Chapter 291 Fifth Brother has an extra hungry ghost on him!

It must be said that Madam Ji's words completely comforted Ji Chengfeng.

Yes, Huo Yusen will have to return to Beijing sooner or later, and he will have to separate from Qiqi.

Children are forgetful; they might forget about someone in just three to five days.

It's really inappropriate for him to be anxious here right now.

Once he understood this, Ji Chengfeng felt instantly delighted.

He grinned, showing his front teeth, "My wife is so thoughtful!"

Madam Ji rolled her eyes at him, "Come to the kitchen and help me out!"

Qiqi had been unconscious for two days. When she woke up, she went to rescue Xiao Jiu without even having time to eat anything. She must be hungry now, so she's going to bake her precious daughter's favorite cookies and cakes.

Around six o'clock, the driver brought Ji Yunhan, Ji Jinyou, and Ji Zeqian back from school.

As soon as Ji Yunhan came back, he threw his schoolbag on the sofa and started yelling that he was hungry.

"Mom, is there anything to eat? I'm so hungry! I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!"

Ji Jinyou, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. The young boy quietly tugged at the bag in his schoolbag and silently walked upstairs.

Hearing the commotion downstairs, Qiqi ran out of Huo Yusen's room and leaned on the railing in the corridor to greet her brothers downstairs.

"Fourth brother, fifth brother, sixth brother, you're back! Were you tired from school?"

Given that she will soon be a student herself, she feels it is necessary to fully understand the various experiences of going to school.

"Little sister, you're awake!" Ji Yunhan, who had been slumped on the sofa, jumped up immediately when he heard his sister call him.

Ji Jinyou raised his eyes slightly, met his sister's gaze across the distance, and smiled gently at her, "It's alright, not too tiring. Fifth brother still has homework to do, so I'll go back to my room first."

After saying that, he lowered his head and silently walked upstairs.

Qiqi glanced at him and suddenly exclaimed "Eh!"

What's going on? It's only been a few days, how come Fifth Brother has a gluttonous ghost on him?

Where is the amulet she gave to her fifth brother?

Did Fifth Brother not bring it?

Mrs. Ji came out of the kitchen carrying a plate of small cakes and cookies. Seeing Ji Jinyou coming upstairs, she quickly called out to him, "Xiaoyou, have some cakes and cookies with your brother and younger siblings to tide you over. Dinner is coming soon, you can go back to your room to do your homework after dinner."

"No need, Mom, I'm not hungry." Ji Jinyou went into the room without looking back and slammed the door shut.

Madam Ji remained, her face filled with worry as she murmured, "Has Xiao You been feeling unwell lately? He hasn't been eating well these past few days. Xiao Han, have you been eating with Xiao You at school? How's his appetite at school?"

Ji Yunhan's eyes were full of longing for food. He reached out and grabbed a small cookie from the plate and stuffed it into his mouth. While eating, he mumbled, "I've been eating with friends these past two days. I haven't seen him, so I don't know."

"You child, wash your hands before you eat!" Madam Ji slapped Ji Yunhan. "You two are in the same school, how come you don't even know how to take care of your younger brother?"

"He's so grown up, why would he need me to take care of him!" Ji Yunhan said dismissively, then grabbed another cookie and popped it into his mouth before turning to wash his hands.

Mrs. Ji shook her head speechlessly, "Forget it, let's wait until the weekend and take Xiaoyou to the hospital for a check-up, just in case there's something wrong with his stomach or intestines."

Qiqi raised her little hand, "Mommy, I can help Fifth Brother watch it."

"That's great!" Madam Ji then realized that she had completely forgotten about the family's young doctor. "Then remember to take a good look at your fifth brother. He's under a lot of academic pressure right now, and he can't go without eating."

"Okay!" Qiqi filled a small plate with cakes and cookies, then ran upstairs with it, shouting, "Mommy, I'm going now!"

She had to go and see what was wrong with her fifth brother.

Besides the gluttonous ghost, there was another lingering yin energy around Fifth Brother.

Although it's not heavy and doesn't amount to much, prolonged exposure to yin energy is not good for the body.

"Slow down!" Madam Ji said worriedly as she watched her run so fast.

"I know!"

Qiqi verbally agreed obediently, but her steps were anything but slow.

He quickly climbed upstairs and knocked on Ji Jinyou's door.

Inside the room, Ji Jinyou was furtively looking at something. Upon hearing the knock on the door, he immediately stuffed what he was holding into a drawer and closed it.

Who is it?

"Fifth brother, it's me!"

Hearing that it was his little sister's voice, Ji Jinyou smiled and said, "Come in."

Qiqi pushed open the door and went in.

Ji Jinyou was opening his schoolbag and taking out his homework, placing it on his desk.

Seeing the small cakes and cookies in Qiqi's hands, he frowned almost imperceptibly, a hint of disgust flashing in his eyes.

"Little sister, what brings you here? Is something the matter?"

Qiqi walked to the desk, tiptoed, and placed the plate she was holding on the table.

"I've brought some cakes and cookies for my brother. He needs to be full so he can have the energy to concentrate on his studies."

Ji Jinyou glanced indifferently at the plate of cookies, his smile not reaching his eyes. "Thank you."

After he finished speaking, seeing that Qiqi was still standing by the desk without moving, her eyes fixed on the drawer of his desk, his expression stiffened slightly.

"Little sister, is there anything else?"

The drawer wasn't closed properly, and wisps of gloomy energy were seeping out through the open crack.

Ji Jinyou seemed afraid that Qiqi would see what was in the drawer, so he slammed the drawer shut and urged Qiqi, "If there's nothing else, little sister, you can go out now. Fifth brother has to do his homework!"

"Fifth Brother, what treasure did you hide in the drawer? Can I see it?" Qiqi tilted her head innocently.

Ji Jinyou curled his fingers around the drawer handle and shook his head. "There's nothing special, just some of Fifth Brother's study tools. You wouldn't be interested."

"But I haven't seen it, how do I know if I'm interested?" Qiqi reached out and pulled, "Fifth Brother, just let me see it once, just one look!"

Ji Jinyou instinctively tried to stop her, but he was no match for Qiqi's strength, and the little girl easily pulled open the drawer.

Inside the drawer was a black box with intricate patterns engraved on it.

It looks like it's been around for quite a while; the lid is covered in signs of weathering. I wonder where Ji Jinyou got it from.

"Fifth Brother, this box is so pretty! Where did you get it?"

Qiqi reached out and touched the box. A chilling coldness seeped into her bones from her fingertips, making her frown immediately.

This yin energy is exactly the same as the yin energy that clung to Fifth Brother.

Seeing that the little girl touched the box but nothing happened, Ji Jinyou's eyes widened in surprise.

But he quickly regained his composure, saying, "I just picked it up randomly from a jewelry store outside. If you like it, your fifth brother will buy you another one another day."

As he spoke, he was about to take the box back.
