Chapter 136 The Soft-Hearted God

The journey took nearly twenty minutes, and many children who hadn't ridden in cars much before got carsick, but thankfully no one vomited in the end.

As soon as they got off the bus, everyone took a deep breath.

"The car smells so bad, it makes me want to throw up."

A child playfully stuck out his tongue and rolled his eyes: "I almost threw up just now, but I held it in because I had to pay for the damage to someone's car."

"Me too. I didn't know traveling by car was this uncomfortable. Wouldn't it be even more uncomfortable to travel long distances?"

"But it feels so nice to have the breeze out with the window open!"

"Yes, yes, it's so cool here!"

"When I go back later, I'll open the window to let in some fresh air. They say on TV that it's called 'going for a drive'!"

"I want one too!"

I thought they wouldn't want to continue the ride, but they became even more excited instead.

Dean Chen chuckled.

In order not to disturb others, and because there were a lot of people, Tokiyuki booked the entire self-service barbecue restaurant.

It cost twice the store's daily revenue, but it wasn't expensive.

If they have made a reservation, they can eat with them if they wish; otherwise, she will refund them at twice the original price.

Money is meant to be used for one's own convenience, and she wouldn't be stingy with this expense.

When they arrived at the store, Dean Chen thought it would be crowded during mealtime and they would have to eat in shifts, but to his surprise, there was no one inside.

Most people who made reservations agreed to cancel, since who wouldn't want to get free money?

After showing the reservation confirmation at the front desk, the staff warmly led the large group of people inside.

It would be wonderful if we could have more of these good things; it would be great if we could get paid just by serving such a small number of people.

I'm usually so busy I barely have time to breathe, but today I can relax and be so happy!

The children, who were visiting such an event for the first time, were a little reserved, but the waiters smiled gently.

"Kids, you can sit wherever you like. You can take any food around here, and there are also fruits and drinks over there. If you need anything, just call us, and the older girls can grill some meat for you."

Dean Chen also said, "Go ahead, remember to take good care of your younger siblings, help yourself to whatever you want to eat, and don't burn yourself."

After saying that, the lively child ran to the window and sat down: "This is good, I want to go here."

Everyone scattered in a rush.

Shi Xing instructed the waiter, "Please keep a close eye on things."

The waiter nodded: "Don't worry, miss, we have someone looking after each table, and there are also people in the food serving area."

Shi Xing had already spoken to the manager, and it turned out that the children who came were all children who needed extra care, but they were all very obedient and wouldn't cause any trouble.

Therefore, a waiter was assigned to look after each table.

Hearing her say that put Dean Chen at ease. Although she wanted them to be more independent, she was still worried about them.

Although they were told to sit wherever they wanted, everyone stayed close together and didn't scatter.

Fortunately, the three of them sat in the middle so they could keep an eye on the child's movements at all times.

Su Xian tugged at Shi Xing's hand under the table. Shi Xing turned to look at him, and he pursed his lips: "Did you book the whole place?"

Shi Xing grasped his hand in return and intertwined their fingers.

"Yes, that's more convenient."

He instinctively wanted to say thank you again, but for some reason he remembered what she had said and swallowed the two words that were on the tip of his tongue.

Shi Xing looked at Dean Chen across from her and asked, "Aunt Chen, would you like something else? I'll have someone bring it over."

Dean Chen shook his head and smiled gently: "There's no need for such trouble. Today I also want to try what you young people like to eat."

As she spoke, she got up to pick up some food, and Su Xian also said, "What do you want to eat? I'll get it for you."

He shook their clasped hands, signaling her to let go.

To everyone's surprise, Shi Xing not only refused to let go but also pulled him up, saying, "I'll go with you."

Su Xian was forced to go with her to Dean Chen's place. Several sharp-eyed children whispered among themselves, "Sister Xing and Brother Xian are holding hands, just like me."

Another girl, a little older, tapped her on the head: "Silly, that's called a couple. We're brothers and sisters, it's different."

They thought the two couldn't hear them, but in fact they could hear everything perfectly well.

Su Xian's ears turned slightly red, and she clenched her hands and whispered, "President Shi, let go."

Shi Xing looked at him with amusement: "You weren't like this yesterday, and why are you calling me President Shi again?"

Su Xian could feel her face and ears burning: "Luckily..."

Knowing he was shy, Shi Xing stopped teasing him and let go of his hand.

Fearing she might be upset, Su Xian quickly glanced at Dean Chen not far away and whispered, "We'll do it when we get back."

Shi Xing deliberately remained silent.

He subconsciously pursed his lips and pulled back.

Shi Xing smiled almost imperceptibly and gently tickled his palm: "Sweetie, just teasing you."

Then he went to get the groceries himself.

Su Xian breathed a sigh of relief. He himself did not realize that his compromise was not actually made because a person in a lower position was afraid of a person in a higher position.

It's simply that he doesn't want her to be unhappy, he's afraid she won't like him, and he doesn't want her to leave him because of it.

He had long harbored feelings for Tokiyuki, but Tokiyuki was an unattainable sun, a bright and beautiful moon, an existence he could only look up to but never reach.

When Shi Xing mentioned "lover relationship," besides his subconscious inner conflict, he also felt an undeniable joy and anticipation.

In the end, he abandoned his shallow and ridiculous pride and followed his heart.

When he was with Shi Xing, he was like a homeless, dirty, pitiful stray cat being taken into the protection of a kind-hearted god.

From then on, the kitten had its own place to stay.

He thought he wouldn't care even if God had other pets, after all, how could such a warm-hearted God only save one poor little thing?
