Chapter 472 That Unparalleled Peak!

As Jiang Tao listened to Luo Chen shamelessly spouting nonsense about cats being able to do backflips, his nostrils flared more and more violently.

"Do you think I can beat you into a cat?"

Luo Chen met the gaze, scratched his head, and thought to himself, "This isn't my territory, so I have to just bear with it."

What's more, he's Jiang Xian'er's father. If he angers Jiang Tao and he stops him from seeing Jiang Xian'er again, then he'll never be able to complete his mission.

Leader Jiang, you wouldn't want the fact that I played with your daughter's feet to be made public, would you?

"Nonsense! Where did this cat come from?" Jiang Tao roared in fury.

"Don't run around like that in the future. There are a lot of outsiders in town now, so you must not associate with those glib-tongued people," Jiang Tao said with a smile, looking at Jiang Xian'er.

The meaning is quite obvious; it's clearly saying that Luo Chen is a smooth talker!

Luo Chen couldn't argue back. Who would dare to act like that in front of their father-in-law? Even if it were the King of Heaven himself, they would still have to be polite.

"Father, don't say that. Actually, he's a good person, and he even told me a lot of stories." Jiang Xian'er's sweet smile instantly blossomed as she said to Jiang Tao in a coquettish tone.

Luo Chen felt a pang of pain in his heart. "Grandma, please stop talking. If you keep going, your father will tear me to pieces, and that will be the least of your worries."

Sure enough, Jiang Tao's expression changed again. In just a few days, his precious daughter had been bewitched by this lecherous man.

She actually argued with his father over a man.

"Alright, go home. If I say one more word, you're not allowed to leave the house again." Jiang Tao didn't tolerate it and scolded Jiang Xian'er.

Jiang Xian'er was startled by her father's sudden sternness, and she shrank back with her head down, looking at the ground with a wronged expression.

"Old buddy, still so hot-tempered. You're practically halfway to the grave, why are you meddling so much in this kid's business?" The regimental commander slowly stood up and looked at Jiang Tao.

The two men have a good understanding of the different situations that come with being fathers. Although Luo Chen is not the commander's son, at this point, they are not far apart.

Indeed, fathers with daughters and fathers with sons can never understand each other.

"Who are you?" Jiang Tao stared at the strangely dressed man, who looked like a wandering swordsman.

"I don't even recognize you anymore. Back then, when you sneaked into the widow's house, who kept watch for you?" The regimental commander took off his glasses and shouted at Jiang Tao.

Jiang Tao was stunned for a moment, stared at the regimental commander for a few seconds, and then suddenly burst into laughter: "So it's Gouwazi, I didn't expect it to really be you."

"Hahaha, long time no see, you've done well, kid." The regimental commander grinned and opened his arms.

Jiang Tao also let go of Jiang Xian'er, and the two hugged each other tightly.

"It's been so many years since we last met. I never thought I'd see you again. I thought you were dead," Jiang Tao said, giving the group leader a bear hug and laughing.

The commander's smile was similarly tinged with sadness.

"I'm so lucky and have such a long life, how could I possibly die?"

Jiang Xian'er and Luo Chen exchanged a glance, both able to see the other's confusion.

Why did the two of them suddenly start hugging?

Could it be? Luo Chen thought of something indescribable: could the two of them have a gun-related relationship?

"So you're a mercenary group leader now? You're doing pretty well, you son of a bitch." Jiang Tao punched the leader and shouted.

The leader retorted with a punch: "Of course! I said back then that I was going to make a name for myself, but who knew you'd do even better than me."

Jiang Tao burst into laughter.

Jiang Xian'er was completely bewildered; her father had never spoken such rude words to her in all these years.

I never expected to witness this firsthand today.

"Father?" Jiang Xian'er called out.

Jiang Tao realized what was happening and said to Jiang Xian'er, "We were from the same village back then. We went to the battlefield together and then we were separated. I never thought that after so many years, we would meet again."

The regimental commander looked at Jiang Xian'er and smiled faintly. More than twenty years of memories were condensed into a few words at this moment.

Perhaps this is friendship, or brotherhood.

When old friends who haven't seen each other for many years suddenly meet, instead of being polite and courteous, they call each other by their nicknames.

When the nickname was shouted out, the light and shadow that had been separated for decades returned in an instant.

"I definitely have to have a drink with you later, don't leave," Jiang Tao said, pointing at the team leader.

Nobody cares about your status, nor does anyone want to let status create barriers in our relationship. Perhaps a few drinks can help us travel back in time.

"Of course, now that I'm rich, I won't leave unless I get a meal out of you."

"It seems like only the two of us are left of our comrades from back then." A trace of sadness appeared on Jiang Tao's face.

The same goes for the regimental commander. After all, the friendship they forged through life and death together back then has now been reduced to just the two of them.

"What a coincidence. If it weren't for this kid, I wouldn't have known that you were the mayor of Hope Town," the regimental commander said, clinging to Luo Chen.

Jiang Tao looked up and asked in confusion, "This?"

"This kid is from my unit. Don't underestimate him just because he's young. He's incredibly capable, even more so than you and I were back in our day." The unit leader's eyes gleamed as if he were praising his own son.

Luo Chen smiled awkwardly; this was a good opportunity to get closer to her.

"Hello Mayor Jiang, there was some misunderstanding before, it was all a misunderstanding."

Perhaps because of the group leader, Jiang Tao's hostility towards Luo Chen lessened considerably.

After all, those who are favored by their old comrades-in-arms are generally of similar character.

He was still unaware that Luo Chen had tickled Jiang Xian'er's toes, and that Luo Chen had barely escaped with his life.

"Come on, come on, it's still early, let's go for a drink." The leader laughed and put his hand on Jiang Tao's shoulder, shouting loudly.

Jiang Xian'er and Luo Chen followed behind, exchanging winks and glances.

"Tell me quickly, what exactly do you want to do? I will definitely help you." Luo Chen pressed on relentlessly. He finally understood how stifling the lives of those sycophants were.

"Didn't I tell you before? I want to be a doctor or a nurse." Jiang Xian'er raised an eyebrow and puffed out her proudly ample figure.

"Tsk tsk tsk..." Luo Chen's eyes were unconsciously drawn to it.

Luo Chen didn't hear Jiang Xian'er's words clearly, but he could see the mountains in front of him very clearly.

This is much more exciting than an airport.

Jiang Xian'er didn't think too much about it. She just looked down at her proud and prominent figure and deliberately straightened it even more.

"Holy crap." Luo Chen quickly looked up, feeling extremely anxious.

I almost got a nosebleed.

If my fellow readers saw this, they'd probably kill me for being so naive.

Who doesn't know that my book lovers are all great figures who have crossed peaks and traversed valleys!
