei didn't sit down immediately, but instead looked around the shop.

It's said that the antique business might not open for three years, but once it does, it can sustain you for three years.

That's not entirely true.

Before the craze for collecting started, there were probably more people wanting to sell old items than buying them, and the prices weren't very high.
