Chapter 26

Chapter 26

Fortunately, it was nothing serious. The head teacher asked, "Has Teacher Wang not given you the watch yet?"

Jiang Rong said "hmm". She had no idea what was going on. She just watched as the head teacher's eyes darkened and he directly handed her a form.

Now it was Jiang Rong's turn to feel a little confused. She held the pen in her hand but hesitated to start. The teacher couldn't help but lean over and asked, "Why don't you fill it out? You fill it out every year. I don't know what to do this year?"

"I looked at the watch and it didn't change."

Jiang Rong pursed her lips and said, "I'm a little different this year."

"Teacher, I've been sponsored."

The director was visibly puzzled. Jiang Rong took out the mobile phone from her pocket and opened the balance in front of the teacher. It showed that Shen Jianye gave her money for buying groceries every day. Now, after a few days, there was nearly a thousand yuan.

Jiang Rong said seriously: "Look, I have money now."

The director took the phone suspiciously and clicked on the profile picture on the other side of the transfer: "Student Jiang Rong, this little money of yours is not enough. I'm more curious about who this man is who has been transferring money to you?"

Jiang Rong was also very serious: "It's the person who sponsored me."

The head teacher was completely stunned. His mind was filled with the things he had discussed in the previous meeting, as well as the images of fallen girls in movies and TV shows. He opened and closed his mouth for a while, not knowing what to say. After a long while, he finally said, "You, you sold your body?"

Jiang Rong was also dumbfounded. She quickly shook her head and waved her hands: "How could that be? Of course not. What are you thinking, teacher?"

Their eyes met, and the head teacher quickly regained his usual dignity. He coughed softly, as if he hadn't just brought up the serious topic. He tried to ask step by step, "He's sponsoring you. Did he sign a contract with you?"

Jiang Rong thought for a moment and shook her head: "No."

The head teacher's eyes widened. "So you still... no, wait, your home address hasn't changed, right?"

Jiang Rong's ears flushed as she whispered, "It's changed."

“But it just changed a number, and now I live next door.”

Afraid that the head teacher would misunderstand, she quickly made up for it, "My dad's debt collector came to my house, so I'm hiding from the creditors next door. Teacher, please don't misunderstand me, and don't knock on the door."

"The debt collector has been watching from the shadows."

I don’t know if it was my own illusion, but when the head teacher spoke, he gritted his teeth for some reason: “The teacher didn’t misunderstand.”

"The teacher will go to your home tomorrow, no, this afternoon. Please tell the person who sponsored you."

Jiang Rong looked away guiltily: "It's okay, teacher, the evening study session is over too late, please don't come over."

The director looked at her like a lost girl and couldn't help asking, "Where did you get to study at night?"

When this was mentioned, Jiang Rong looked up quickly: "Yes, I forgot to tell you, teacher, that I can go to evening self-study. I will tell the head teacher later."

She had to find a job before, but now someone is supporting her, and Jiang Rong plans to study hard to repay him.

The director rubbed his aching head and pointed at the form first: "Fill this out first. Never put your hopes on others, understand?"

"Don't worry about the evening study session. I'll take you there to talk after my home visit this afternoon."

Jiang Rong said "Oh" nervously, and her mind couldn't help but start to worry about what the director would say to Shen Jianye, but her hands had already filled out the form obediently and returned to the class.

Lin Yue curiously asked what happened. Jiang Rong told her everything, like a good friend she had envied before. Lin Yue instantly became interested: "So the head teacher is going to visit your home?"

Jiang Rong nodded slightly: "A little scared."

Lin Yue thought of how familiar Jiang Rong was with the head teacher, and pulled the corners of her mouth. She always felt that Shen Jianye should be the one who was afraid now, but she asked with regret: "Do we have to go after school?"

"Can I..." after evening study?

When talking about this, Jiang Rong's face was full of melancholy: "I even told him that I had to go to evening self-study."

Their eyes met, and Lin Yue patted Jiang Rong on the shoulder: "I'll wait for you to tell me the situation tomorrow. You, just wish yourself the best."

However, the two of them were not really panicked at this time. Jiang Rong's mind was still full of thoughts about why the grade director had to go find Shen Jianye, and it felt that the director did not seem to like Shen Jianye very much.

Obviously, they had never met each other.

Just like that, it was lunch break. Knowing that it was Teacher Wang's lunch break, Jiang Rong and Lin Yue didn't dare to act rashly. They ate together and quickly returned to the classroom.

But when Teacher Wang came at noon, her face was still gloomy. No one knew who had offended her. She threw the test paper in her hand heavily on the table and asked a few students nearby to pass out the papers. Then she looked in Jiang Rong's direction and sneered rudely: "Some people, whose families are poor, have learned the bad habit of complaining."

"If you're so good at complaining, then don't study under me!"

Lin Yue lowered her head, curled her lips, and asked in a low voice: "How did you provoke her?"

Jiang Rong lowered her voice: "Subsidy?"

They both thought they were speaking discreetly, after all, with their heads down, their mouths couldn't be seen. But Teacher Wang suddenly reacted and slammed the table, "Jiang Rong, stand up!"

"What are you whispering about down there? Tell us all about it!"

Jiang Rong didn't dare answer her. She simply lowered her head, acting like an ostrich. Fortunately, her bangs blocked everyone's view. Teacher Wang started chattering non-stop, "Sometimes, poor grades aren't a big deal, but poor character is. I don't want to hear about you again. What police station are you in?"

"Stand up and listen to the test. Look at your and your deskmate's scores. I don't even want to say it, you really are birds of a feather!"

It would have been fine if she had just spoken, but she had been making sarcastic remarks for the entire afternoon. However, the two of them still had their moments of happiness, so it was no wonder that Jiang Rong and Lin Yue were deliberately provoking her.

It was just that Teacher Wang seemed to be targeting Jiang Rong. He also knew that Jiang Rong and Lin Yue were good friends, so he was very familiar with the wrong questions of Jiang Rong and Lin Yue. He deliberately chose a question that was a bit difficult, and called on Lin Yue first to ask if he knew the solution now.

Lin Yue hung his head, his eyes rolling up to the sky. If he had known, how could he have been wrong?

However, when she asked this, Lin Yue could only pretend to look at it. As he looked at it, Lin Yue suddenly found that he really knew how to do it. It seemed that Jiang Rong had taught him at the weekend.

Teacher Wang on the podium scoffed: "No way, come on, who knows, who can tell her?"

It was not known whether Lin Yue had a good relationship with everyone or whether everyone was disgusted by Teacher Wang's behavior, so no one raised their hands. Teacher Wang was about to call out a favorite student when Lin Yue suddenly said, "Who said I can't do it?"

Before Teacher Wang asked the next question, Lin Yue had already started talking, but he was a little stuck when it came to the answer. After all, Jiang Rong only talked about it briefly. Fortunately, before Teacher Wang could show a victorious smile, Jiang Rong continued with the answer.

This made Teacher Wang's face twist with anger. She sneered, "Okay, now you know it, so why can't you know it during the exam?"

Lin Yue wanted to retort, but Jiang Rong quickly tugged at her sleeve, and she stopped. However, she didn't ask the two of them to sit down, so they could only stand there until the lunch break was over.

Teacher Wang walked away angrily, stomping his shoes. Jiang Rong and Lin Yue sat down, relieved. They looked at each other and smiled. Lin Yue asked curiously, "Why do you think it's about the scholarship?"

Jiang Rong sighed softly and explained, "Because last time the head teacher asked me if I had the form, I told him no. Then he asked me again. I must have asked Teacher Wang about it, but she never gave it to me. So today, the head teacher directly gave me one and asked me to fill it out before letting me come back."

Lin Yue touched her chin and nodded. Judging from the situation... "You're right. She must have been criticized by the director again, so she took her anger out on us."

Lin Yue patted Jiang Rong's shoulder and consoled her, "It's okay. This is all she can do."

Jiang Rong pursed her lips and thought to herself: I hope so.

However, the most urgent matter was the director's home visit after school. Jiang Rong didn't even have time to inform Shen Jianye. The whole afternoon was quickly spent on exams. Jiang Rong rubbed her sore shoulders, packed her schoolbag, and walked to the school gate with heavy steps. The director came to her on his electric donkey and said, "Let's go. It's on the way anyway."

Jiang Rong subconsciously refused: "Forget it, teacher, I'd better take the bus."

A breeze blew by, ruffling the few hairs visible on the director's head. He smiled calmly, "Whatever you want. By the time you get home, I should have finished talking to him."

Jiang Rong quickly straddled the chair and said, "Let's go, Teacher."

On the way, the director asked about Jiang Rong's family situation, especially the debt collection issue. He frowned and asked, "Why are they here again? Last time they were looking for you near the school."

It just happened that time that he was chased away by the patrol director, which is why the director knew so many things.

Jiang Rong pursed her lips and speculated, "I don't know either, but maybe my dad is about to come out?"

The director sighed and asked again, "How about the person who said he would sponsor you?"

Jiang Rong praised him without hesitation, "That's great! He even signed me up for a weekend tutoring class. The teacher is named Yang, a former teacher at our school. He moved back to the old factory because his husband has Alzheimer's."

The director narrowed his eyes, and no one knew what he was thinking. After a series of rhetoric, mainly from the director, they arrived downstairs at the old factory building.

Jiang Rong looked at Shen Jianye who was still working in the coffee shop, and slowly breathed a sigh of relief, okay, the director should not run into Shen Jianye.

Just as he was thinking about it, the director parked the car and turned around to see a coffee shop that looked completely out of place with the old factory building. Jiang Rong stood in front of it silently, trying to block the director's view: "Teacher, let's go up quickly."

But the director slowed down again, as if he wasn't the one anxious just now: "Wait a minute, I see someone I know."
