Chapter 9 Finale 9 (Gifts and Updates)

Rather than saying this is a rainforest, it would be more accurate to say that this is a crack in the earth.

But for humans, this crack is also a huge canyon.

The air down there is damp and stuffy, probably because the surrounding vegetation is dense and there is no ventilation.

This biosphere, which is almost completely blocked by trees and has been created due to the terrain and environment, is no different from a tropical rainforest.

Oberon: "The rainforest is dangerous and full of poisonous insects. Check your equipment to make sure it is correct."

The others quickly checked their guns and ammunition, as well as their clothing and equipment.

There was nothing for Xie Yuchen to check. After all, it was impossible for Oberon and the others to give him weapons.

When Li Huashi heard this, she recalled some bad memories. She silently opened her backpack, took out a hat and put it on.

He tied his boots again and used a bandage to seal any gaps at the shoe openings.

After doing all this, Li Huashi sprinkled a bunch of medicine powder on herself, trying her best to make sure that her whole body was covered with the powder.

The left side flutters, the right side flutters, the feet flutters, and the butt flutters.

Xie Yuchen and others watched this scene quietly, and Oberon had a complicated expression.

So why did this young lady insist on coming along?

After finishing all this, Li Huashi looked at the others, paused, and then handed the remaining powder to Oberon.

"It's snake and insect proof."

Oberon: "Miss Rola, do you know that although this thing can prevent some snakes, insects, rats and ants, it may also attract other creatures?"

Facing the other party's sarcasm, Li Huashi retorted unhappily: "Did I spend 20 million to invite you to play?"

Why didn't you tell me before you spread it? I remembered to tell you after I finished spreading it.

Moreover, can my stuff be the same as those sold on the market, which are only specifically targeted at common mosquitoes?

Oberon shrugged and asked someone to lead the way.

After hearing this, Xie Yuchen became even more certain that Li Huashi was the young lady who had lost her pet.

In fact, Li Huashi didn’t originally plan on pretending.

It's okay in the desert, but once she enters the rainforest, her true colors will probably be revealed soon. It's not a very important secret anyway, so once she knows it, she'll know it.

. . . .

Along the way, I did not encounter any snakes.

Even if there were insects hiding deep in the grass, once Li Huashi got close, the surrounding insects would either flee in all directions or die quickly if they failed to escape in time.

Noticing this situation, Oberon and Xie Yuchen couldn't help but look at Li Huashi, or rather, at the medicine powder on her body.

Li Huashi put her hands in her pockets, looking relaxed and at ease, as if she was out for a picnic.

As they walked, they suddenly came to a strange road.

There are some peculiarly shaped stone sculptures on both sides of the road. They look like birds, but their heads have eyes, noses, and mouths that look like humans.

"What is this? An ancient myth or legend? A creature from the Classic of Mountains and Seas? Why is it so ugly?"

Xie Yuchen walked to the stone sculpture, took out a dagger and scraped off the moss on it.

Li Huashi raised her eyebrows: "What are you doing?"

Xie Yuchen didn't expect that Li Huashi and the others didn't know the human-faced bird. He guessed that they might just be here to find a pet.

"This is a human-faced bird, a legend. Look, there are carvings on it. I think it must be an ancient relic! There may really be treasure inside!"

Xie Yuchen pretended to be excited, maintaining his persona as a rich second-generation who loves adventure.

Li Huashi walked to Xie Yuchen, took a look at the carved pattern on the stone bird, and frowned in disdain.

Well, she still couldn't tell what story these strange carvings told.

But this doesn't affect her taking photos at all.

As for the treasure? We'll talk about it when we really find it.

Oberon took out an instrument to test the air composition: "Something is wrong here, it's too quiet, not only are there no birds singing, there don't seem to be any insects. Cover your mouth and nose, I'll test whether there are any toxic gases in the air."

Hearing this, Li Huashi clapped her hands, covered her mouth and nose, looked at Oberon obediently, and waited for his test results.

Although Xie Yuchen didn't think there might be toxic gases in the air, when he saw Li Huashi and the others doing the same, he also learned to cover his mouth and nose.

The test results came out soon, and there was no deadly poison gas in the air.

Li Huashi thought for a moment and said, "Let's have someone walk ahead to explore the way, put on the rope, and keep some distance between the front and the back."

Oberon thought this method was feasible, so he chose one person and tied the rope around him, then let the person walk a distance away before the others followed.

Every time he walked a certain distance, Oberon would loudly ask the people in front of him if they had noticed anything unusual.

The answer was no.

Everyone was very cautious, and after walking for a long distance, nothing happened, which made people wonder if they were too suspicious.

However, Li Huashi was not sure if it was because the rainforest was too hot and humid that made her feel unwell, dull and tired all over.

However, not long after, the mercenary who was walking in front to lead the way suddenly fell down. Seeing this, everyone immediately stopped and reacted quickly to pull the man back.

After the military doctor quickly checked the man's condition, his face turned grim.

"His heart is beating at an odd frequency."

Li Huashi rubbed her head and couldn't help squatting down: "I feel dizzy, stuffy, tired, and uncomfortable... Oberon, carry me."
