Old Qiong took two steps, turned around, and looked at Qiqi with a hopeful look in her eyes.
"Young lady, who took the things?"
"It's the person you're thinking of!"
Qiqi can understand the feeling of not wanting to believe that the child she raised with her own hands has ultimately betrayed her.
But that's just how cruel reality is; there's nothing we can do but accept it!
Old Qiong groaned and swayed heavily.
"Elder Qiong!" Liao Gang rushed forward and helped him up, his face full of worry. "Young Master, Elder Qiong..."
"Don't worry, he just took my heart-protecting pill, he'll be fine." Qiqi said calmly.
Sure enough, Old Qiong waved his hand, signaling Liao Gang to let go of him.
Liao Gang was still a little worried.
"Don't worry, I'm fine." Old Qiong took a couple of breaths, feeling the tightness in her chest had eased considerably.
He felt like he couldn't catch his breath after hearing what Qiqi said.
Unexpectedly, at the critical moment, a warm current protected his heart meridian, cleared his breathing, and allowed him to recover.
"Young lady, your medicine is truly amazing," Old Qiong said sincerely.
Qiqi proudly raised her chin, "Of course!"
Her medicine was even better than her master's; only her thirteenth junior brother, who specialized in elixirs, was slightly better than her.
Old Master Qiong smiled. He was very happy with the young girl's personality. She was not blindly humble, but respectful yet principled and unyielding.
At such a young age, to be able to do that!
"Let's go, hurry up and take me back!" Old Qiong turned to Liao Gang and instructed him.
Regardless of whether what the little girl said was true or not, it was a matter of great importance, and he had to rush back to see for himself.
Liao Gang helped Qiong Lao out, and after a few steps, he noticed that the little girl was sitting in a chair and hadn't moved.
"Little Master, aren't you coming with us?"
"If it concerns family matters or national affairs, then I won't..."
Rumble!
Thunder rumbled outside the window again.
Qiqi's expression changed slightly, and she raised a forced smile. The refusal that was about to come out was forced back into her throat and turned into, "I won't refuse, I'll go with you to take a look."
The little girl jumped off the chair and ran to Liao Gang's side with her short legs.
Seeing that the bearded man was still standing there, he urged him, "Uncle Liao, aren't you leaving? Let's go! It'll be too late if we wait any longer!"
Old Qiong understood her implied meaning and gave Liao Gang a sharp rebuke.
"As the girl said, hurry up."
Since his former boss had said so, Liao Gang dared not delay any longer. After helping the person out, he immediately drove his car over.
After Qiong Lao and Qi Qi got into the car, he stepped on the gas and sped off.
Because of her special status, Qiong Lao's residence has always been kept secret from the outside world, and only a few insiders knew about it.
Liao Gang is one of them.
As the car entered the unassuming residential area, an inconspicuous black sedan happened to be driving out of the underground parking garage.
"Turn around, catch up with that car, quick!"
Just as Liao Gang was about to drive the car into the underground parking garage, he heard Qi Qi's little voice suddenly ring out urgently.
Without the slightest hesitation, Liao Gang executed a graceful drift, turning the car around at the entrance to the underground parking garage.
The security guard in the booth was so frightened by his extreme maneuver that he turned pale and almost opened the door to run away.
Ugh...
The Jeep roared to life and gave chase to the black sedan that had disappeared at the intersection.
The immense force of the impact slammed the elderly man and the child sitting in the back seat against the back of the chair. Old Qiong was alright, but Qi Qi was slapped so hard that she grimaced and her face was distorted.
"Slow down, be careful." The little girl's fair face was red from being slapped, and Grandma Qiong felt sorry for her.
The car in front seemed to notice that someone was chasing them, so it sped up.
Turning around had already taken up some time, and Liao Gang really didn't dare to slow down, for fear of losing the person.
But concerned for Qiqi and Elder Qiong's safety, he couldn't help but ask, "Little Master, that car..."
"There are two foreign spies sitting there, along with some things Old Man Joan left in his study." Whether or not to pursue them is up to them.
Upon hearing that there was a spy in the car, Liao Gang did not hesitate and stepped on the gas pedal to the floor.
The car shot off like an arrow.
Old Qiong hurriedly grabbed the handrail above her head and turned to remind Qiqi, only to see that Qiqi was sitting perfectly still and completely out of control.
She was caught off guard when she was slapped, and after experiencing Liao Gang's driving skills, she decisively used a Thousand-Pound Charm on herself.
With this thing around, even eight horses couldn't pull her!
"Liao Gang, what you've found is of utmost importance. You must do everything in your power to bring it back," Old Qiong instructed gravely. "The nation will remember you and reward you!"
As a police officer, it is Liao Gang's duty to safeguard national security and people's property.
He was about to say that no reward was needed, but before he could even speak, he heard a soft, sweet little voice in the carriage.
What kind of reward is there? Money?
Old Qiong was stunned for a moment, and when he realized that the little girl was actually a little money-grubber, he couldn't help but chuckle.
"It could also be money!"
Wasn't it said that the little girl's adoptive father was the richest man in Jiangcheng? Why didn't they give the little girl pocket money? That's why the little girl is so greedy.
Little did they know, Qiqi was actually a wealthy young woman; if she were to hand over all her savings, it would be enough to make a simple and honest policeman like Liao Gang burst into tears.
Upon hearing that it could be money, Qiqi's eyes lit up instantly.
He stared intently at Old Man Qiong, just like a two-thousand-watt light bulb.
"If I manage to stop the car, will the reward go to me or Uncle Liao?"
Hearing her ask that, Liao Gang knew she must have a solution, and immediately shouted from the front, "It's all on you, it's all on you! I don't want it! Little Master, what's your solution? Hurry up and use it!"
When the traffic light turned red, the car in front recklessly sped out, narrowly missing its way through a group of vehicles, causing a cacophony of horns and screeching brakes to erupt at the intersection.
Many drivers with road rage have already rolled down their windows and started swearing.
Liao Gang also tried to rush forward, but he almost collided with a white sports car that was trying to avoid the black sedan.
Fortunately, he stepped on the brakes in time, thus averting a tragedy.
But as a result, the black sedan disappeared.
That's why he yelled at Qiqi like that.
That sound almost deafened Qiqi.
She glared at Liao Gang with displeasure, then slowly took out a talisman from her Hello Kitty purse. With a few deft movements, she folded the talisman into a paper crane and blew on it.
The origami cranes suddenly came to life, flapping their wings and taking flight.
Qiqi rolled down the car window, released the paper crane, and then said to Liao Gang.
"Let's go, just follow the paper crane!"
