Chapter 105: The Two Who Reached a Cooperation Agreement
Finally, having found nothing, Inspector Megure could only lead his men back to the station to test the evidence. Once the results came out, they would be able to determine who the murderer was.
The chubby inspector planned to leave one person here to prevent the real culprit from destroying evidence while the police were away.
He glanced at his subordinates, and was just about to call one out when he saw Matsuda Jinpei, who had just joined them, step forward.
So Matsuda Jinpei stayed behind as a police officer, determined to find evidence that could prove the monster was a monster!
Then he ran into his old classmates.
While Inspector Megure was questioning the Whiskey Trio, Matsuda was downstairs watching the monster. After the questioning, the three of them went back to their room. At that time, Matsuda went to the basement, perfectly avoiding his old classmates.
The police officer, currently under the First Investigation Division, looked at his two drastically changed colleagues and the long-haired, black-haired man with them who didn't seem like a good person.
He simply nodded at the three of them as if they were ordinary citizens, treating them as if they were complete strangers.
The two people he treated as strangers had the same attitude, and they parted ways and went in different directions.
Just as Detective Matsuda was racking his brains trying to find evidence of the monster's murders legally, the Whiskey Trio didn't care about anything else. Regardless of their original identities, they were now outlaws.
Tonight, the three of them will split up to investigate what the organization has asked them to find out.
This is why Shuichi Akai was squeezed under the bed. Based on their observations over the past few days, the most suspicious person here is Isabella. Although she is married, she still lives alone, and her husband never spends the night with her.
A single woman, whose dog was nowhere to be seen today, decided to make her move tonight because of the lack of a potential source of barking noise.
The door opened, and unlike usual, Isabella returned with her husband.
Hiding under the bed and breathing softly, Shuichi Akai's brows furrowed as he watched. Unlike the past few days, her husband's movements were somewhat stiff today, and due to his hiding position, he could only see their legs and below.
For this reason, he noticed a detail he would never normally notice: the man's leg, which should have been straight, was slightly deformed above the ankle, looking as if a small section of bone had broken off and was sticking out.
However, the man still maintained a somewhat stiff but still normal movement. Even with the injection of strong painkillers, it is impossible for a human to completely ignore physical damage, let alone a broken bone.
Isabella did not come in like her husband. Instead, she locked the door and then visibly relaxed, as if she had completed her task.
Then Shuichi Akai witnessed a scene he would never forget—
"Okay, you can take your clothes off now." She said as she walked towards her husband.
The FBI agents under the bed, thinking they might have arrived at the wrong time, saw that her husband was actually naked—physically naked!
A series of cracking sounds and sticky smacking sounds of bones and flesh rubbing together rang out. Soon, the person standing there was no longer the black-haired man they knew, but a tall monster covered in scarlet blood.
His pupils dilated in shock. What was this?!
Isabella, as the wife, showed no fear whatsoever. On the contrary, as if she had expected it, she caught the "clothes" perfectly as the scarlet humanoid figure squeezed out of her husband's skin and collapsed.
After catching her husband's body, she briefly checked it over and, whether with a sigh or a compliment, said, "The skin wasn't torn; he can still wear it tomorrow."
The tall, skinless, blood-red monster, just like it had been "taking off its clothes" these past few days, reverted to its first form on its own. It was because of this that the supervisor had not suspected it.
After all, who would suspect that the little dog who sits there as soon as he opens his eyes every day would sneak out in the middle of the night and dress up haphazardly?
Because of his rapid shrinkage in height, the supervisor's lackey happened to see the person squeezed under the bed. He was originally sticking out his tongue and indulging in the supervisor's praise. He didn't care, it was still praise!
Then he met a pair of dark green eyes; someone had invaded his territory!
The gaze that had been fixed with one eye on guard duty and the other on watch suddenly sharpened, and all four eyes looked over at once, their eyes filled with hostility.
Shuichi Akai finally saw the true face of the puppy that Isabella had been holding every day. The puppy that they thought was snow-white and cute had actually grown into this horrible thing!
X was unaware of what was happening behind him. He was contemplating where to put Matsuda Jinpei's body. He would have nothing tomorrow and would still have to continue taking over the account. He couldn't let anyone discover that this body was actually a corpse.
He repaired the damaged parts on the spot, forcibly making it look like a normal person, then put this "clothes" with no future into the wardrobe, finally arranging it at an angle where it wouldn't fall out.
Completely unaware that there were other people in the room besides himself and the penniless X happily closed the wardrobe door. The moment the door closed, a loud sound came from behind him.
With nothing at all, he used the human hand on his head to launch a scratching attack on Shuichi Akai, who had illegally invaded his territory!
Shuichi Akai nimbly rolled backward, emerging directly from under the bed, precisely dodging the attack from the claws on the blue human hand.
However, the bed that was his hiding place could not escape it. The huge sound that X heard also came from it. The poor thing was smashed to pieces by the claw of Nothingness, and pieces of planks, cloth and stuffing were scattered all over the ground.
X looked at his bed, which had suddenly turned into a compressed file, and used the "Nothing to My Name" decompression software to extract a person from it with a single claw.
Shuichi Akai only managed to dodge the attack by following his instincts. Luckily, the gap under the bed was big enough, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to roll over.
This dog-like monster is incredibly strong. If that blow that hit the bed had landed on him, he would have been half-dead, if not killed.
"Let's stop for a moment."
The woman who colluded with the monster spoke, and the monster, as if born from the hands of a mad researcher, stopped, though its four eyes remained fixed on him.
"Mr. Moroboshi, could you explain why you are here?" Her tone was flat, not at all like someone had witnessed a shocking secret.
Instead of answering X's question, Shuichi Akai asked him, "Does your husband know you're raising monsters, or is he still alive?"
Bang!
A second loud noise came from behind X; the door he had locked had been violently broken open from the outside.
"Manager, are you alright?!"
Adam and Cabbage lived next door and clearly heard the loud noise. They also found that the door was locked. So, Cabbage, whose small body contained great energy, used his physical abilities as the God of War of the Darkness to kick the door open.
At this point, he didn't care about the script anymore, and Adam followed slowly behind him.
What they found was a bed reduced to pieces, a somewhat disheveled Shuichi Akai, and someone who was inexplicably angry and had nothing left.
Very well, I'm surrounded.
Shuichi Akai had no idea that the seemingly sickly Mr. Linton could kick the door open, not to mention that he was carrying a greatsword with an extremely wide blade.
Now the dog was no longer as aggressive as before. When it saw the newly appeared Adam, it happily went over and rubbed against him in a sticky, affectionate way.
Looking at Mr. Linton, who had switched places with the monster, Shuichi Akai felt that if he revealed his true purpose, he would be chopped into mincemeat by the giant sword in his hand and fed to the dog in no time.
"What are you doing?" Shuichi Akai's savior appeared.
The policeman who was left behind came after hearing the sound, but because of the distance, he was a step late.
Then he saw the man surrounded by three people and a dog. "Mr. Moroboshi, what are you doing here?" the savior asked with a frown.
He looked around as if he were looking for someone, but there was no sign of the monster that looked just like him. He wondered where it had gone.
"And you, Mr. Linton, what are you planning to do with that dangerous weapon?"
“Officer Matsuda, my brother was only trying to protect me,” X said.
"I'll keep an eye on him until Inspector Megure's test results come out," Matsuda Jinpei said to X and the others, looking at the long-haired man who seemed to be courting death, before leading him out.
As they headed to the room next to the basement, Shuichi Akai whispered, "You saw it too, didn't you? That monster."
Matsuda Jinpei, who had only been trying to rescue people from the monster, stopped and asked, "What are you talking about?"
Shuichi Akai: "When you came in, you subconsciously looked around. Were you looking for Isabella's husband?"
Matsuda Jinpei: "What did you see?"
Hideaki Akai started by making things up: "I'm actually a detective. I feel that Isabella's behavior is strange, so I wanted to hide here today to see if she would reveal anything in private."
"As it turned out, I discovered that her husband was a monster."
As he spoke, he watched Matsuda Jinpei's expression change, confirming that he too had seen the monster.
Shuichi Akai continued, "No, to be more precise, her husband was also a victim. He is dead and is currently being hidden in the closet by her."
He grabbed the young officer who was about to rush back and shook his head: "That monster can wear human skin. Even if you go now, you'll most likely only see the monster wearing human skin again."
Just as Shuichi Akai and Jinpei Matsuda inexplicably formed an alliance, the other two people who were acting together also made a new discovery, or rather, were forced to make a new discovery.
These two are working hard to pin the murder on Gin; in other words, they are fabricating evidence pointing to Gin.
The winery's model worker felt a chill run down his spine. The silver-haired man looked around suspiciously, but there was nothing unusual, not even a breeze.
Vodka Ghost faithfully followed his older brother. When he noticed Gin's strange behavior, he looked around as well, but he didn't notice anything amiss. He completely missed the opportunity to witness the known traitor and the traitor still in the shadows conspiring to frame his older brother.
