Qiqi held Ji Zeqian's hand and guided him slowly across the paper.
Soon, a scribbled talisman identical to the one she had drawn before appeared on the paper.
However, the one drawn by Ji Zeqian did not have any golden light.
Seeing that he had actually finished the painting, a glimmer of light seemed to rise in Ji Zeqian's usually quiet eyes.
He stared straight at Qiqi, a barely perceptible hint of anticipation hidden in his eyes, as if he were waiting to see what kind of reward Qiqi would give him.
Qiqi didn't disappoint him; she leaned over and gave Ji Zeqian a quick kiss on the cheek.
The little girl's lips were soft, and she had a natural milky fragrance that was sweet, unlike those pungent smells that made him feel nauseous.
Ji Zeqian really liked the smell and instinctively wanted to get closer to it.
Noticing his approach, Qiqi was delighted and moved closer to him, reaching out her little hands to hug him.
Patting his back, she praised him in a childish voice, "Sixth brother is awesome!"
Ji Zeqian felt a tremor in his chest.
He liked this little sister who suddenly appeared.
Ji Zeqian's hand, which was hanging by his side, moved slightly, and he tentatively raised it, as if he wanted to hug Qiqi back.
Just then, Madam Ji's surprised and puzzled voice suddenly rang out from outside.
"Huh, what's this doll doing here?"
Someone suddenly appeared, and Ji Zeqian lowered his raised hand.
Qiqi was a little disappointed; her mother had come at the worst possible time.
However, once it happens, it will happen again.
Take your time.
Qiqi let go of Ji Zeqian, got up from the ground, and ran towards the door.
Behind him, Ji Zeqian looked at his empty arms and felt a void in his heart.
He curled his fingers and raised his hand to touch the spot where his sister had just kissed him.
"Mommy, what doll?" Qiqi peeked out cutely from the door frame.
"This." In the hallway outside, Mrs. Ji held a plate of fruit and pastries in one hand and a delicate and adorable doll in the other, her voice filled with doubt. "How come I remember you putting this on the sofa when you came back?"
That doll was a gift that Mrs. Ji specially bought for her daughter to welcome her.
When she went upstairs, Qiqi casually placed it on the sofa in the living room.
But now, it has mysteriously appeared at the door of Ji Zeqian's room on the sixth floor.
For some reason, looking at the doll in her hand, Madam Ji felt a strange chill.
Qiqi ran over, tiptoed, reached out and took the doll from Madam Ji's hand, and poked her head.
"Baby, you're being naughty. Didn't I tell you to wait for me obediently? Why did you run over here by yourself?"
Looking up at Madam Ji with an innocent expression, she asked, "Mommy, could it be that Daddy thought I forgot the doll, so he specially brought it up for me?"
is that so?
Madam Ji wondered, when Ji Chengfeng came up earlier, was he holding a doll in his hand?
Before she could figure it out, she suddenly heard Qiqi let out an exaggerated shout.
"Wow, are these pretty little cakes for Qiqi?" Qiqi looked at the little cakes in Madam Ji's hand, her mouth watering. "Qiqi has never eaten such pretty little cakes before."
Those big eyes were full of longing, which made Madam Ji feel a pang of heartache.
She didn't have time to dwell on how the doll got up there. She reached out and patted Qiqi's head, saying, "These are all for Qiqi. If Qiqi wants anything to eat in the future, just tell Mommy, and Mommy will make it for you."
"Thank you, Mommy." Qiqi tiptoed to take the tray. "I'm going to take it inside and eat with Sixth Brother."
"Mom can take it in. The tray is a bit heavy, Qiqi can't carry it..."
Madam Ji was about to say that Qiqi couldn't carry it, but Qiqi easily took the tray from her hands with her little hands and held it steadily. Madam Ji's eyes widened in surprise.
Is Qiqi's strength a bit too much for a three-and-a-half-year-old child?
Thinking this, she simply asked the question.
Qiqi puffed out her little chest and said proudly, "Qiqi is the strongest of all the children in the orphanage!"
If she hadn't been using both hands, she would have given herself a thumbs up.
Madam Ji was amused by her proud little appearance: "Qiqi is so amazing, then Mommy has struck gold."
Although there was a hint of joking in those words, when they later learned what other skills Qiqi possessed, Madam Ji felt a burning embarrassment.
They truly struck gold by adopting Qiqi.
“No, that’s not true,” Qiqi snuggled up to Madam Ji and rubbed her soft little face against her thigh. “Meeting Mommy is the real treasure for Qiqi.”
Everyone in the Jin family she has seen so far is blessed with good fortune and overflowing with luck.
There's no need to worry about her being short of money.
Qiqi felt like she had struck gold and stumbled into a treasure trove, and she grinned from ear to ear.
Mrs. Ji smiled and patted her head: "Yes, we are each other's treasures, and we will always be together."
As she said this, she looked at her youngest son, who was sitting in the room drawing something with his head down, her eyes filled with a myriad of emotions.
If only Xiaoqian could be as affectionate and playful with Qiqi as she is with Qiqi someday, how wonderful that would be.
Noticing Madam Ji's mood, Qiqi rolled her eyes and looked up at her to comfort her, "Mommy, Qiqi will heal Sixth Brother, I definitely will."
Madam Ji took it as her comforting words, which warmed her heart, but she couldn't help but sigh inwardly.
However, she didn't dampen Qiqi's enthusiasm. Instead, she smiled gently and nodded, "Okay, Mommy will wait. Now, let's go have some snacks, okay?"
Qiqi couldn't wait any longer, and the little cakes were made into all sorts of shapes.
There are little rabbits, pandas, and ducks, and they are decorated with black chocolate, yellow mangoes, snow-white cream, and red strawberries.
Qiqi couldn't help but swallow, but instead of eating first, she held up the biggest and prettiest one and handed it to Madam Ji.
"Mommy, here you go."
Madam Ji was stunned for a moment, not expecting that Qiqi would give her the first one, and the biggest and prettiest one at that.
This child must have suffered so much in the orphanage to become so well-behaved and sensible.
Just thinking about it made Madam Ji feel extremely distressed.
With a slight stinging sensation in her nose, Madam Ji turned away to wipe her eyes. When she turned back, a gentle smile graced her face: "Mommy doesn't like sweets, Qiqi, you can have them."
Qiqi blinked and then held the small cake in front of Ji Zeqian: "Then Sixth Brother can eat it."
Ji Zeqian looked at her. The little girl's eyes were glued to the cake. She clearly wanted to eat it, but she was still willing to give it all to him. Ji Zeqian's cold heart softened a little.
He reached out and took the cake from the little girl's hand. Although there was some reluctance in her eyes, she was mostly happy.
It's clear that she genuinely wanted to give him the food.
Ji Zeqian held the cake to Qiqi's lips and gave a slight smile: "Eat."
