The Forestry Bureau has four primary schools, three middle schools, one high school, and one technical school.
The classroom door was open, and a female teacher wearing glasses was giving a lesson.
Gu Wei looked inside and soon spotted Gu Hongjie in the middle of the second-to-last row.
Gu Hongjie had obviously seen him too; he stood up straight, his face beaming with joy, and his eyes sparkling.
The female teacher adjusted her glasses and stepped down from the podium. "Who are you looking for?"
Gu Wei smiled and said, "Hello teacher, I am a relative of Gu Hongjie and I would like to pick him up from school early."
The female teacher was clearly surprised that Gu Hongjie had such a tall, handsome, and obviously rich relative. She paused for a moment before turning around to call for someone at the back of the classroom.
Gu Hongjie couldn't wait any longer. His buttocks seemed to have springs attached to them, and he sprang up and ran out of the classroom.
The other students in the class had different expressions.
Most of them are envious and jealous.
After all, who wouldn't want to leave school early and go home?
After walking a distance, Gu Wei ruffled Gu Hongjie's hair and asked, "How are you feeling? Were you bullied?"
Gu Hongjie said with great enthusiasm, "It feels great! Those who used to bully me are now afraid to do it because they see how tough I am."
"That's right. Kindness is often taken advantage of. You have to be ruthless to maintain your position. You should continue to do so."
Gu Wei secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
I had been thinking that if Gu Hongjie couldn't handle it himself, he would step in and help resolve it.
Gu Hongjie now idolizes his nephew to the extreme, and practically follows his lead.
"I definitely will!"
When the two returned home chatting and laughing, they could smell the rich aroma of meat even before entering the yard.
Gu Jianguo and his family were quite surprised that Gu Wei and his son returned together.
"It's not time for school to let out yet!"
"Why did you two come back together?"
Gu Hongjie was still a child after all. He was able to hold back his emotions in the past because he didn't want his parents to worry about him anymore.
The matter is now more or less resolved.
He couldn't hold back any longer and spilled the beans.
Gu Jianguo and Li Guizhi felt guilty upon hearing this, never expecting that their son had suffered so much injustice and bullying without their knowledge.
At the same time, she felt even more grateful to Gu Wei.
Gu Wei felt that these were things he should do and didn't want his grandparents to care too much.
Just then, Li Bin and his older brother Li Qiang arrived together, and the matter was thus considered closed.
Li Qiang works at the timber yard; he looks like an honest, hardworking person.
Everyone introduced themselves and exchanged a few pleasantries.
The last stir-fried dish was also ready.
They all took their seats and began to eat.
After Gu Jianguo raised a glass, Gu Wei also raised his glass to thank Li Bin and Li's mother.
They ate and chatted, creating a lively atmosphere.
Halfway through the meal, someone suddenly arrived at our house.
Gu Wei was sitting facing the window and saw a man and a woman, probably in their fifties, enter the courtyard.
He noticed that his grandparents' expressions turned very unpleasant when they turned around and saw who it was.
Gu Hongjie also showed an angry expression.
The Li family members also put down their chopsticks and looked at each other in bewilderment.
"Grandpa, who are they?"
Gu Jianguo sighed softly and said very quickly, "They are your great-aunt's relatives. We rushed to their house back then. In the end, they asked for a lot of money under the pretense of finding us jobs. The matter was dragged on and on without being resolved, and the money was wasted."
Gu Wei was furious!
How can you bully his grandparents?
However, they are relatives from my grandmother's side of the family after all.
He still wanted to see what his grandmother thought before deciding what to do.
Li Guizhi clutched her chest, saying painfully, "It's all my fault, I was too trusting. They are my third aunt's son and daughter-in-law. If it weren't for the gossip they spread when they came back to the village for the feast, we wouldn't have been able to come here."
Gu Jianguo quickly patted her back, "How can you blame yourself? If anyone is to blame, it's them, a bunch of heartless bastards!"
Worried that her grandmother, who had just been discharged from the hospital, might relapse, Gu Wei quickly got up to prepare the medicine.
At that moment, the two men swaggered in one after the other.
Zhang Chunqin had her hair styled in a No. 5 hairstyle and had a sharp and mean expression on her face.
Upon entering the house and seeing a table full of people with plates piled high with hearty dishes, he immediately exclaimed dramatically, "Wow, you've got a housewarming party! Chicken, duck, fish, meat, and big white steamed buns! Weren't you sick and hospitalized a few days ago and broke? How come you're suddenly so rich?"
Upon seeing the unfamiliar Gu Wei, Zhang Chunqin immediately guessed that he was probably a relative of Gu Jianguo, because he looked somewhat like Gu Hongjie.
Gu Jianguo's face turned red with anger as he recalled the humiliation he suffered at their home a few days ago: "What we eat is none of your business. You're not welcome here, so get out of here!"
Zhang Chunqin swallowed hard, her eyes fixed on the meat and vegetables. "Why are you leaving? We've come to bring you good news! Things are finally looking up when it comes to your jobs!"
Her plan was to appease them first, and then treat them to a delicious meal.
Unfortunately, people like Gu Jianguo from before might still have believed it.
But now that I've learned my lesson, I'm not going to fall for it again.
Li Guizhi stood up angrily and shouted at them, "Don't even think about lying to us anymore. From now on, we'll pretend we're not related. Get out of here right now!"
Gu Jianguo also stood up and shooed them away: "If you don't get out of here, don't blame me for being impolite!"
Yuan Decai wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth without any fear. "Look at you all, we're all relatives, why are you so ungrateful? No matter what, you still have to call us uncles and aunts! If it weren't for us, you would still be stuck in the countryside, toiling in the soil for food! We've done you such a great favor, and you won't even let us have a meal when we come home, isn't that just too much!"
These shameless words must have made Gu Jianguo and his men even angrier!
They came here from the countryside with some money.
Even if they can't find work for a while, it's enough for their family of three to live on for some time.
Unfortunately, the Yuan family swindled away most of it.
Without saying a word, Gu Jianguo grabbed Yuan Decai by the collar and started pulling him out.
Gu Wei naturally went to help, especially after he learned what his grandmother meant, he had no more reservations about what he was doing.
Li Bin was very good at reading people's expressions, and he immediately got up and followed suit.
Seeing this, Li Qiang also tried to stand up, but his mother held him down.
Worried that his mother would be upset, Gu Hongjie went to her side, clutching the medicine bottle that Gu Wei had just given him tightly in his hand.
Zhang Chunqin was caught off guard by Gu Jianguo's sudden action and exclaimed loudly, "Oh my god! How can your family kick people out like this!"
Li Guizhi clutched her clothes, but felt an unprecedented sense of relief, as if she had finally released some of the pent-up anger.
Seeing that Li Guizhi was sitting idly by, Zhang Chunqin had no choice but to stamp her foot and follow her.
