Chapter Eleven: A Great Thing

Gu Wei took in Chu Sitong's reaction and smiled, "I can handle the initial renovation work by myself."

Gu Wei knew that, at present, it seemed highly likely that he would lose money.

Given the difficulty in finding a job, and the fact that Song Daming's current company is quite good, it's perfectly normal for Chu Sitong to be unwilling.

Song Daming naturally saw his girlfriend's expression and felt a little helpless: "Okay, then just let me know if you need any help running errands."

Gu Wei told them to wander around as they pleased.

He went to watch the locksmith change the lock.

After the lock was changed, the three of them left.

Although the decor is simple, the restaurant is quite spacious.

Gu Wei wants to find a reliable renovation company.

You must compare prices from at least three different vendors.

So, when he wasn't busy, he went to a watch wholesaler and bought a thousand old-style watches.

Then I bought a lot of loose candy and pastries, as well as pork ribs, and went there in 1984.

Gu Wei carefully observed his surroundings from a secluded spot before carrying his bag and heading towards the station.

Just then, the minibus heading to Zhao Dajiang's Qingfeng Forest Farm arrived.

Gu Wei boarded the bus and paid 80 cents for a ticket.

After getting off the bus, Gu Wei, carrying her bag, had only walked a short distance into the forest farm's residential area when she encountered a boy who looked to be fourteen or fifteen years old.

The other person stopped, looked Gu Wei up and down, his eyes gleaming, and asked cautiously, "You must be Brother Gu?"

Gu Wei carefully examined him for a moment and noticed that the young man resembled Grandpa Liu somewhat. His gaze fell on the new watch on the young man's left wrist, and he had his answer.

"Who are you……"

The young man said urgently, "I am Liu Shouyi's grandson, Liu Yingdi!"

"Hello."

Gu Wei had also prepared some food for the Liu family, so he took it out of his bag and handed it to him.

"I just happened to run into you. This is for your grandparents. I stayed at your house for several days when Uncle Zhao's son got married."

"Brother Gu, you're too kind." Liu Yingdi's parents both work and their family is well-off, but they can only satisfy their craving for meat occasionally.

"Take it quickly." Gu Wei forced it into Liu Yingdi's hand.

Liu Yingdi had no choice but to accept it, and then carried the bag and walked with Gu Wei.

We passed by the Liu family's house first. Liu Shouyi was sitting at the door, comfortably basking in the sun with his eyes closed.

Seeing his grandson walk with Gu Wei, he sat up straight, quite surprised.

"Xiao Gu, you're here."

"Grandpa Liu, I managed to get some meat. You can stew it for lunch."

Upon seeing such a large piece of meat with alternating layers of fat and lean, Liu Shouyi reacted strongly: "You young man, you're too... Take it back quickly, or give it to Dajiang and the others."

“They have some too, Grandpa Liu, I’ll go over first.” Gu Wei gestured to the large bag he was carrying.

Liu Shouyi did not refuse or stand on ceremony any longer, and watched him walk away with loving eyes, knowing in his heart that this was a kind and honest young man.

"grandfather."

"Take it inside, and let your grandma make it at noon."

With permission granted, Liu Yingdi happily jogged back to the yard.

As Gu Wei entered the Zhao family home, he had just called out "Uncle Zhao" when the big yellow dog in the yard immediately wagged its tail enthusiastically.

Tang Jiamei also rushed out of the house.

When she saw that it was Gu Wei, she smiled with delight: "Little Gu is here, come in quickly."

Gu Wei greeted her with a big smile: "Aunt Zhao."

Presumably because he grew up with his grandfather and female elders were absent from his family, he really liked the kind and gentle Aunt Zhao and felt a sense of closeness to her.

After entering the east room, Gu Wei did not see Zhao Dajiang and casually asked him about it.

"My Uncle Zhao isn't home?"

"He went up the mountain to gather things again." Tang Jiamei glanced at the clock. "He went with my family, and they should be back soon."

Gu Wei asked in surprise, "Yuanzi didn't go to work after getting married?"

"Not yet. He just accompanied his wife back to her parents' home yesterday and plans to go back to work down the mountain tomorrow."

Gu Wei took out all the things he had bought for them.

This made Tang Jiamei feel very embarrassed, and she also felt that it was too much and too valuable, so she didn't want to accept it.

The two of them pulled and tugged at each other for a long time.

Tang Jiamei reluctantly agreed to accept it.

Zhao Dajiang and his son returned very quickly, as expected.

Upon seeing Gu Wei, Zhao Dajiang couldn't help but pat him on the shoulder with a smile.

"You finally came, kid. I even went down the mountain to look for you, but I didn't know where you were staying. I came back because I couldn't find you."

Gu Wei's heart skipped a beat, but he remained calm and composed, replying, "I went to other places. Uncle Zhao, where can you find me?"

At the same time, he was thinking that he should be more careful in the future to avoid arousing suspicion.

Zhao Dajiang nodded, "That's true."

Zhao Zhengyuan was extremely enthusiastic when he saw Gu Wei.

After chatting for a while, Gu Wei said, "I don't know if Uncle Zhao or you guys are interested in selling watches with me."

Zhao Dajiang and the other two were stunned, not expecting Gu Wei to have such a thought.

How much does it cost?

Although there are risks involved in this, the bold will thrive while the timid will starve.

Seeing that Gu Wei had goods, Zhao Dajiang had considered it.

Zhao Zhengyuan was younger and even more quick-witted.

Gu Wei said, "You can trade your watch for wild ginseng or tiger penis and deer penis wine. You can also buy them with money, but be careful not to get caught up in speculation."

As for the goods, you can get them from me, or I'll give you ten yuan as a service fee for each watch.

Zhao Dajiang and Zhao Zhengyuan both chose the latter.

After all, the cost of purchasing goods was too high, and Zhao Zhengyuan was even less money after getting married.
