Chapter 47 Madam, don't cry, don't be afraid, I'm here.

Shang Yanxing was unbuttoning his clothes, and his movements were slow, probably because of the injury on his back.

Seeing Shang Yanxing's expression, Jiang Susu offered, "Let me help you."

Shang Yanxing stopped what he was doing. "Then thank you, Madam."

Jiang Susu reached out to unbutton his shirt, complaining, "You always have to thank me for everything. Why are you being so formal with me? I wasn't that polite with you when you protected me."

She didn't know why this man was so polite to her, yet so kind to her.

He was clearly a businessman, yet he willingly suffered losses at her hands.

How could this man be so stupid?

"Then I won't be so polite with you, Madam, from now on."

Jiang Susu unbuttoned Shang Yanxing's clothes, revealing the wound on his back.

Jiang Susu stood behind Shang Yanxing, and the bluish-red wound was revealed to her.

The back was covered in shocking, swollen welts from being hit with a ruler, some of which were even bleeding.

She knew that being hit with the ruler hurt; she had only been hit once, but it still stung.

Seeing the shocking scars on Shang Yanxing's back, she couldn't stop her tears from falling.

Jiang Susu covered her mouth, trying her best not to cry out loud.

Shang Yanxing seemed to have heard Jiang Susu crying, so he turned around.

Shang Yanxing looked at Jiang Susu and felt a pang of heartache when he saw her crying. "Why is Madam crying?"

Jiang Susu looked at Shang Yanxing with red eyes, "Does it hurt a lot?" It was because she hadn't stopped Xie Wanjun in time.

Although Shang Yanxing's face was pale, he still managed a smile and comforted Jiang Susu, "I'm fine, Madam, don't cry."

She was already feeling down, and Shang Yanxing's words of comfort only made her feel worse.

Tears welled up in her eyes and fell incessantly, like pearls from a broken string.

"Why is Madam crying even harder? Did I say something wrong again?"

Shang Yanxing reached out and wiped away Jiang Susu's tears.

"How could you be so stupid? Don't you know how to lie? Why do you have to admit it?" If he had told a lie, he might not have been punished like this.

Shang Yanxing smiled and said jokingly, "I didn't think straight at the time and blurted it out in one breath. I was afraid that if I really lied, it would be troublesome to deal with the consequences. It's fine if I am punished alone, but it would be bad if I implicated Madam. It's just a little scratch, Madam doesn't need to worry so much."

Jiang Susu wiped away her tears, unsure of what to say.

Why is this man always thinking about her? Is he just selfish and only thinking of himself?

Why am I always so silly?

She took out the medicine from the medicine box and prepared to apply it to Shang Yanxing.

"Let me apply the medicine for you, otherwise it will be bad if you get an infection later."

Shang Yanxing nodded and replied, "Okay, thank you, Madam."

Jiang Susu felt a little helpless; he seemed genuinely afraid of owing her something.

Jiang Susu took out the iodine solution, dipped a cotton swab in it, and applied it to the wound.

Jiang Susu was very careful with the wounds, afraid of hurting him.

Jiang Susu wiped her wound, and Shang Yanxing hissed.

Jiang Susu immediately withdrew her hand. "I'm sorry, does it hurt a lot? I... I'll be gentler."

"It's alright, Madam, there's no need to be afraid."

Jiang Susu carefully applied the medicine to Shang Yanxing.

She applied the medicine very slowly, taking half an hour to finish.

As Jiang Susu packed her medicine kit, she said, "You need to rest these next few days and don't overwork yourself. Let's put work aside for now."

Shang Yanxing's gaze remained fixed on Jiang Susu, never leaving her.

"Is Madam concerned about me?" It was rare to hear this young woman show him such concern.

Jiang Susu looked at Shang Yanxing, feeling a little annoyed. Seeing him injured, she couldn't bear to blame him, and simply replied, "Yes, I'm concerned about you, so you need to take good care of yourself."

Shang Yanxing nodded and smiled. The smile was natural, and it was clear that he was genuinely happy.

Seeing Jiang Susu preparing to leave, Shang Yanxing looked somewhat disappointed. "Madam may not have to fulfill the contract anymore."

This matter has been discovered, so there's no need for them to continue this charade.

Hearing Shang Yanxing's words, Jiang Susu was stunned for a moment, "Then... will you still be forced to marry someone else?"

Shang Yanxing married her to avoid blind dates.

"Maybe, but there's no way to hide it anymore, is there?"

Seeing that Jiang Susu looked worried, Shang Yanxing said, "Don't worry, Madam. This matter does not count as a breach of contract, so there is no need to pay any penalty."

Jiang Susu stared at Shang Yanxing, eager to know what was going on in this man's mind.

Why is Shang Yanxing still so considerate of her even at a time like this?

"So what do you plan to do? Marry someone you don't like?"

Shang Yanxing lowered his head, seemingly somewhat helpless. "If it has to be this way, there's nothing I can do. After all, the matter has already been exposed, and there's no way to keep it a secret any longer."

Jiang Susu bit her lip. "If I tell Mom that I've fallen for you, will you no longer need to go on blind dates?"

This man used to treat her so well; she couldn't bear to see him in such a predicament.

Shang Yanxing was somewhat surprised. "Does Madam mean to continue keeping it from them?"

Just as Jiang Susu was about to nod, she heard Shang Yanxing mutter to himself, "Let's forget it. What if we get caught again? Besides, I'm too embarrassed to keep Madam waiting like this."

"I don't mind, since I don't have anyone I like right now. If you don't mind, we can still be like before."

For some reason, she seemed to miss her old relationship with Shang Yanxing.

Shang Yanxing was still somewhat hesitant. "Won't this really trouble Madam? I'm afraid I might ruin Madam's life's most important matter. Besides, doesn't Madam like Shen Shiyan? Don't you two plan to reconcile?"

Although Jiang Susu said she didn't like Shen Shiyan anymore, he still had some doubts.

After six years of relationship, it's impossible to say that I don't like you at all now.

“I stopped liking Shen Shiyan a long time ago. My feelings for him are a thing of the past. I’m single now and don’t have anyone I like, so I can help you with this.”

Jiang Susu looked at Shang Yanxing, somewhat expectant of his answer.

Shang Yanxing opened his mouth, but then said, "Forget it, even if I tell Mom, she probably won't believe me."
