Chapter 43 Invitation "Wouldn't you like to come in and sit down?"
He was originally a very good person.
Moreover, ten years had so easily beautified him into a more perfect image. From then on, in her world, there was no longer a single flaw in him that could destroy the beauty.
So even though the gaze that fell on her at this moment was a bit aggressive, she still felt that he was the perfect person that she had imagined in the past and now.
So Bo Xia thought he was just joking with her: "No, you really care about a meal? If there is a chance to invite you next time, please don't refuse to come."
They used respectful titles as if they were still in the workplace.
Jin Yunyan didn't correct her. When he saw her raise her hand to pick up some food, the strap on her sleeve accidentally fell off. He placed his warm fingertips on her arm and said, "Be careful."
The small piece of skin that was touched was quickly filled with a tingling sensation. She felt as if she had been touched by a weak electric current and immediately withdrew her hand, but the feeling on her arm could not dissipate.
For a moment, when she looked at him quietly, she had the delusion of her youth, that he would one day give her all his tenderness, and that the moon hanging high in the sky would shine on her alone.
But how could those old dreams hidden in memory ever see the light of day again?
And so, for a moment, her eyes were tinged with a faint sadness, that unknown pain like a thorn lurking in her heart. It was like a long-ago illness, now fully recovered, but still carrying some inevitable aftereffects that always struck her when she was least prepared.
Jin Yunyan kept looking at her and saw that her eyes were constantly changing. He had met so many people, but he always felt that she was like a layer of fog and he couldn't see clearly.
There are obviously many stories hidden in her eyes, but she chooses not to tell them. She hides many things in the deepest part of her heart, waiting for others to dig them out.
The meal was very pleasant, and when they came out, it was drizzling. Jin Yunyan was a gentleman, so he naturally asked the driver to take her home.
Outside the window, the raindrops fell on the glass, leaving behind patches of rain marks.
She talked to him about Jia Jia in the hypnotic sound of rain, saying that Jia Jia was a very sensible girl, but she hoped that Jia Jia could not be so sensible.
Jin Yunyan caught a glimpse of a corner of her scar from her tone, but she quickly hid it and could no longer find any trace of it.
He didn't dig too deep, but just sat beside her and listened quietly, listening to her talk about girls' studies. When mentioning Nan'an, Jin Yunyan finally said meaningfully: "When I was in the second year of high school, I studied at Nan'an for a while."
Her heart skipped a beat, but she never heard him mention the part of the past that involved her. In her youth, he was the absolute hero, but in his youth, she was just an insignificant supporting role.
Bo Xia smiled and said, "Really? That's fate."
She thought that since he no longer remembered it, there was no need for her to bring up the past which would put their relationship in an awkward position.
The conversation ends here.
The car was driving on the road, and it was unknown how long it took to reach the destination. Bo Xia lived not too far away, so her commute was long, but she had no reason to hide it.
The rain outside had stopped. She stood in the damp steam and bent down in front of the car window to say goodbye to him.
The people walked away, but the car remained parked there.
The cool breeze blew in through the window, reminding him of the rainy day when he had met her. Sometimes fate was always a wonderful thing. If he hadn't decided to help the poor man because he had the same disease as his mother, if he hadn't come to the hospital today, how could they have met?
Perhaps the intersection of trajectories is always written in the script of fate.
However, Jin Yunyan didn't have the quality of compassion for others. He was just influenced by his mother since childhood, so he was particularly gentle in his dealings with others. In the words of his friends, he was actually a gentleman.
Bo Xia is much kinder than him.
On the day Jia Jia returned to Nan'an, Bo Xia went to see her off. She did not ask her to study hard. She knew better than anyone that people with their personalities were sensitive and competitive, and they felt more pressure than anyone else. There was no need for her to be the one putting pressure on her.
Bo Xia gave Jia Jia a butterfly pendant, bought some snacks and gifts, and asked her to be careful on her way back.
The girl turned her head again and again and looked at the pendant in her hand.
Maybe her sister wanted to tell her that the power of life lies in disobedience.
Bo Xia watched the figure in the distance gradually disappear, and in her heart she hoped that she could always live for herself. The heavy stone in her heart was finally put down, and Bo Xia focused more on her work.
She had some unpleasant arguments with the landlord during those days, and because the conditions of the rental house were not very good, she would rather give up the deposit and terminate the contract with the landlord.
It's just that she was too busy with work during that time. The cooperation with Wansheng had been formally finalized. Every day she was either in meetings in the office, drawing blueprints, or calling the construction team to confirm the progress. All the miscellaneous things piled up and she had no time to look at houses.
Thinking of her previous participation in the design of Qinwan Hotel and the discount she received for accommodation there, she decided to stay at the hotel temporarily, thinking that she should look at several more rentals this time to compare so that she would not have to move again in the short term.
Fortunately, she had not been in Beijing for long, so she only had to pack two suitcases after a simple packing.
Thinking back to when she graduated and stayed in Beijing for more than two years, she had so much stuff that she couldn't move it all, just like the memories she left in Beijing at that time, it seemed that no matter how big the box was, it could not fit all of them.
Having so little now constantly reminded her that she was starting over.
Having booked a room in advance, Bo Xia arrived at the hotel and checked in. The waiter came to help her with her luggage. After giving her some instructions, the waiter politely left the room and gently closed the door for her.
Her room just faced the river view outside, and at night it was full of lights and wine, and she could have a panoramic view of the prosperous scenery of Beijing.
The bathtub was filled with water. While taking a bath, Bo Xia admired the scenery outside for a while. A red wine glass was placed on the table next to it, and the scarlet liquid reflected the night view of the city.
Unfortunately, her rare and relaxing time was interrupted. She picked up the phone that had been ringing for a long time with her hands covered with water droplets, and saw that her colleague had sent her a message saying that some of the client's requirements conflicted with their plan, so they made another version for her to see.
The most troublesome thing in this line of work is dealing with the client. Some owners, because they are laymen, often make some outrageous demands. As an architect, you often cannot offend them and can only communicate with them patiently.
It was originally a break time, and Bo Xia quickly took the opportunity to understand the other party's needs. She had Song Cen's contact information, so she called him and said that she hoped to talk to Mr. Jin directly. At first, Song Cen politely said that he didn't know his boss's whereabouts during the holiday.
However, after a while, Song Cen suddenly sent her a string of phone numbers.
"?"
"Mr. Jin's personal contact information."
She was a little surprised and saved the phone number in her mobile phone.
When it came time to save the contact name, Bo Xia was embarrassed and took several tries to type his full name, as if his name was too hot to handle.
It was not too late at this time, so Bo Xia called Jin Yunyan. After the call was connected, he heard him say "hmm" in a slightly hoarse voice with an upward tone.
She felt a little hot in her ears when she heard the man's pleasant and sexy voice. She said that she wanted to discuss some details of the project with him, but she didn't know if it was convenient.
Jin Yunyan sent her his address and said he was free in the next two days.
Bo Xia discovered that he was actually in the same hotel as her, but Jin Yunyan was in the presidential suite on the top floor. As she finished packing her materials and went upstairs, she suddenly realized that she was disturbing him too much. It seemed that because she always had the image of Jin Yunyan as being too easy to talk to, and because they had been classmates before, she subconsciously thought he had a good temper, so she was a little overreaching.
Since he was already there, Bo Xia thought about it and reached out to knock on the other person's door.
Someone soon opened the door from the inside, and Jin Yunyan, standing against the backdrop of splendor, glanced at her. He was wearing only a loose white robe, revealing his muscular chest. His originally abstinent demeanor had a hint of playfulness, and gold-rimmed glasses perched on his high nose, suggesting he had just been working.
She didn't know if it was because the light behind her was too warm, or because his eyes were too bewitching, but when he lowered his eyes and looked at her seriously, she almost forgot to breathe. Those eyes were so deep and passionate that she could easily fall into them if she wasn't careful.
Even though she felt that she no longer had any deep feelings for him, she still exposed her true nature in the face of beauty.
Bo Xia turned his eyes away, realized that he had disturbed her too much, and said that he would come back another day.
Jin Yunyan didn't expect her to come so soon. He gave her the address and thought she would come over when she was free in the next few days, and they could chat in the restaurant or lobby. Who knew that she would knock on his door in the blink of an eye.
Seeing her about to leave, Jin Yunyan looked at her red ears and called her: "How did you get here? I'll drive you a ride."
As he said that, he was about to go into the room to change his clothes. The door was slightly open, and through the gap he could see a computer and a glass of untouched red wine next to the sofa.
Bo Xia quickly refused: "No, my room is on the tenth floor."
So that's how it is. No wonder it came so quickly.
The emotions hidden in the corners of his eyes were suppressed behind his glasses. Seeing that she was avoiding him, he wanted to tease her. He lowered his eyelids and asked softly, "Wouldn't you like to come in and sit down?"
