Pretending to be a goddess dragon

Pretending to be a goddess dragon

This female dragon looked nothing like a seasoned martial artist, more like a rookie. Her eyes were as clear as spring water, and her expression was innocent. She marveled at her reflection in the mirror, as if she had never seen the art of disguise before.

"Wow, it's amazing! It's so powerful!" she said.

"No, no, no, the Dragon Goddess would not say that." Ouyang Mingri said, shaking his head.

The dragon goddess frowned and pouted as she said, "Isn't it enough for me to praise you?"

Gu Mutian smiled and said, "Girl, the way you act coquettishly really does look a bit like Xiaoyan'er!"

The "Dragon Goddess" laughed. Sima Changfeng's face was filled with sorrow, and he thought: Yan'er, when can you be like her, carefree and happy?

Ouyang Mingri was filled with confusion. Was this quirky "Dragon Goddess" really the Leng Yue girl he had seen yesterday? Had her personality changed along with her appearance?

Leng Yue turned around silently, then turned back and said, "Master, uncle, you are as good as Hua Tuo and Chang Feng."

This sound...

Everyone was startled. The old man from the frontier was the first to come to his senses. He clapped his hands and said, "It's like it! It's really like it!"

Gu Mutian also stroked his beard and laughed, "Girl, you really scared us!"

The "Dragon Goddess" smiled.

"Miss Shangguan has married Brother Sima, so..." Ouyang Mingri asked.

"Better than Hua Tuo...!" Sima Changfeng was obviously a little panicked.

"I will accompany Madam Yuzhu at night, and Changfeng will still be in his own room." said the goddess dragon.

"No, I'll stay with Madam Yuzhu tonight!" Sima Changfeng said quickly.

"That's great." The dragon goddess smiled cunningly, and was very satisfied with Sima Changfeng's volunteering.

In the room, the goddess Long and Sima Changfeng took care of Madam Yuzhu together.

"Yan'er, go back and rest. Leave this to me." Changfeng said.

"I'll come over later in the night to take your place," the dragon goddess said. "I'm leaving now."

"Yan'er," Sima Changfeng called her. The dragon goddess didn't look at him, but just turned her head to the side. Sima Changfeng paused and said, "Thank you."

"There's no need to thank me between you and me." After saying this, the dragon goddess gently closed the door and left.

The starry sky here was no different from any other. The dragon goddess couldn't understand the celestial sphere, only that the planet beneath her feet was truly wondrous. The stars twinkled, like a dream. Life here, though beautiful, was not hers, no matter what she said, what she did, who she fell in love with, who she abandoned.

"Is it beautiful?" Before she knew it, Ouyang Mingri had come to her side and looked up at the starry sky with her.

"All conditioned phenomena are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, and shadows; like dew and lightning, they should be viewed in this way." The goddess dragon said slowly.

"If you see me with your eyes and seek me with your voice, you are following the wrong path and cannot see the Tathagata." Ouyang Mingri continued.

"I don't quite understand what you said." said the goddess dragon.

"This is a four-line verse from the Diamond Sutra, which aims to break the attachment of sentient beings to appearances. In simple terms, if you only use what you see with your eyes and hear with your ears to understand Buddhism, you are taking the wrong path and using the wrong method, and it will be difficult to truly understand Buddhism." Ouyang Mingri explained.

"Now that you put it that way, I think I understand a little bit. You mean that when looking at things, we can't just look at the surface, but we have to clear away the fog and find the most fundamental essence. Only in this way can we truly understand them. Is that right?" asked the goddess dragon.

"Just like a girl, sometimes weak, sometimes firm, sometimes indifferent, and sometimes naive. If you judge her only by her performance, you will probably be confused." Ouyang Mingri said.

"Oh? Then do you see through me?" The dragon goddess laughed.

"To be honest, not yet." Ouyang Mingri also smiled: "Isn't the girl a fairy from heaven?"

"Do you believe it?" asked the dragon goddess.

"What do you think?" Mingri asked back.

"If you don't believe it, forget it."

The dragon goddess hummed a little tune and left. Ouyang Mingri heard her singing:

"Knowing that the world is like a dream, there is nothing to seek. Without seeking, the mind is completely empty and quiet. It is like following the dream within a dream, achieving merits as numerous as the sands of the dream."

"What kind of person are you?" Ouyang Mingri asked in his heart while looking at her back.

Madam Yuzhu's room.

"Changfeng, you go and rest, I'll take care of this place." said the goddess dragon.

"No, I want to stay here..." Sima Changfeng said.

"Go ahead." The dragon goddess repeated.

"Well then," Sima Changfeng said, "I'll be leaving first."

Sima Changfeng walked away. The dragon goddess looked around cautiously, and when she felt that nothing was wrong, she started talking to the person on the bed.

"Shangguan Yan, Shangguan Yan, are you awake? If you are awake, respond to me." The goddess dragon said in a low voice.

"Who are you? How can you talk to me?" Shangguan Yan did not wake up, but her consciousness responded.

"My name is Leng Yue, and I'm your substitute. Can you tell me about your current injury?" asked the dragon goddess.

"Master and uncle help me repair my body every day, and I am getting better every day, but my consciousness is not clear. Why can you talk to me?" Shangguan Yan asked.

"What do you mean by your consciousness is blocked?" The dragon goddess did not answer her question, but only asked about her injuries.

"My chest is blocked, cutting off the connection between my mind and body. Even though I know my body is gradually recovering, I still can't move." Shangguan Yan explained.

"You mean, even if you know where to move, your commands cannot be transmitted to the corresponding parts, is that right?" The goddess dragon confirmed.

"Yes." Shangguan Yan replied.

"You said your chest is blocked. Is it around your heart?" the goddess dragon asked again.

"No, it's in the center of the body." Shangguan Yan replied.

"You mean, not in the heart, but to the right of the heart, in the central channel of the body?"

"Yes."

"Are you sure it's chest congestion?"

"I'm sure."

"Okay, I understand."

"Lengyue, what do you want to do?" Shangguan Yan asked.

"To help you clear it." The goddess dragon replied.

"My chest is very stuffy, which will consume a lot of your true energy." Shangguan Yan was now able to communicate freely with the "Goddess Dragon" through her consciousness.

"Don't worry, it won't consume any energy." The female dragon told Shangguan Yan.

"Why do you want to help me?" Shangguan Yan asked.

"This is everyone's common wish." said the dragon goddess.

"Thank you. If possible, please tell Changfeng not to worry about me." Shangguan Yan said.

"You know he won't listen." The dragon goddess said lightly.

"Can you let him talk to me?" Shangguan Yan asked.

The dragon goddess shook her head. "He can't receive it. Even if I convey it, he won't believe it and will just think I'm comforting him. I don't want to see him like that either. If I can, I won't refuse to help you."

"I understand that not everyone has this kind of talent, but thank you for taking care of Changfeng for me."

"You're welcome. I hope you can wake up soon so I can be myself again."

Inside the room, in front of the window, Ouyang Mingri carefully recalled the fragments of Leng Yue's appearance, trying to find some clues from them.

From her sudden appearance, to rescuing her and Shangguan Yan, to acting as Shangguan Yan's double, Leng Yue's words and actions were truly incredible. She knew everything about everyone, not just him, but also Sima Changfeng, Shangguan Yan, Chou Doufu, and even her parents, Bing Xin, Bai Tong, and Ban Tianyue. Even the master who personally treated Bai Tong's injuries didn't know about Bing Xin and Bai Tong's fall from the cliff. How did she know this? She knew so much about everyone. Even if she was truly a member of the Shen Yue Sect, even Ban Tianyue herself couldn't know so much.

But they knew nothing about her. Ouyang Mingri racked his brains, but couldn't come to a reasonable conclusion. Wasn't he always so good at predicting things? Why was he so clueless now?

Leng Yue is sometimes playful, sometimes calm, sometimes thoughtful, sometimes aloof and aloof. She's unpredictable, yet she's never done anything to hurt them. Everything she does is for their own good. But there's no such thing as unprovoked kindness in this world. Why would she help them? If she truly is kindhearted, why would she know so much about them?

Why did she appear? Why did she approach them? Why did she help them?

Who is she and what does she want to achieve?

Ouyang Mingri felt that his thinking had fallen into a vicious circle, going around in circles but unable to figure it out.

He stared into her eyes more than once. They were as clear as a pool of water, so clear that one could see the bottom, without a trace of evil or scheming. Was she honest, or was she scheming deeply?

"Forget it. No matter what her purpose is, we should deal with it as it comes. We should just act according to the circumstances." After thinking about it, Ouyang Mingri relaxed and went to sleep.
