Chapter Nine

Chapter Nine

Holding a black umbrella, Liang Yuheng ran towards her step by step, his shiny black leather shoes splashing water.

Why is Liang Yuheng here?

Shi Qing thought she was dreaming; the scene seemed so unreal.

It wasn't until that handsome face appeared before her eyes that Shi Qing came to her senses.

Looking at his spotless gray shirt, Shi Qing subconsciously thought about how ugly she looked at that moment.

The rain wasn't heavy yet, but her white T-shirt was already soaked.

Her hair was damp and stuck to her scalp. I don't know if the eyeliner she used in the morning was really waterproof, otherwise she would definitely look like a ghost right now.

For some reason, Shi Qing really didn't want Liang Yuheng to see her like this.

"Didn't bring an umbrella?"

Liang Yuheng held the umbrella over their heads, and his cool, gentle voice rang out.

"Yes, I forgot to bring it." Shi Qing was too embarrassed to look him in the eye, and her gaze fell on his arm holding the umbrella handle.

His grey shirt was neatly rolled up, revealing his long, slender arms. On his wrist was a silver-faced watch with a black alligator leather strap, exuding understated luxury.

Liang Yuheng: "Let's go, I'll see you off."

It's already past nine o'clock. If Liang Yuheng takes her home and then goes back, he doesn't know how late it will be.

Even on a sunny day, Shi Qing didn't want to bother him.

Besides, she was soaking wet today and didn't want to get his car all wet.

"No need, there's a subway station not far ahead, I can walk there," Shi Qing politely declined.

Just then, a drop of water rolled onto Shi Qing's eyelid. She felt a little uncomfortable and raised her hand to wipe it.

Liang Yuheng's gaze instantly fell on her arm, and his brows furrowed: "What happened to your arm?"

After several hours, Shi Qing's wrist had become noticeably swollen.

Her skin was originally very fair, but now the bluish-purple discoloration was extremely noticeable.

Shi Qing glanced at it dismissively: "It's nothing, I just tripped and fell."

Liang Yuheng: "Did you go to the hospital?"

Shi Qing had been injured much more seriously before but never went to the hospital. This little injury would heal in a few days, so she was too lazy to go.

Besides, the clinic is closed at this time, and I have to go see Liang Yuheng's mother tomorrow, Sunday, so I don't have time to go.

Shi Qing smiled and said, "I didn't go. It's not serious. I have some ointment at home."

Liang Yuheng's expression darkened slightly. He took the things from her arms, grabbed her left wrist, and walked towards the parking lot.

Shi Qing was stunned for a moment, staring fixedly at the place he was pulling her towards.

Liang Yuheng tilted the umbrella towards her, and soon his left shoulder was soaked by raindrops.

He let go of her hand, opened the car door, and let her get in first.

Seeing that his aura was too strong, Shi Qing had no choice but to obediently do as he said.

Liang Yuheng came in afterward and said to Zhao Fei in a deep voice, "Go to the hospital."

The air inside the car was much colder than outside. Shi Qing, who was soaked in sweat, couldn't help but shiver when she suddenly entered.

Liang Yuheng handed over the shawl she had used last time, and then asked Zhao Fei to turn up the temperature.

Because her right hand was injured and she couldn't use it, Shi Qing could only slowly open the shawl with her left hand.

Liang Yuheng glanced at her, then took the shawl and draped it over her back.

"Thank you." Shi Qing glanced at him.

Liang Yuheng's thin lips were taut, and he remained silent.

Shi Qing could sense that he was in a bad mood, so she had no choice but to sit quietly and go to the hospital.

The car was unusually quiet; you could hear the windshield wipers rhythmically beating.

Even with Liang Yuheng sitting to the side, Shi Qing still felt uncomfortable, especially since he seemed to be in a bad mood for some reason today, so she didn't dare to say much.

Shi Qing turned her face to the window to distract herself.

Does your hand hurt?

The person next to him suddenly spoke, breaking the silence inside the car.

Shi Qing turned her face to meet his gaze.

The car was dimly lit, but you could still see the superior and sculpted profile of his face.

"fine."

Shi Qing felt that it didn't hurt as much as when she first fell, but it would be a lie to say that it didn't hurt at all.

Liang Yuheng took a bottle of mineral water from the car refrigerator.

The next moment, Shi Qing saw him pull her hand over.

With their palms touching, Shi Qing could clearly feel the dryness and texture of his hands.

Liang Yuheng gently placed the water on her swollen wrist. The icy touch made Shi Qing flinch as soon as it touched her skin.

However, her hand was held tightly by the person opposite her, and she couldn't pull it away.

Liang Yuheng's tone was much gentler than before: "It will hurt a little, just bear with it."

Shi Qing stared at him intently, lost in thought for a moment.

As her wrist gradually adjusted to the temperature of the ice water, she felt quite comfortable, and it seemed like the pain had really subsided.

Seeing that she was no longer moving, Liang Yuheng loosened his grip on her hand.

Shi Qing's palms were slightly sweaty.

"I'll do it myself."

Shi Qing noticed that Liang Yuheng was lying on his side and was worried that he might be uncomfortable.

This time, Liang Yuheng let go of her hand, looked at her quietly for a few seconds, and then sat up straight.

Liang Yuheng could sense that Shi Qing didn't want to get close to him.

During the last meal, Shi Qing seemed to be deliberately distancing herself from him.

A strange feeling welled up in Liang Yuheng's heart. He irritably tugged at his tie and leaned back deeply.

Neither of them spoke after that.

Another ten minutes or so later, the driver drove the car to the hospital parking lot.

Liang Yuheng said to Zhao Fei, "You should go back first."

"Okay, Mr. Liang."

Zhao Fei was naturally happy to hear that he could leave work early.

They came to a private hospital, which not only had a good environment but also few people.

The female nurse who was on night duty was chatting idly with her colleagues when she saw Liang Yuheng, and her eyes lit up.

A young female nurse warmly and considerately led them to the examination room.

The doctor examined Shi Qing's arm and determined it was a sprain, but the problem was not serious.

He prescribed two boxes of medicine to improve blood circulation and remove blood stasis for Shi Qing, and told her to pay attention to rest.

Liang Yuheng felt relieved after hearing this.

The two went to the corridor, and Liang Yuheng pointed to a chair: "Sit down for a while. Someone will bring the medicine over later. I'm going to take a call."

"OK."

Shi Qing had just heard the doctor say that her wrist injury wasn't serious, and she felt quite embarrassed to have troubled Liang Yuheng to make the trip.

But I was still very touched.

This feeling of being cared for would move anyone. Whether Liang Yuheng was looking after her because of Zhou Han's instructions or because he was her nominal husband, Shi Qing was very grateful to him.

Liang Yuheng saw the missed call from Xia Mingqiu and quickly called back.

"Hey, Ah Heng, are you off work yet?" Xia Mingqiu's cheerful voice came through the phone.

Liang Yuheng: "Mom, I'm off work. What's up?"

Xia Mingqiu: "I wanted to ask what time you're coming tomorrow?"

Liang Yuheng: "Mom, Shi Qing hurt her hand, we're still at the hospital. How about we go to your place another day?"

Xia Mingqiu was startled: "How did you get injured! Is it serious?"

Liang Yuheng reassured him, "Don't worry, it's not serious, just a slight sprain."

Xia Mingqiu was relieved: "It's good that she's alright. Let her rest well, and you don't need to come over tomorrow. I'll go see her at your place."

Liang Yuheng glanced in Shi Qing's direction. She

She was sitting upright in her chair at that moment, and looked over at him, giving him a slight smile.

The girl had a small, delicate face and bright, dark eyes. Because she was soaked in the rain, she looked a little pitiful, making people want to protect her.

After pausing for two seconds, Liang Yuheng looked away and said, "That works too."

The mother and son chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up.

"Shi Qing".

Liang Yuheng's deep voice came from the corridor.

He rarely called her by her name directly.

Shi Qing looked up and asked, "What's wrong?"

Liang Yuheng put his phone in his pocket, strode over, and stopped in front of her: "My mom wants to come see you tomorrow."

Shi Qing was taken aback for a moment, then said, flattered, "This little injury doesn't need to trouble you, Auntie."

“But I’ve already promised her.” Liang Yuheng seemed a little hesitant, paused for a moment and then said, “If you don’t want to, I can call her now.”

"Wait a minute," Shi Qing quickly stopped her upon hearing this.

It wasn't that she was unwilling; she genuinely felt it was unnecessary.

But if Liang Yuheng had already told his mother, she would feel very distant if he called her now.

Fine, since he's already agreed, let's go to his house to meet him.

It doesn't really matter where we meet.

Upon hearing this, Liang Yuheng slowly took his hand out of his pocket and looked up at her.

Shi Qing said gently, "Don't hit it anymore, let Auntie do it."

"Mm." Liang Yuheng nodded.

Shi Qing suddenly thought of something: "Um, does Auntie think we live together?"

Liang Yuheng responded calmly, "Yes."

Sure enough, Liang Yuheng must have told his family that they were married.

So her mother definitely didn't know they didn't live together.

Shi Qing: "Then I'll go there tomorrow morning?"

Liang Yuheng: "If you'd like, I'll come pick you up in the morning."

"I can take a taxi myself." Shi Qing thought that tomorrow was the weekend, so she should let Liang Yuheng get some rest.

"It's nothing, I was the one who troubled you."

Seeing that he had already said that, Shi Qing had no choice but to agree.

However, she was a little worried and asked, "Won't Auntie realize that we don't live together?"

Liang Yuheng lightly touched his nose, seemingly unsure: "Probably not, I bought some women's products for home use."

Shi Qing nodded: "That's good."

Just then, the nurse brought the medicine over, and the two of them took it and prepared to go home.

As I stepped out the gate, the rain outside was getting heavier and heavier.

Liang Yuheng opened the umbrella, and the two jogged to the parking lot.

Shi Qing had always sat in the back seat the previous times and had gotten used to it, so she thought she would sit in the back again later.

Unexpectedly, Liang Yuheng opened the passenger door, and Shi Qing thanked him and got in.

Liang Yuheng walked back to the driver's seat, opened the door, and came in.

Because of her right hand injury, Shi Qing could only fasten the seatbelt with one hand. As soon as she raised her head, she felt someone leaning towards her side and grabbing the seatbelt first.

Their fingers touched briefly.

Shi Qing smelled Liang Yuheng's refreshing and crisp scent again, and her heart involuntarily beat a little faster.

The seatbelt snapped shut with a "snap".

"Thank you," Shi Qing said softly as she slowly withdrew her hand.

Liang Yuheng suddenly stopped, maintaining his original posture as he slowly raised his head to look at her.

They were still very close to each other, and Shi Qing could clearly see his smooth face.

Liang Yuheng's lips curled slightly: "You can't do it like this?"

"Huh?" Shi Qing blinked, puzzled.

Liang Yuheng braced himself on her chair with one hand, staring at her with his dark eyes: "My mother is coming tomorrow, are you still going to keep saying those two words?"

Shi Qing then realized that she had already said "thank you" to Liang Yuheng many times today, which was indeed very polite.

If his mother saw this, she would definitely find it strange.

"I'm sorry, I'll try not to say it tomorrow," Shi Qing said, somewhat embarrassed.

"Not tomorrow, and don't be so polite in the future."

Although Shi Qing felt it would be difficult for her to do it all at once, Liang Yuheng's words made sense.

If she develops this habit, it will be very difficult for her to change it when she sees his family.

"I see."

Liang Yuheng leaned back, his gaze still fixed on her face: "You look very nervous."

Shi Qing didn't expect him to say that. She was already uncomfortable being stared at by him, and now she sat there stiffly, clutching the medicine she had just taken.

She was indeed nervous. Every time Liang Yuheng got close to her, she would unconsciously become nervous, which was really hard to control.

"Are you afraid of me?" Liang Yuheng asked again when she didn't speak.

"No." Shi Qing shook her head.

It's not that I'm afraid of him, it's just that Liang Yuheng naturally gives people a feeling of being difficult to approach.

Liang Yuheng's voice was indifferent, his slender fingers resting on the steering wheel: "Is that what you call dislike?"

Shi Qing shook her head even more vigorously this time: "No, I don't dislike it."

How could she possibly hate him?

Someone as outstanding and dazzling as Liang Yuheng only makes people feel that he is unattainable.

Besides, he's such a nice person.

"Then why are you nervous?"
