Chapter 39 Grandpa is the best to Minmin

"Oh, this is Tangbao, your second uncle's daughter, and also your cousin, Chu Shumin. You can call her 'sister'!" Grandpa Chu introduced them with a smile. "Minmin, this is your eldest uncle's daughter, Tangbao! You sisters should get to know each other!"

Seeing Tangbao's delicate and adorable round face, her bright, grape-like eyes sparkling with light, and her cute little nose and pink, moist mouth moving with every movement, she looked even more adorable.

Chu Shumin felt a surge of jealousy. How could this wild girl from the countryside be so cute? No wonder Grandpa liked her so much!

Chu Shumin, who is already five or six years old, still has a chubby face with a lot of baby fat, but compared with Tang Bao, she is still far behind and not as delicate and cute.

However, her parents said she couldn't show her dissatisfaction or disgust in front of her grandfather, so Chu Shumin stretched out her little hand with a smile on her face, "Hello, little sister, I'm your older sister!"

Tang Bao, however, lacked Chu Shumin's enthusiasm and simply greeted her obediently, "Hello, Sister Minmin!"

What Chu Shumin didn't know was that although she didn't show her dissatisfaction and disgust, who was Tang Bao? A fortune teller!

Tang Bao had already discerned Chu Shumin's character from her appearance. She had inherited the narrow-mindedness and jealousy of her second uncle and his wife. Although she wore a smile, it was a forced one. Tang Bao had no intention of being sisters with her!

Grandpa Chu couldn't see the expressions on the two children's faces at all, and assumed they were getting along very well.

Therefore, Grandpa Chu felt that his previous worries were unnecessary, and he was relieved as long as the sisters got along well.

With a gentle smile on her face, Chu Shumin stretched out her little hand and said, "Little Tangbao, let's not bother Grandpa anymore, let's go play somewhere else?"

Tangbao, however, wouldn't give him any face. Her chubby little hands gripped Grandpa Chu's sleeve tightly. "No! Tangbao promised Grandpa she would go fishing with him!"

Chu Shumin was shocked that Tang Bao would refuse her invitation. Anger surged in her heart. How dare this chubby girl refuse her!

"Dare to refuse me, and I'll ruin your image in front of Grandpa!" Chu Shumin secretly vowed, a sad expression appearing on her fair face, her eyes brimming with tears. "Grandpa, does Tangbao not like Minmin? He won't play with Minmin at all!"

Grandpa Chu quickly patted Chu Shumin's back to comfort her, explaining for Tangbao, "Minmin, don't cry. It's not that Tangbao didn't want to go play with you, it's that Tangbao promised Grandpa beforehand. Can you forgive Tangbao?"

Chu Shumin raised her chin, adopting a magnanimous expression, "Alright! I forgive my sister!"

"Tangbao, Grandpa doesn't need you to stay with me here!" Grandpa Chu quickly and gently persuaded Tangbao, "It's rare for your sister Minmin to come over, and besides, you're about the same age, it'll be better if you play together!"

Although Grandpa Chu liked Tang Bao very much, he also knew that Tang Bao was still young and would definitely prefer to play with people her own age, so they would have something in common to talk about.

He'll be fishing here, and Tangbao will definitely get bored.

Now that Chu Shumin has come, it would be more enjoyable for the two sisters to play together than for them to be with this old man.

Tang Bao sighed helplessly. It seemed she couldn't refuse; she couldn't let her grandfather down!

Tangbao gently stroked Grandpa Chu's big hand with her soft little hand, "Then Tangbao and her sister go play, Grandpa, don't be sad!"

Upon hearing this, Grandpa Chu felt even more comforted and deeply moved. Indeed, his sweet and gentle granddaughter was the best.

"Yes, Grandpa isn't sad. As long as Tangbao is happy, Grandpa is happy!"

Chu Shumin smiled smugly and waved to Tang Bao, "Little sister, let's go play in the living room!"

Because Uncle Chu would bring Chu Shumin over during holidays or when he wanted to get something, the old house still had quite a few children's toys for girls.

Knowing that Tangbao was coming today, the housekeeper and maid brought out all the toys they had put away, and now they can play in the living room.

"Okay!" Tang Bao nodded and followed Chu Shumin with her chubby little legs.

Chu Shumin walked ahead, then turned her head to look at Tang Bao, who was slowly following behind with her short legs. Although Tang Bao looked chubby, cute, and tender to Grandpa Chu and Chu Yiting, in Chu Shumin's mind she was just a chubby little girl from the countryside who had never seen the world. She turned her head away in disgust.

She was very unhappy that Grandpa doted on Tangbao so much, but her parents said she couldn't show it now. They would find an opportunity to make Tangbao make a mistake later, and then Grandpa would stop liking her.

The two little ones went into the living room to play with the toys that were placed there.

Madam Chu came up and greeted Tang Bao with a smile, "Hello, Tang Bao, I'm Minmin's mother, and I'm your aunt!"

Tang Bao blinked her big, round eyes and looked at Madam Chu. She noticed that Madam Chu had a full forehead but three white eyes, which was a sign of a narrow-minded and jealous person.

Although Madam Chu appeared to be smiling, Tang Bao couldn't sense any good feelings from her.

However, Tangbao is a very good child, and she politely greeted, "Hello, Auntie!"

"Okay, good girl!" Madam Chu nodded and reached out to touch Tang Bao's head, but Tang Bao dodged away.

Tangbao covered her head with her chubby little hands, her face puffed up in protest, "Big brother combed Tangbao's hair, I can't touch it!"

These words instantly froze the smile on Madam Chu's face. She was not only angry that Tang Bao refused her touch, but also shocked that a wild girl from who-knows-where would refuse her.

Unexpectedly, Chu Yiting would care so much about this wild girl who suddenly appeared. This brat really shouldn't be underestimated. It won't be easy to get rid of her.

Madam Chu smiled and praised, "Really? Then Yi Ting really dotes on you!"

Hearing others praise her older brother, Tangbao was naturally happy, revealing a sweet and adorable smile, "Of course, older brother is the best, Tangbao loves older brother the most!"

"Tangbao, play with Minmin, and Auntie will make you something delicious, okay?" Madam Chu said to Tangbao with a gentle smile.

Chu Shumin said with a bright smile, "Little sister, come play with me! I'll take you!"

"Okay!" Tangbao nodded and ran to play in the pile of toys in the living room.
