Chapter 59 You'll Always Be Mine

"Seriously, you're really getting more and more backward as you grow up. You used to only collect PUBG soldier figures, and now you're collecting Iron Man figures? And these, these... and so on."

Lena paused for a second, then immediately regained her composure and teased him with her back turned.

It's no wonder she made a joke; the things and furnishings in the room really had a boyish vibe.

Each room in the row of dormitories isn't very spacious; they're just normal four-person rooms, but they're spacious enough for one person.

The four-person room naturally had four tables. Wang Ji put two tables together and placed them on the wall above his bed. He placed a row of computers on them and fiddled with them all day long, but no one knew what he was doing.

The other two are also connected together, on the opposite wall behind the bed.

It used to be quite empty, with only some PUBG soldier figures and airdrop crate models. Lena used to arrange them haphazardly for him when she had nothing to do, but there wasn't much stuff there.

Now, there's a huge pile of Iron Man models, robot models, and Gundam models on the table.

There were fifty or sixty of them in total, each about the size of a palm, filling the two tables completely. They were all made of pure alloy and were quite heavy.

I have no idea how those two tables were supported, or how this guy suddenly got so many figurines.

The strangest thing was something that looked like a row of rockets, like a box filled with tiny metal crayons.

Lena looked at the bronze alloy box, which had 5x10 small holes and was filled with fifty tiny metal crayons.

The box was only slightly larger than the back of her hand and about the width of a fist... Even with Lena's knowledge and understanding of Earth's culture, she couldn't tell what it was.

There are some kind of clips or buckles on the side of the box, as if it's being assembled somewhere.

Even after tilting it, the small metal crayon didn't fall out; it was packed quite securely.

Wang Ji had about a dozen of these boxes on his desk; I really don't know what they were for.

"What's this called?" Lena asked Wang Ji curiously, shaking the metal box.

"Ex-girlfriend".

Wang Ji watched her quietly as she fiddled with her treasures, showing none of the possessive behavior typical of figure enthusiasts. After answering her question, he reached out and took a gold and red Iron Man figure, playing with it in his hand.

"Wow, what a weird name!" Lena was a little confused. "You have an ex-girlfriend? Is she a keepsake? There's a story behind it."

"No." Wang Ji, fiddling with his Iron Man figurine, glanced up and replied.

"Didn't they choose such a strange name?"

"Hmm... it's just a rather fierce description." Wang Ji thought for a moment and replied, "Anyway, I don't know what this thing should be called, I just made it up."

"Oh~"

Lena nodded as if she understood, and casually put Wang Ji's 'ex-girlfriend' back. It's normal that girls can't understand why boys like some strange things.

"You do your thing, don't worry about me. I'm just bored, I'm bored no matter where I am, don't let me interfere with your work." She felt Wang Ji's gaze, mainly because he had stopped what he was doing.

She knew to some extent that Wang Ji was always busy, either researching something or writing some program. Although she didn't know what the purpose was, he was indeed quite busy.

"It's nothing, just a short rest," he said nonchalantly.

"However, I think we need to have a serious talk," he said earnestly, looking at her retreating figure.

As soon as she finished speaking, her back stiffened, but she quickly returned to normal.

"What's there to talk about..." She was still leaning on the table with her face turned to the side, playing with a Gundam figure in her hand, looking extremely bored: "I've taken a liking to you, but you haven't given me a chance, and I'm not reconciled."

We haven't known each other for very long, and if I told you how much I like you and what I like about you, you probably wouldn't believe me... But it doesn't matter, I know it myself.

The afternoon sun seemed unchanging, peaceful and serene, with the hypnotic chirping of insects drifting from the distant woods.

The days of youth are like notes dancing gracefully on a string. In Wang Ji's more than ten years of memories, apart from the days when his parents were still alive, this past month or so should be the most relaxing time for him.

Morning, noon, dusk, starry night.

Although he's busy, he no longer has to restrain himself like before. In his spare time, he can do what he likes, without caring about other people's opinions or worrying about this or that.

He also found a warm and sweet girl, and a group of comrades-in-arms to fight alongside him.

Truly beautiful things began to appear in his life, beautiful things that belonged to him, like colorful and clear crystals, allowing him to see the colors that should exist beyond solitude.

He wanted to have a serious talk with a beautiful girl about their relationship, but before he could even open his mouth, he was rendered speechless.

"I know what you modern Earthlings are thinking, and I didn't say anything about fighting or stealing... You can have your own crushes, and I'll just like mine~"

Is it wrong to like someone?

When I'm bored, I'll chat with you and sit here for a while... Look, I've left your door open too.

"You're not isolating yourself from the world just because you're in a relationship. Why can't I even have a chat with you?"

She lay there, only her youthful and beautiful back visible. Her voice was calm but occasionally rose slightly. Perhaps only the few uncontrollable groans at the end of each sentence revealed her usually generous and flamboyant personality.
