In Chapter 209, less than five minutes had passed. How could the person have disappeared?

Inside the private room, Qiqi swung her legs and ate a piece of bread with both hands.

Those were snacks that Madam Ji brought for her, and this was the only one left.

Sensing an unfamiliar presence approaching, Qiqi's big, dark eyes darted around, and a smile curved her lips.

It seems that her performance in the car successfully piqued the other party's interest.

Now, all she needs to do is obediently play the role of an innocent little girl, let the other party successfully kidnap her, and see what they really want to do.

Thinking of this, Qiqi continued to nibble on her bread. The thought of fighting bad guys in a little while made her little legs swing even more energetically.

"Little Qiqi, why are you here all alone? Where is your second brother?" Charles smiled and walked towards Qiqi, looking very kind.

Qiqi paused in her munching on bread, turned around and glanced at him, her pretty little face wary. "Who are you? How do you know my name?"

“I’m your father’s friend; he’s the one who told me your name. Your father has something to attend to, so he asked me to come and pick you up to see him.” Charles grinned like a big bad wolf trying to lure Little Red Riding Hood. “You really are as cute as your father said!”

Qiqi stuffed the last bite of bread into her mouth, her chubby cheeks puffing out, making her look like a cute little hamster.

Her gaze towards Charles didn't soften with trust at all, even after he mentioned his father; she remained wary. "Are you really Dad's friend?"

Because she had something in her mouth, her voice was somewhat muffled.

Surprisingly, Charles understood it.

He looked at Qiqi with a smile, his blue eyes revealing sincerity, completely unaware that he was deceiving a three-year-old girl. "Of course I'm your father's friend. Otherwise, how would I know your name and that you came with your second brother?"

He looked very young, around twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, and was wearing only a white shirt, looking clean and tidy.

His eyes were a beautiful color, the same blue as the ocean, and paired with his elegant smile, he really looked like a gentleman.

Unfortunately, all Qiqi found was nauseating.

No matter how well someone dresses, it can't hide the stench of a scumbag at heart!

However, she couldn't show it yet, only feigning a bewildered and thoughtful expression, as if he had convinced her. "Alright then, Uncle, what you said seems to make sense. So, did Dad want to see me about something?"

“Your father’s company is having some problems. He suspects there’s something supernatural involved, so he wants you to go and take a look.”

On his way here, he also conducted a special investigation into Qiqi and learned that she possessed some amazing abilities.

However, as a materialist who firmly believes in science, Charles simply cannot believe that a three-year-old girl would possess mysterious Eastern metaphysics.

Upon hearing that her father's company had run into trouble, Qiqi immediately panicked, "Really? Uncle, let's go quickly!"

As he spoke, he jumped off the chair and started running outside.

She had only run two steps when someone lapped her up and carried her back.

Charles stretched and lifted the little girl up, then supported her bottom with one arm while taking a pretty rainbow lollipop out of his pocket and handing it to her.

"Uncle came in such a hurry that he forgot to prepare a gift for you. Here, have this lollipop. I'll make up for the gift later."

Qiqi glanced at him, then at the lollipop in his hand, a hint of disdain flashing in her lowered eyes.

Seriously, I've never smelled such stinky candy in my life!

But on the surface, they still had to put on a look of drooling, saying, "Wow, what beautiful candy! Thank you, Uncle!"

Qiqi reached out and took the lollipop, then took a bite.

After thinking for a moment, she took out a blue, candy-like object from her crossbody bag and handed it to him. "Thank you for the candy, Uncle. Here, have this!"

She's still just a child; a piece of candy was enough to win her over.

"Thank you, Qiqi." Charles took the candy and put it in his mouth.

It has a somewhat indescribable taste; it's a little sweet, but also a bit pungent, and there seems to be a faint medicinal smell as well.

However, he didn't take it to heart, simply assuming it was some strange Eastern flavor.

Charles carried Qiqi from the private room to the door, and Qiqi had already devoured a palm-sized lollipop in the process.

Still feeling a bit unsatisfied after finishing, he licked his lips, took out a red candy from his bag, popped it into his mouth, and crunched it.

It's just that the chewing motions are getting slower and slower, and the eyelids are getting heavier and heavier.

The little girl yawned sleepily, then frowned in surprise and said, "Uncle, why am I suddenly so sleepy..."

"It's alright, if you're sleepy, lean on your uncle and take a nap. I'll wake you when we get there." Charles's tone was gentle, but his lowered eyes held a gloomy look.

Before he finished speaking, the little girl had already tilted her head to the side, leaned on his shoulder, and fallen asleep with even breathing.

Charles took off his coat and covered the little girl's head with it.

The waiters at the door had already been moved away by his subordinates under some pretext, and he left the private room without any hindrance.

Two minutes later, Ji Jinnian returned after finishing her call and saw no waiter at the door, which made her heart skip a beat.

He suddenly pushed open the door to the private room, and upon seeing the empty room, he was immediately gripped by a tremendous sense of panic.

"Qiqi? Qiqi?" The private room wasn't big; you could see her at a glance.

Her younger sister had always been very obedient and would never run away. For some reason, Ji Jinnian remembered the group of people she had seen on the surveillance footage and rushed out of the private room in a panic.

Just then, a waiter came around the corner in the corridor, and he immediately rushed over and demanded, "Where's my sister? Have you seen my sister?"

"She was just sitting in the private room..." The waiter ran to the door of the private room, craned his head to look but couldn't find the girl anywhere, and turned pale with fright. "She, she was just here."

She saw that the little girl was very obedient and stayed quietly in the private room without moving, so when the guest asked her for help, she went to help.

How could someone disappear in less than five minutes?!

"Don't worry, I'll go check the surveillance footage for you right away!" the waiter said, quickly turning to check the footage.

The little girl was only three years old, and she was so beautiful, like a porcelain doll.

If it was just wandering around on its own, that would be one thing, but if it was taken away by someone with ulterior motives, the waiter felt like the sky was falling just thinking about it!

Ji Jinnian went with the waiter to check the surveillance footage. As soon as the manager heard that a three-year-old girl had gone missing, he immediately pulled up the footage without saying a word.

However, the surveillance footage showed that no one had entered or left their private room.

"Are you really sure the person isn't in the private room? Could they be hiding somewhere you just didn't notice?"
