Luo Chen and Lao Tie ran while providing cover for each other, and the two quickly shook off the pursuit of the black-clad mercenaries.
"Catch up, catch up quickly!" the one-eyed man roared, his face filled with rage, quickly expressing his current mood.
Unexpectedly, they suffered a loss at this moment, facing only two people.
Letting a dozen or so people suffer losses is not something that can be resolved by making excuses.
While running at high speed, Luo Chen took a moment to change the magazine; this was the last magazine.
If they cannot completely shake off the black-clad mercenaries behind them, they are likely to run out of ammunition and supplies.
By then, it will all be in vain. Luo Chen might be able to escape with his own strength, but what about Lao Tie?
"Oh right, where's Lao Tie?" Luo Chen ran as fast as he could, completely forgetting about Lao Tie behind him. In his subconscious, Lao Tie should be able to catch up with him quickly.
Luo Chen turned around and saw Lao Tie lying behind a small tree, about the thickness of an adult's thigh.
"Old man, you're just tired. If you want to rest, you should find a good spot. Staying here is just asking for death, isn't it?" Luo Chen said to Lao Tie again with his sarcastic remark.
But his body quickly rushed towards Lao Tie.
He then aimed his gun at the back. Although he said that, Luo Chen knew that Lao Tie was already very tired from fighting all night, so he tried to buy him some time.
"Old man, get some rest. I'll buy you some time," Luo Chen shouted, staring behind him.
Old Tie's face was a little pale. He lay on the small tree, his head covered in cold sweat.
"Hey bro, can't you even talk?" Luo Chen cursed under his breath when his bro didn't reply.
Immediately, he dodged and rolled quickly to the left front, then pulled the trigger in an instant.
With a bang.
Gunshots rang out, and men fell!
"Hmph, is that all?" Luo Chen scoffed, as the enemy's numbers had dwindled to single digits.
Right now, if we just hold on a little longer, we can get rid of it completely.
If he had enough firepower, Luo Chen was confident he could take down everyone on the other side, except for that Grandmaster, of course.
After all, dealing with a grandmaster is quite troublesome.
Luo Chen sheathed his spear, and with a flash, returned behind the tree.
He immediately set up his gun and stared at the rear.
"Old man, it's been a few minutes. How am I supposed to handle this all by myself? I'm really suffering without you," Luo Chen teased.
And you know what? Having a close friend around, you can banter and at least you don't have to be constantly on edge worrying about enemies behind you.
"Hey, you're pretending to be aloof, aren't you?" Luo Chen glanced at him, his eyes quickly shifting to Lao Tie.
With just that one glance, Luo Chen finally noticed Lao Tie's condition.
"Old man, what's wrong with you? You don't have some kind of illness, do you? Why didn't you say so earlier?"
At this moment, Luo Chen was still wondering if Lao Tie was getting old, which caused some kind of injury or illness to relapse after a day and a night.
"Cough, you, you brat, you can't expect anything good to come out of your dog's mouth." Old Tie shouted at Luo Chen, panting heavily, beads of cold sweat dripping from his forehead.
His face was even paler and lifeless, and he spoke in a weak and listless manner.
"Kid, I can't go on, you should leave now?" Old Tie suddenly blurted out.
"What?" Luo Chen, who was keeping a close watch on his back with his gun at the ready, was startled when he heard Lao Tie's words. He looked down and saw a pool of blood on Lao Tie's hand.
"What happened? You got shot? You old bastard, why didn't you say so sooner?" Luo Chen stared at Lao Tie's hand, looking somewhat at a loss. This was the first time he had encountered such a situation.
Luo Chen immediately placed it at his feet and helped Lao Tie up.
"Hmm?" When Luo Chen reached out his hand to Lao Tie's back, he suddenly felt something wet. He withdrew his hand and looked at it.
His hands were covered in blood, and Luo Chen's eyes widened.
"Hehe, I must have been hit by shrapnel when the bomb exploded. I didn't feel anything at the time, but I only realized it now." Old Tie grinned, revealing his teeth, which had turned yellowish from years of smoking.
Luo Chen's heart sank to the bottom. He hurriedly searched his body, then tore open his outer uniform and forcefully ripped open his undershirt.
"Old bastard, I told you to leave, but you're a stubborn mule, a damn stubborn old mule." Luo Chen's voice trembled slightly as he glanced behind him; there was still some distance to go.
He quickly tied the torn-off T-shirt to Lao Tie's back.
The gunshots were getting closer and closer.
"Kid, hurry up and go. Taking me with you is useless. You're the regiment's precious darling...you..."
"Enough." Luo Chen snorted coldly. Suddenly, Luo Chen's head tilted to the side, and a bullet grazed his left cheek.
"It's him!" This familiar feeling made Luo Chen realize that it was the sniper from last night.
Unexpectedly, he appeared at this moment, making the situation even worse.
Luo Chen quickly hid behind a tree, fell to the ground, and fired wildly behind him.
"Old man, shut up. I won't let you die, I won't." Luo Chen fired a series of shots, the bullets flying out of the gun rapidly.
Instantly, the black-clad mercenaries who had rushed forward were pushed back.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Luo Chen slung his old friend over his shoulder.
His figure swayed in an S-shape as he ran forward.
As he passed a tree, a bullet whizzed through the air and pierced the trunk.
Just as his heel left the ground, a bullet struck the soil where he had been standing.
"Kid, I really can't go on anymore. Don't waste your energy. There's a sniper on the other side. Carrying me on your back is just a waste of your energy." Lao Tie's weak voice sounded behind Luo Chen's head.
Luo Chen's eyes were red, and he ran forward as fast as he could.
Since arriving in this world, Lao Tie was the first person to joke and chat with Luo Chen.
Even when they first met, Lao Tie treated Luo Chen like a treasure.
Even knowing that this dream is fake, even knowing that the people in this world are just NPCs.
However, Luo Chen still didn't want his old friend to disappear from this world.
"Stop talking, stop talking, old man, can you please shut up?" Luo Chen's face flushed red, his eyes seemingly overflowing with some kind of liquid.
He now has only one thought: to survive and to save Lao Tie's life.
"Kid, you're pretty good. I was so happy when the leader told me about you. I finally know that our Iron Wolf Mercenary Group has someone this good."
"Kid, cough cough, Iron Wolf is in your hands from now on. Oh, and if I die, you better keep an eye on the commander. I'm afraid he'll be crying under the covers in the middle of the night, haha cough cough."
The dense gunfire seemed to have been suddenly silenced, while the sounds around Luo Chen seemed to have been amplified.
"Old man, if you live on, I'll buy you the best cigars when I get back, and take you to see the prettiest girls dancing in bars. It'll be on me, okay?"
Bang!
A gunshot rang out.
puff!
A mouthful of bright red blood instantly covered Luo Chen's entire left cheek.
The warm liquid quickly solidified Luo Chen's body!
Luo Chen leaped and disappeared into the jungle. He put Lao Tie down, a bullet piercing his back through his heart, blood continuously spilling from the corner of his mouth.
"Old... Old..." Luo Chen's throat seemed to be blocked, and he couldn't utter a complete sentence.
