The organization of the Zhenxi Army has also undergone new changes in the past two years.
Although the Zhenxi Army still had the Left Guard, Right Guard, Vanguard, Rear Guard, South Guard, North Guard, East Guard, West Guard and Personal Guard under its command, the first eight guards had changed from a four-brigade system to a six-brigade system.
Geng Jing was still the commander-in-chief of the Left Guard, and the deputy commander-in-chief of the Left Guard and the generals and deputy generals of the six brigades under it were still generals from the imperial guards.
Of course, the vast majority of the middle-level officers and all the lower-level officers of the Left Guard are still the Hundred Generals under the "Annual Signing System".
The biggest change is in the Right Guard of the Zhenxi Army, which has become a uniform "annual contract system" consisting of 100 generals.
Part of the soldiers originally recruited by the Right Guard were transferred to the Left Guard, and part were transferred to the wing army units in various places.
Currently, the Right Guard, Vanguard, Rear Guard, and Southern Guard each have 5,000 Black Armor Cavalry, 5,000 Beiwei Cavalry, 5,000 Tiger and Leopard Cavalry, 5,000 Xiliang Iron Cavalry, 5,000 Wei Wuzu, and 5,000 Qin Ruishi.
The North Guard, East Guard and West Guard of the Zhenxi Army each had 5,000 Tiger Cavalry, 5,000 White Horse Volunteers, 5,000 Modao soldiers, 5,000 vanguard soldiers, 5,000 Wei Wuzu and 5,000 Qin elite soldiers.
As for the personal guards, they still had 20,000 Huben cavalry, 5,000 Black Armor cavalry, 5,000 Beiwei cavalry, 5,000 Tiger and Leopard cavalry, 5,000 Xiliang Iron Cavalry and 10,000 White Horse Volunteers, as well as 20,000 Modao soldiers, 10,000 vanguard death soldiers, 10,000 Wei Wu soldiers and 10,000 Qin Rui soldiers, as well as 10,000 wind, rain, thunder and lightning cavalry, 10,000 Qinglang cavalry and 10,000 tiger soldiers.
The total strength of the Zhenxi Army has expanded to 370,000.
However, in order to support the 370,000-strong Zhenxi Army, the Zhenxi Protectorate had to reduce the number of troops in the local wing troops.
This reduced the Xiang Army's strength, which had reached a peak of 450,000, to 300,000.
Xue Rengui was still the commander-in-chief of the Right Guard of the Zhenxi Army, but Lu Bu was appointed as the deputy commander-in-chief. The six generals of the Right Guard were Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, Shi Wengong, Luan Tingyu, Bian Xiang, and Du Fu.
Qin Qiong was still the commander-in-chief of the vanguard, Pan Feng was the deputy commander-in-chief, and the six generals were Zhang Liao, Xu Huang, Zhao Yun, Huang Zhong, Yu Juluo, and Han Qinhu respectively.
Di Qing was still the commander-in-chief of the rear guard, Meng Tian was the deputy commander-in-chief, and the six generals were Le Jin, Yu Jin, Pang De, Gan Ning, Yan Liang, and Wen Chou respectively.
Bai Qi was appointed as the commander-in-chief of Beiwei, Gao Aocao was appointed as the deputy commander-in-chief, and the six generals were Zhang Han, Zhang He, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Guan Sheng, and Lin Chong respectively.
Wang Jian was appointed as the commander-in-chief of Nanwei, Hulugu as the deputy commander-in-chief, and Li Guang, Wang Yanzhang, Ma Chao, Qin Ming, Hu Yanzhuo, and Dong Ping as the six generals respectively.
Lian Po was appointed as the commander-in-chief of Dongwei, Ying Bu as the deputy commander-in-chief, and Gao Siji, Taishi Ci, Shi Wansui, He Ruobi, Hua Rong and Xu Ning as the six generals respectively.
Li Mu was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the Western Guard, Peng Yue was appointed as the deputy commander-in-chief, and the six generals were Yuwen Chengdu, Yuchi Gong, Dian Wei, Xu Chu, Yang Zhi, and Suo Chao respectively.
Huo Qubing, Ma Yuan, Long Qie, Fan Kuai, Xiong Kuohai, Pei Yuanqing, Yang Zaixing, Wu Yunzhao, Wu Tianxi and Wei Qing, these ten fierce generals were responsible for commanding the 100,000 "annual signing system" generals in the personal guard.
The three-year-long barbarian rebellion in the southwest was finally quelled. Now, Prince Yong'an Chen Su has led the five-town imperial guards back to the capital of Daliang - Anyang City.
As soon as Prince Yong'an Chen Su returned to the capital, he sent someone to summon the Minister of War Sun Zhe to the Prince Yong'an's Palace in the city.
"Minister Sun, do you know why I am in such a hurry to find you?" Prince Yong'an Chen Su asked Sun Zhe in a deep voice.
Sun Zhe said with a wry smile, "In reply to Prince Yong'an, I really don't know what the prince wants to see me about."
Yong'an Prince Chen Su sighed and said, "You should be aware that the bandits in the northern states have become increasingly rampant, especially in Zibo and Yizhou, where the number of bandits has exceeded one million.
This is also one of the important reasons why I am in a hurry to return to the capital from the southwest. If we don’t organize a large army to wipe out those bandits, the northern states will become increasingly chaotic.”
Sun Zhe seemed to understand what Yong'an Prince Chen Su meant, but he still pretended to be confused and asked, "Could it be that the prince intends to let me lead the troops to the north to wipe out the bandits?"
Yong'an Prince Chen Su said directly, "This prince hopes that you can persuade Sun Hao, the Grand Commander of the Zhenxi Protectorate, your son, to lead the Zhenxi Army to Zibo and Yizhou to eliminate the bandits.
This time when we went to the southwest to quell the barbarian rebellion, the five towns that the imperial guards sent out suffered heavy losses, and the march was long, so this time when I go to Zibo and Yizhou to wipe out the bandits, I only plan to bring the imperial guards from two towns, namely Jingwu Town and Chaowu Town, which have been staying in the capital.
However, these two towns combined only have 160,000 men, which is a bit insufficient, so I plan to transfer part of the Zhenxi Army into the pass."
Sun Zhe hesitated after hearing this and said, "Your Majesty, I'm sure you know that since Sun Hao has not been with me since he was a child, although we are father and son in name, our relationship is very ordinary.
I'm afraid my words won't have any effect on Sun Hao."
"That's fine. Just write a letter to Sun Hao and persuade him to send troops."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
After Sun Zhe left, Yong'an Prince Chen Su asked his aide Xiao Jing, who had just walked into the room, "Will it really be useful to have Sun Zhe write a letter?"
Xiao Jing said calmly: "Don't worry, Your Majesty. As far as I know, since Sun Zhe came to Beijing, he has always maintained correspondence with Sun Hao, which shows that Sun Hao still recognizes Sun Zhe as his father.
With Sun Zhe's letter and the imperial decree, the Zhenxi Army's chances of entering the pass are at least 70 percent."
Compared to more than two years ago, Xiao Jing's complexion has improved a lot and he no longer coughs every day, but his body is still as thin as before.
