Chapter 548 The Intricacies of Two Easterners!

"Lina, take a screenshot of this scene and come with me," Wu Hao said to Lina, then walked outside.

When he stepped out of the basement, he felt a strange sense of confidence, as if he had caught someone red-handed.

"This time, you'll finally pay a price." Wu Hao's lips unconsciously curled into a smile.

After returning to the villa, Wu Hao instructed his subordinates, "Go and arrange a dinner party."

Lina turned her head and frowned, somewhat puzzled: "Why do we have to treat them to food? There are so many of them."

Wu Hao stroked Lina's head and said with a faint smile, "There's an old saying in the East: 'You can't catch a wolf without risking your cub.' Sometimes you have to be decisive when it's time to act. Whether they eat or not isn't the point; the point is to prevent them from leaving, understand?"

Lina shook her head, indicating that she didn't understand at all: "But there's so much delicious food, so I want to eat it too."

Wu Hao rolled his eyes. This woman had one bad point: she was possessive of her food. But that was fine too, since she liked to eat the protein that was good for his body. On that point, Wu Hao felt it was acceptable.

"Eat, of course you can eat."

Around 6 p.m., several mercenaries appeared outside Luo Chen's villa.

"Brother Xiao, Wu Hao has sent men." The mercenary walked in and said to Luo Chen.

Luo Chen lay on the sofa for several hours, then suddenly sat up, puzzled, and asked, "What's he doing? What's he doing here if there's nothing wrong?"

Mike glanced at him, his expression wary, his face clearly indicating that Wu Hao must be up to no good to do this.

"I don't know. I asked him, but he didn't say. He just called your name and told you to leave," the mercenary replied, shaking his head.

Luo Chen glanced at Mike, then got up and walked out of the villa.

Standing outside were the two mercenaries with machine guns that Luo Chen had seen earlier at the entrance of Wu Hao's villa.

"You need something?" Luo Chen asked curiously, looking for him in a hurry.

But then I thought, maybe Wu Hao had already figured out that he was the leader of this team.

"Our boss said he's hosting a banquet tonight and would like to invite you all. It'll be at his villa at 9 p.m.

"A banquet?" Luo Chen felt more and more that Wu Hao was up to something. They weren't that close, so why would he host a banquet for him?

There's either a trap or something fishy going on here.

As the saying goes, "Those who offer unsolicited kindness are either up to no good or are thieves."

"Our boss also told you not to worry, he has no reason to harm you." The mercenary finished speaking and turned to leave.

Luo Chen was rather bewildered; those words were damn blunt.

Telling you directly that I have no feelings for you would actually make Luo Chen seem a bit petty.

"Okay, I understand." Luo Chen shouted to the mercenary again, then turned around and went back.

"What's going on?" As soon as they entered the door, Mike and Number Five looked at Luo Chen with anxious expressions.

Luo Chen waved his hand and said, "It's nothing, they just invited us over for dinner."

"There's definitely something fishy going on here."

"We don't seem to know Wu Hao very well, so why are they hosting a banquet for us?"

Luo Chen plopped down on the sofa, resting his hand on it, and said, "That person said Wu Hao said not to worry, there's no need to take action against us."

Now it was Mike and Number Five's turn to be puzzled: who exactly was this Wu Hao?

"Don't even think about it. If they invite me, I'll just go. Why not take advantage of the free meal?" Luo Chen said nonchalantly, lying on the sofa.

Mike and Number Five looked at each other.

"Aren't you worried that he might attack us while we're eating?"

"Fight my ass. Who would talk to you like that if they wanted to fight? Besides, I think Wu Hao really loves money more than anything. He'll do anything for money. If he wanted to fight, he wouldn't have waited until now."

"Of course, I'm not being presumptuous. We'll just send a few of us. As for the others, we can leave them here. If anything happens, we'll have a chance to help them out."

"Really?" Number Five was still a little worried; he had never played like this before.

"From now on, read more about Eastern history. What we call the Feast at Hongmen is a trap." Luo Chen smiled lightly, then turned to the mercenary and said, "Go find some explosives. I'm going to take a shower first. Tie them to your body later."

"Hahaha, so this was your plan all along, brilliant!" Mike laughed as he listened to Luo Chen's instructions, then gave a thumbs up.

It was exactly 7 p.m.

Luo Chen appeared at the entrance of Wu Hao's villa with Number Five and Mike.

As soon as I walked in, I saw Wu Hao standing at the door waiting, with a foreign girl with golden wavy hair next to him.

[She's really good-looking!]

Luo Chen thought to himself, "This isn't about being fickle; it's simply a man's admiration for anything beautiful."

"Commander Wu, thank you for your hospitality." Luo Chen stepped forward and extended his hand to greet Wu Hao.

Wu Hao also reached out and responded, "I was worried you wouldn't come. I specially prepared this banquet today because I wanted to make friends from all walks of life. This is just my style."

"Not at all, I like people like Commander Wu, generous and polite. It's a pity I wasn't prepared at all." Luo Chen seemed unrestrained, spreading his hands and laughing.

"Haha, it's my good fortune that you're here. Saying those things is just being too polite." Wu Hao turned and walked inside.

Mike and Number Five were left in shock, having witnessed firsthand what politeness from the East truly meant.

The moment Luo Chen entered the room, a beeping electronic sound rang out.

Luo Chen looked at Wu Hao with feigned confusion.

"Haha, Brother Xiao, please understand. This is for safety reasons, but you don't need to worry about it." Wu Hao laughed it off.

Luo Chen shook his head: "No, the rules still need to be followed. Carrying a gun is ultimately inappropriate."

He pointed at Mike and the other man, took the pistol off his body, and then unbuttoned his shirt.

Pointing to the explosive charge on it, he smiled at Wu Hao and said, "Commander Wu, I have a little habit of carrying this explosive charge on my body. You don't mind, do you?"

Wu Hao's lips twitched, and he looked at Luo Chen as if he were looking at an alien.

Where did this weirdo come from?

"Be cautious, Brother Xiao, be cautious. It's alright, it's alright, I understand." Wu Hao's expression was almost unable to contain himself; he really hadn't expected Luo Chen to come to such a place.

If I were to accidentally get surrounded by people, it would truly be a banquet at Xitian Baijiu.

"Xiao is awesome!" Mike whispered to Number Five, referring to an Eastern term he had recently learned from Luo Chen.

He always felt that only this word could express Luo Chen's prowess.

Having done missions for so many years, this is the first time I've seen two Asians who are both domineering and polite.

Sufficient firepower is indeed the key to suppressing all conspiracies.

Luo Chen's current behavior perfectly illustrates this statement.
