Chapter Seventeen

Liang Yuheng, tall and imposing, stood alone with his hands in his pockets beside Shi Qing.

The words "Madam" were still echoing in her ears; this was the first time Liang Yuheng had ever called her that.

The irritation that Shao Guang had just caused Shi Qing had vanished without a trace.

Seeing Liang Yuheng standing beside her, she felt a strange sense of peace.

Although I knew he had only happened to help out of the predicament, his words just now gave the impression that he was asserting his sovereignty.

Shao Guang is also over 1.8 meters tall, but he is noticeably half a head shorter than Liang Yuheng when they stand together.

Wearing the same suit, when Liang Yuheng stood here, Shao Guang instantly paled in comparison.

When Liang Yuheng called her "Madam" just now, it was like a boulder crashing down on Shao Guang's head. He seemed frozen and couldn't believe his ears.

He naturally recognized the big Buddha in front of him; it was the heir of the Keyu Group.

Although he managed to become a director at Keyu, he was still just an employee in the end.

In the past few years in Keyu, he had never heard of Liang Yuheng getting married. Even if he did get married, how could his partner be an inconspicuous Pilates instructor?

"Mr. Liang." Despite his brain working at high speed, Shao Guang still greeted him reflexively.

Liang Yuheng stared at him coldly.

In stark contrast to his previous confidence, Shao Guang now humbly tried to appease her, explaining, "You've misunderstood. My wife takes classes at Coach Shi's shop, and I was just saying hello to her."

Liang Yuheng looked at him quietly, his face cold and indifferent.

His aura was so powerful that the surrounding air seemed to freeze, and Shao Guang's forehead began to sweat slightly.

"Say hello?" After a long pause, Liang Yuheng slowly spoke, "Are you very familiar with my wife?"

His tone wasn't harsh, but Liang Yuheng's displeasure was clearly evident.

"We're not close, we've only met once." Shao Guang's voice trembled slightly with fear.

He really wanted to slap himself twice. Why did he have to provoke Shi Qing?

Liang Yuheng's protectiveness towards Shi Qing suggests that the two must have a very good relationship.

He was able to get into Keyu mainly because of his father's connections. At this moment, Shao Guang was worried that he would receive a dismissal notice today.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Liang, I was wrong. I really didn't know Coach Shi was your wife."

Liang Yuheng's gaze was frosty, his brow furrowed: "The one you should apologize to is not me."

"Yes, yes." Shao Guang hurriedly turned to Shi Qing. "Coach Shi, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have offended you just now. Please don't be angry. I'll treat you and President Liang to dinner another day to apologize, okay?"

Shi Qing found Shao Guang's expression at this moment absurd.

"There's no need for a meal. But I want to give you some advice: you're not so charming to everyone. Even if I weren't Mrs. Liang, I wouldn't want to say another word to you. I hope you won't mess with other people in the future, especially those from our shop."

Shi Qing could tell that this person was a bully who preyed on the weak and seemed to be very afraid of Liang Yuheng.

With Liang Yuheng's support, she was finally able to speak her mind.

This feels so good!

Shao Guang nodded repeatedly: "You're right, I promise I won't go to your shop again."

"Let's go." Liang Yuheng turned his head to look at Shi Qing, without glancing at Shao Guang again.

Shi Qing hummed in agreement and got into the car with him.

Shao Guang felt a cold sweat run down his back and slunk away in his car.

Shi Qing noticed that Liang Yuheng had driven himself here today, so she sat in the passenger seat.

Liang Yuheng fastened her seatbelt as he had done before, but did not immediately turn around to drive back.

Shi Qing looked up and found him staring at her, so she asked, "What's wrong?"

Liang Yuheng curled his lip slightly: "I didn't expect you to say those things just now."

"I was just using someone else's power to bully others. It's good that you were here today, otherwise this person would be even more annoying." Shi Qing's tense body relaxed slightly, and she spoke truthfully.

"That's good. Don't let yourself suffer in the future." Liang Yuheng started the car and drove forward.

Shi Qing's eyes flickered slightly.

Liang Yuheng not only didn't care that she was using his "name" to scare people, but also said that he wouldn't let her suffer any injustice.

"If I weren't here today, how would you handle this situation?" Liang Yuheng asked.

Shi Qing seemed to remember something and fell silent for a moment.

"They might call the police, I can't say for sure."

Liang Yuheng stared straight ahead, his clear, magnetic voice ringing out: "Didn't you ever think of looking for me?"

Having spent time with Liang Yuheng, Shi Qing knows he is a warm-hearted and righteous person. She knows he would definitely be willing to help her if she encountered any difficulties.

However, she had developed the habit of solving problems on her own since childhood. Besides, Liang Yuheng wasn't her real husband, so how could she be so lacking in tact?

Seeing that Shi Qing remained silent, Liang Yuheng knew that she had tacitly agreed.

"It feels good to be needed. I hope that one day you will take the initiative to contact me."

The car fell silent for a moment.

Shi Qing looked at the person beside her.

Liang Yuheng's profile was as perfect as a sculpture. He looked quietly ahead, as if he had stepped out of a two-dimensional world.

"Thanks."

"Would you like to treat me to a meal?" Liang Yuheng suddenly turned his head to look at Shi Qing, a smile on his lips.

Shi Qing was somewhat surprised: "Now?"

Liang Yuheng: "Yeah, I didn't eat much for dinner, I'm a little hungry."

"Okay, whatever you want to eat, order whatever you like." Shi Qing had been wanting to treat him to a proper meal for a while.

Liang Yuheng saw a wonton shop by the roadside and slowed down: "This is it."

"Isn't it too easy?"

Liang Yuheng: "It's nothing, I just suddenly felt like eating."

"Alright then."

Shi Qing rarely had a chance to properly repay him, but all she got was wontons, which left her feeling a little disappointed.

Liang Yuheng saw through her thoughts: "So you really want to treat me to a big meal?"

Shi Qing blinked and nodded.

Liang Yuheng smiled and said, "No rush, there will be many more opportunities in the future."

Shi Qing thought it made sense, so she happily decided to treat him to wontons.

The two arrived at the store, which was quiet and empty at this time of day.

Shi Qing felt a little relieved to see that the renovation was fairly clean.

After ordering, they randomly found a seat and sat down.

Shi Qing took out a wet wipe from her bag and wiped the table in front of Liang Yuheng.

Liang Yuheng chuckled and said, "I'm not that delicate."

Shi Qing paused for a moment: "That's not what I meant."

She felt that Liang Yuheng was from a different world than her; he was so clean and noble that he didn't seem to belong here.

Liang Yuheng crossed his arms and leaned back: "Do you have some kind of prejudice against me?"

Shi Qing said, "No, I don't think so."

“I’m just an ordinary person, no different from you. It seems like there’s always been a wall between us. You can’t exclude me from your mind just because of my background.” Liang Yuheng looked at her quietly, his eyes deep.

Shi Qing never expected Liang Yuheng to voice her thoughts, nor did she expect him to think the same way.

But what else should it be like?

They only got married because they had common problems. If it weren't for Zhou Han, they would never have crossed paths.

Is Liang Yuheng just too lonely? In that world full of intrigue and backstabbing, he longs for a simpler friend every now and then.

That must be it!

Indeed, all people are equal in terms of personality, and she should open her heart, just like she did with Zhou Han.

"I will never push you away again."

Shi Qing's eyes were firm and passionate.

Liang Yuheng was stunned for a moment, and his heart inexplicably skipped a beat.

"I will be good friends with you from now on." Shi Qing decided that from today onwards, Liang Yuheng could also experience a pure friendship.

Liang Yuheng: "..."

For some reason, Shi Qing sensed that Liang Yuheng was still not very happy.

Could it be that she guessed wrong?

"Your wontons are all served." The waitress smiled as she admired the handsome couple in front of her.

Shi Qing: "Thank you, Auntie."

Afterwards, the two ate quietly. Shi Qing remembered that she had gone home on Sunday: "Um, there's something I want to discuss with you."

"Go ahead," Liang Yuheng said, stirring the contents of the bowl with a spoon.

Shi Qing hesitated to speak, but still said, "My family is quite materialistic. Could you pretend you're not that rich?"

“Okay.” Liang Yuheng didn’t seem to think it was a big deal, and scooped up a small wonton and blew on it.

Shi Qing: "If they say anything strange, don't take it to heart."

"Okay." Liang Yuheng put down his spoon. "But, can I also discuss something with you?"

Shi Qing: "What?"

Liang Yuheng: "As a friend, don't I have a name?"

Shi Qing choked up for a moment.

Indeed, she rarely called him by his name. Thinking about it carefully, apart from calling him "Aheng" a few times in front of Xia Mingqiu, she never did it when the two of them were alone.

Given their previous acquaintance and the fact that Liang Yuheng was two years older than her, she felt it wasn't appropriate to call him by his name directly.

"I don't know what to call you," Shi Qing said, looking down at her bowl.

Liang Yuheng: "What do you usually call your other friends?"

Shi Qing: "That's different."

Liang Yuheng snorted: "It seems that what you said just now wasn't sincere."

She was definitely sincere.

Fearing that Liang Yuheng would be unhappy, Shi Qing had no choice but to ask, "Then what do you think I should call you?"

Liang Yuheng raised an eyebrow: "Can I say whatever I want?"

Shi Qing figured he couldn't really say anything strange, so she nodded and said, "Yes."

Liang Yuheng is the one who calls out at home, right?

Shi Qing thought for a moment and asked, confirming, "Aheng?"

Liang Yuheng didn't look at her, and added some vinegar to the bowl.

Although it felt a little awkward, Shi Qing had already agreed, so she had no choice but to agree as well.

It's just a name anyway.

"Okay, then I'll call you Aheng from now on." Shi Qing smiled sweetly at him.

Upon hearing this, Liang Yuheng's hand trembled slightly.

Too much vinegar was poured in.

Seeing that the color in his bowl was gradually darkening, Shi Qing asked with concern, "Did you add too much?"

"It's okay, I like sour food."

After seeing him eat a wonton with a blank expression, Shi Qing silently sighed, wondering how much he liked it.

After the two finished eating, Liang Yuheng drove to Shi Qing's former residence to retrieve her clothes.

Shi Qing is now much more relaxed around Liang Yuheng. After a long day, she leaned back in her chair and fell asleep without realizing it.

While waiting at a red light, Liang Yuheng turned his head to look over and turned up the air conditioning temperature a few degrees.

For a moment, he thought of what Shi Qing had said at the wonton shop, and then murmured to himself, "Who wants to be friends with you?"
