Chapter Five
Shi Qing was stunned, unable to understand why Liang Yuheng would ask her for the key.
"It's convenient, but are you coming over later?"
Shi Qing thought that she also had a key to their marital home. After all, they were already married, so it didn't matter if they had each other's keys.
"Um."
Liang Yuheng did not offer any further explanation.
To Shi Qing's surprise, he not only didn't mind the poor environment, but was even willing to come back again.
"Wait a moment, the key is in the bedside table drawer, I'll go get it."
Liang Yuheng looked at her and said, "Okay."
Shi Qing, with her bare white feet on the carpet, squatted down in front of the bedside table and rummaged through the items.
Liang Yuheng glanced at the fair ankles unintentionally, then quickly looked away and silently took a sip of water.
"Should I put it somewhere?" Shi Qing thought he probably wouldn't need it, and the key might get lost after a while.
"No need." Liang Yuheng took it and casually put it in his pants pocket. "Okay, I'll go back first. Call me if anything comes up."
"Okay, bye-bye." Shi Qing saw him off at the door.
"Bye-Bye."
After Liang Yuheng left, Shi Qing took scissors and opened the package.
There were dozens of free-range eggs inside, stuffed with foam paper, laid by chickens that Shi Qing's maternal grandmother fed herself.
There were two cleaned and slaughtered free-range chickens next to them, wrapped in plastic bags and ice.
The other package contained glutinous corn and peanuts grown by her maternal grandmother, which Shi Qing really liked to eat.
At the bottom was a bag of yellow apricots, each one round and plump, clearly carefully selected by Grandma.
These apricots also came from the old tree in Shi Qing's maternal grandmother's yard. She remembered that every spring, the apricot blossoms were always the first to bloom, and they were very beautiful, scattered like stars.
Shi Qing has loved eating all kinds of sour fruits since she was a child, and she especially loves the sweet and sour apricots from her maternal grandmother's house.
Because of the one-child policy, she was abandoned at her maternal grandmother's house by Zhang Mei after birth. Since she was a girl, her parents always felt she was a burden.
It wasn't until junior high school that her parents had no choice but to bring her to live with them so she could attend school.
However, the time Shi Qing spent living in the countryside was the happiest time of her life. Her grandmother treated her very well, and she had many friends to play with.
Shi Qing put the food in the refrigerator, washed and ate a few apricots, and then made a video call to her grandmother.
Shi Qing lay on the bed, unusually relaxed: "Hey, Grandma, I just got home. I got the things."
Grandma's tone was cheerful: "Okay, okay, the things aren't broken, are they?"
"No, I just ate a few apricots, they were delicious."
"I knew you liked to eat that. By the way, Qingqing, I heard from your mom on the phone yesterday that you found a boyfriend?"
Upon hearing the words "boyfriend," Liang Yuheng's face suddenly appeared in Shi Qing's mind.
"Yes, Grandma, I was planning to tell you after things settled down between the two of us."
Grandma smiled and said, "It's alright, I know now. How is he?"
"He's a very nice person. My friend introduced him to me, so you can rest assured."
Grandma was very happy to hear that: "That's good. As long as people treat you well, I won't worry."
Shi Qing then chatted with her grandmother for another half hour before hanging up the phone.
Liang Yuheng received a call from his father, Liang Hongzhi, in the car, telling him that he had to go back.
After hanging up the phone, he felt extremely bad.
As he put his phone in his pocket, he felt something hard. Liang Yuheng took out the thin key, and a gentle smile appeared on his face. The corners of his mouth unconsciously turned up.
"Go home first."
Liang Yuheng actually has a slight case of mysophobia. He had gotten his clothes a little dirty from helping Shi Qing move the delivery boxes. In addition, the outside temperature had made him sweat a lot, and he really disliked the sticky feeling on his body.
"Okay, Mr. Liang."

The next day was unusually cloudy. Although there was no sun, the air was stuffy and dry.
Shi Qing brought some yellow apricots to her colleagues today. Her grandmother sent her a lot, and they would go bad if she couldn't finish them all.
There was a morning meeting at the store on Monday morning. The store manager summarized the recent problems and then gave a special commendation to Shi Qing.
Because several of her regular customers have brought their friends over recently, and they've all given her good reviews.
After the meeting, there was still some time before class, so Shi Qing shared the apricots she had brought with her colleagues.
Qi Li picked one up: "Wow! This apricot is quite big, Xiao Qing, where did you buy it?"
The other people also took one each.
Shi Qing: "My grandma sent them to me yesterday. They were from the apricot tree in her yard."
Qi Li found it intriguing: "We definitely have to try it! These kinds of apricots are hard to find these days!"
Shi Qing: "It might be a bit sour, I don't know if you can get used to it."
Shi Qing was delighted to hear Qi Li and several other colleagues say it was delicious.
On the other side, Zhao Xiaoxue's face had been dark ever since the store manager praised Shi Qing that morning.
Zhao Xiaoxue said to the girl next to her with a look of disgust, "She really has the nerve to bring this kind of country stuff here, isn't she ashamed!"
The girl, Wang Senran, was also speechless: "Exactly, this kind of thing makes my teeth ache just looking at it. I wouldn't even give it to a dog."
Zhao Xiaoxue: "He wants to curry favor with people but is unwilling to spend money, like a country bumpkin."
Wang Senran pouted: "The store manager praised her today, look how happy she is. Why do so many people sign up for her classes? There are plenty of people in our store who are better than her."
Zhao Xiaoxue: "She doesn't have any real skills. Just wait until someone comes to her for a refund."
The two of them were complaining, but they weren't very loud.
Shi Qing heard bits and pieces of it, but didn't pay much attention to it.
In short, they looked down on her.
As long as she maintains her customer base, they will have nothing to say.
After class at noon, Shi Qing saw the message sent by Liang Yuheng.
Liang Yuheng: [Call me back when you're resting.]
Shi Qing didn't know what Liang Yuheng wanted to see her about, and was worried that he might have something to do next Sunday and wouldn't be able to go.
"Hello, I just finished class." Shi Qing found his number and dialed it.
Liang Yuheng's deep voice came over: "I had someone install an air conditioner for you today, and Aunt Sun also tidied up your room."
Aunt Sun was someone Liang Yuheng had told her before; she was the housekeeper he had always used, and she was a very nice person.
But Shi Qing never expected that Liang Yuheng asked her for the key so that he could help her install the air conditioner.
Aside from expressing her gratitude, Shi Qing didn't know what to say for a moment.
Liang Yuheng has been too good to her these past two days, which makes Shi Qing feel touched but also burdened.
Apart from her maternal grandparents, no one had ever treated her so well.
She knew that it wouldn't be good to keep refusing Liang Yuheng, and she was afraid that if she said too much, he would be unhappy.
But Shi Qing is the kind of person who won't accept rewards without merit.
She had a roommate in college, and the two got along quite well at first.
But one day, her roommate asked Shi Qing if she actually didn't like her.
Because I always felt that she was very clear about everything and always kept people at arm's length.
Shi Qing has always known that she is not good at getting along with others, and apart from Zhou Xinxin, she has very few people she can get along with.
As for why Liang Yuheng was suddenly being so nice to her, Shi Qing figured it must be because she had told Zhou Han about their situation last time.
I should have told her not to tell Liang Yuheng.
Seeing that Shi Qing remained silent, Liang Yuheng asked, "Are you unhappy?"
