Chapter 3: He just ate a little too much, so what if he has to go beg for food!

Seeing Qiqi crying sadly, the dean felt a pang of heartache.

He wiped his eyes and, like an old father to Ji Chengfeng, earnestly instructed, "President Ji, please take good care of Qiqi. If, if one day you no longer like her, please, please send her back safely. Whatever you do, please don't hurt her!"

Hearing the old dean's words, Qiqi cried even louder.

The first person she met after coming into this world was the old dean.

The former dean treated her very well, loving her like his own granddaughter.

No matter how much she ate, the old director never complained and would even secretly give her snacks when she was hungry.

She couldn't bear to leave the director, Grandpa, and everyone at the orphanage.

Qiqi suddenly broke free from Madam Ji's hand and rushed towards the old director: "Grandpa Director..."

The old dean immediately squatted down, stretched out his arms, and caught the little girl firmly.

Seeing her tears, my heart clenched.

"Don't cry, Qiqi. If you don't want to leave, you can stay. Grandpa Dean will take care of you!"

So what if he ate a little too much? At worst, he'll have to go beg for food!

He refused to believe that he couldn't afford to raise a three-and-a-half-year-old girl.

Upon hearing this, Qiqi immediately stopped crying and shook her head vigorously, saying, "No, no, no, Qiqi wants to go back with Daddy and Mommy. Qiqi wants to eat meat!"

She was truly fed up with the bland and unappetizing life at the orphanage!

Even though the old director was very kind, and everyone else in the orphanage was kind, it couldn't stop her from wanting to eat meat.

"You heartless little thing!" The old director gently poked Qiqi's forehead, then carefully wiped away her tears before pushing her toward Ji Chengfeng and his wife. "Go, go, go quickly!"

His reddened eyes revealed his reluctance to part with Qiqi, as if he was afraid that if he hesitated for even a second, he would not be able to bear seeing Qiqi leave.

This scene broke the hearts of everyone present.

Ji Chengfeng solemnly promised the old dean, "Dean, rest assured, we will definitely treat Qiqi as our own daughter and will never let her suffer any grievances!"

The old dean nodded and wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes.

Qiqi turned around and walked towards Madam Ji, taking her hand and looking back every few steps.

Just before getting on the bus, she turned around, choked up, and called out to the old director, "Grandpa Director, I put the medicine in the cabinet in your office. You have a heart condition, remember to take your medicine on time!"

The old dean's eyes widened in disbelief.

What did Qiqi mean by that?

Could it be that the person who saved him before... was Qiqi?!

The black Bentley slowly started and disappeared from the old dean's sight.

He stumbled back to his office, opened the cabinet, and saw a row of neatly stacked medicine bottles. He couldn't help but burst into tears.

In the Bentley, Qiqi sat obediently in Madam Ji's lap.

He held a bright red apple in both hands, but didn't eat it. His eyes were downcast, and he looked somewhat lonely.

Remembering that she was reminding the old director to take his medicine before she left, Ji Chengfeng felt that she must have been worried about the old director's health.

So he said softly, "Qiqi, don't worry. The hospitals under the Ji family have experts in treating heart diseases. Dad can arrange for the old director to have a full-body check-up and tailor a treatment plan for you. Nothing will happen to the old director."

Qiqi's eyes lit up, but then she thought of something and lowered her head in disappointment.

"No need, Dad. No one else can cure Grandpa Dean's illness." Even she could only save his life temporarily.

There is absolutely no way to cure it.

Ji Chengfeng was taken aback: "Then the medicine you just mentioned..."

"I made it for Grandpa Director." Not long after she arrived at the orphanage, the director suffered a sudden heart attack and almost died.

Taking advantage of the chaos, she performed acupuncture on the dean, barely managing to save his life.

Later, the hospital director was sent to the hospital and underwent bypass surgery, but he was too old and his organs were gradually failing. No matter how he was treated, he would inevitably die.

"Our Qiqi is really amazing, she can even make medicine!" Ji Chengfeng praised her, but he didn't really take Qiqi's words to heart.

He guessed that Qiqi's so-called alchemy was probably just a product that the little girl casually made with candy beans.

How could a three-and-a-half-year-old child possibly know how to make medicine?

Judging from Ji Chengfeng's expression, Qiqi knew he didn't believe her.

She sighed, not intending to explain. She figured that as they spent more time together, they would naturally realize that what she said was true.

She's only just been adopted by the Ji family, so we need to keep her hidden to avoid her being returned!

Although she had only been at the orphanage for three months, she had already met several children who had been adopted but then returned.

"What was Qiqi thinking just now?" Madam Ji patted her head and asked with concern.

Qiqi lowered her head and didn't say anything.

She was just thinking about how to accumulate enough spiritual power to help them solve their problems.

Actually, she had already figured it out at the orphanage: Ji Chengfeng's luck had been borrowed, and Madam Ji had been cursed.

These two problems are not difficult to solve; the problem is that her current spiritual power is not enough to solve both problems at the same time.

However, she couldn't tell them these things yet, lest they take it as nonsense again.

Qiqi thought for a moment, then said in her childish voice, "Qiqi heard from Grandpa the director that Daddy has many older brothers. Qiqi is worried that the brothers won't like Qiqi. Will Daddy and Mommy send Qiqi back to the orphanage for the sake of the brothers?"

The little girl lowered her head, her voice soft and filled with unease and worry, which pained Madam Ji.

She immediately hugged Qiqi tightly: "Qiqi is so cute, how could the brothers not like you?!"

"Yes, yes, yes," Ji Chengfeng said, feeling sorry for the little girl who looked like she was about to cry. He kept assuring her, "If they dare not like you, Daddy will break their legs!"

Qiqi never expected that her casual excuse would elicit such a solemn guarantee from the couple.

Deeply moved, I resolved that no matter how difficult it was, I must find a way to solve their problems.

She tilted her head back and gave Ji Chengfeng and Madam Ji a quick kiss on the cheek, her sweet little voice saying, "Thank you, Daddy. Thank you, Mommy."

"Oh my, my precious daughter..." Madam Ji was overjoyed.

My daughter is so sweet and soft; a kiss from her is enough to warm her heart.

The car quickly drove into the Ji family villa. The butler jogged over to open the car door and paused for a moment when he saw Qiqi.

Madam Ji introduced her to him softly: "Uncle Lin, this is Qiqi. From now on, she will be the eldest daughter of our Ji family."

Butler Lin was someone who had worked for Master Ji. After Master Ji passed away, Uncle Lin originally intended to retire and return to his hometown.

However, he never married, and Ji Chengfeng was worried that he would be alone and helpless in his old age, so he wanted to keep him and take care of him in his old age.

But Uncle Lin adhered to his duties as a servant and was unwilling to take advantage of them for nothing. He only wanted to continue working as the steward of the Ji family.

Left with no other choice, Ji Chengfeng had to agree.

However, Ji Chengfeng and his family did not treat him as a housekeeper, but rather as an elder, and respected him greatly.

Uncle Lin quickly realized what was happening and respectfully greeted Qi Qi, "Welcome home, Miss!"
