Chapter 14 Let them imagine
"Oh, so that's it. Then you should go before it gets dark." The man pointed to the sky. "If you wait a long time, they might move away."
Tu Xing didn't move, with a puzzled look on his face: "Did something happen before he closed the store? It was open just fine, why is it closed now?"
Clerk: "I don't know about that. Anyway, business is getting worse every year." As he said this, he retreated behind the counter.
Seeing that there was nothing else to ask, the young man nodded politely and left.
As they walked, Amina said, "I'm familiar with the East District because I live there, but it's a big, messy place, and you might not be able to find anyone there."
Tu Xing raised an eyebrow in surprise: "Are you going back to the coffee shop today? Or are you going straight home after searching this place?"
Amina: "I definitely won't go back. That's my relative's shop, and I'm just here to help."
"I'll help you get on your feet first. Walid hasn't... He only gave me a little money for running errands."
"If you demonstrate your abilities in the future, I'll be there for you anytime. If you make any progress in your research on the dark arts, you can come talk to me. I'll definitely help you if I can."
Tu Xing stared at her blankly, two words popping up in his eyes - agent?
The service was good and the place he was introduced to was exactly what he needed.
Interactions between adults are essentially exchanges of interests, and the bridge is Walid's employment, which is good for all three parties and is obviously an excellent bond.
The young man's thoughts flashed through his mind and he smiled at her. "Okay, thank you for your help. Is it far from here? Do I need to take a car?"
…
Thirty-five minutes later, the two arrived in front of the East District Guard Room.
Amina stepped forward, her body language enthusiastic. "Uncle Yama, I have a question for you, Zaxid, who runs a pocket watch shop. I have someone who wants a custom pocket watch, and I wanted to recommend a good one in the neighborhood, so I came over to ask."
Inside the guard room, an old man with half-white hair frowned: "How can I find you with so many people?"
Tu Xing lowered his eyes and frowned slightly, having a premonition that he would spend a lot of time searching.
The sight ahead was strong. He looked up and saw the old man looking in his direction. He wondered: Do they know each other? Or is there something wrong?
The old man squinted his eyes: "Isn't it behind you?"
He shouted, "Zahide! Someone wants to buy a pocket watch from you!"
Tu Xing and the other man turned around in surprise and saw a man in his forties wearing ordinary linen clothes. He was probably less than 1.7 meters tall and had messy brown hair.
Zashid's face wrinkled. "Ah? My shop has been closed for a long time, why would someone come here? There must be a mistake."
Amina tilted her head. "I was on my way to buy some gloves and came across your store. I'm in the same area as you and wanted a clearance price."
After a few words, Zaxi De's face was filled with joy. "Clearance price is not difficult. Come on, I'll take you there."
He sighed as he walked, "Oh, last time a big customer bought half of my stuff. Coincidentally, the rent for the shop was due, so I just left."
"If you come to see me next month, I won't be here anymore. My lease expires at the end of the month."
Tu Xing: "I heard from the shop assistant across from you that you claim to be a black magician and learned from Celilda. Are you going to stay away from the palace, or go to the palace?"
Zahid looked at him in surprise, "Are you sure you're really here to buy a pocket watch?"
Tu Xing: "Of course, by the way, let me gossip. I will be going to the palace tomorrow. If you are going with me, you can get to know me in advance."
"Oh—" Zahid responded slowly, "The palace..."
He smiled broadly, "I asked the black magician for two pieces of paper. I'm still figuring it out. I'm leaving soon anyway, so I'll exaggerate a little to get their imaginations going and spread the legend about me."
"Actually, I only met Celilda once, and she was the one who bought half of my pocket watch."
Tu Xing's eyes flickered, "She picked out all the ones with exquisite workmanship?"
Zaxid smiled enthusiastically: "There's still half of it. Come, it's right in front, on the second floor."
The young man looked up, then met Amina's gaze, and continued walking as usual.
All the way to Zashid's storage room, the man walked to the corner, moved out a large package swiftly, and opened it in twos and threes.
He roughly spread it out on the table with his hands, making a clanging sound.
"Take a look, which one do you like? Take it away!"
Tu Xing's eyes moved quickly, looking for a style similar to the one in the bag.
I actually found one in the corner and hooked it out.
I spread out my palm, with the pocket watch in the palm, and compared it carefully with the one in the bag in my memory. At first glance, they are almost the same, except that there are two flowers missing inside.
He looked at Zahid and said, "Do you have any other models of this style? Something special and unique."
The man stepped forward to examine it. "You've chosen very well. I think there are only two of this style. Let me find another one."
He bent down and searched through the pile, turning it over inside and out, but there were only two of the same color but with different details.
"They should have been sold. Those few are pretty good too. Any one of them is good, whether as a gift or for yourself."
Seeing that all the pocket watches were here, Tu Xing confirmed it and went forward to search carefully.
After a while, he let out a breath silently and asked more directly:
"I've seen one with the same design as this one, but it has two flowers inside. I think it's very unique, so I want the same one. Do you know who made that one?"
