Chapter 31 About the Pure White Fairy
Any adult would be terrified and run away at the sight, but the blond boy, who was secretly eager to see supernatural creatures, couldn't help but take a few steps forward.
Only then did he notice that there was not only a tree that seemed to have grown out of hell, but also a pure white man in a cloak in front of the tree. The light was dim, and the boy could not see his face, but he remained in the same position as if he were asleep.
The pure white figure leaned against the blood-red branches, its body relaxed, quietly maintaining the posture of facing the giant tree, and holding a round, fruit-like eye in its hand.
The boy stopped in his tracks. He didn't dare to disturb the man's deep sleep, so he slowed his pace, held his breath, and shuffled away little by little.
In the dead of night, the full moon shone above the woods, casting a milky white veil over the dark green trees. The boy, who had come out to look for his parents, was arrested and brought to justice.
In the woods, X, who hadn't eaten anything since noon, had been trying to stay focused by constantly pinching his supple eyeballs, and now his eyelids were starting to droop.
He was unaware of the child secretly watching, nor did he know that he had been inexplicably labeled with a strange tag; all he knew was that he was going to starve to death.
The boy, dragged home by the ear by his mother, was still stubbornly insisting: "I didn't run around! There really are fairies! White ones, pure white fairies!"
"You look like a fairy to me. Do you know how much trouble you've caused everyone?!"
The neighbors, hearing that little William hadn't come home, all came out to look for him. They searched all the way to a nearly deserted wooded area, only to find the brat still there, "pure white fairy~". Vivian made up her mind to go back and teach William what a pure white fairy really was.
"Vivian," Old Peter winked at the angry young woman and gestured for her to shut up.
He was the only person in this small town who still maintained the habit of hunting. He pointed to the barely noticeable bloodstains in the moonlight, his voice growing weaker:
“Look, there’s blood here. There are bloodstains all along the way, but we haven’t encountered any wild animals.”
The woman quickly covered her son's mouth, who was still yelling, and followed Peter, leaving the woods that smelled faintly of blood.
William, who was forbidden from going to the woods again, wrote down his observations of the day in his diary before going to bed, feeling aggrieved. He made up his mind to go again when his mother no longer cared.
As dawn approached, X, who had been groggily clutching his eyeball, suddenly snapped awake to find his hand empty!
The piercing playground remained obediently in place, but X smelled an extremely strong stench of blood. A deer had been pierced up again at some point, and the poor animal was still alive, with blood dripping continuously, staining the lush green woodland with a strange brown hue.
Lobotomy Corporation underground facilities, lower level, records department.
The head of the records department, wearing a monocle, was capturing unusual signals. While Angela was still discussing cooperation details, he began searching for specific signals.
"Do you need my help?" Binah, who was also a department head, asked him.
The gray-haired man looked at the newly appearing reverse Kabbalah energy fluctuations, turned to her and asked, "Have you been fetching water lately?"
"It stopped after he left."
The former leader, holding a cup of black tea, also noticed the fluctuation in front of the head of the records department. Compared to the supervisor who was in an escape state, this seemed more like a signal from an escaped anomaly.
"minister!"
Kingsley rushed into the minister's office with a look of utter disbelief. Upon seeing the woman sitting next to him with a teacup in her hand, he immediately fell silent and obediently greeted her.
"The upper-level employees have mutated! No, they've swapped bodies!"
Who knew that when he saw the suffocating feeling of the hot-tempered older sister from the control department greeting him so politely, his mental state would drop by more than half on the spot, and he almost panicked on the spot.
Her little follower looked at her with curiosity, while the always-smiling guy from the security department smoked a cigarette with a gloomy expression and said, "What?"
He was just helping his minister deliver documents to the head of the control department, not here to witness a horror story!
Benjamin was busy correcting the abnormally fluctuating coordinates, only sparing a tiny bit of attention for the chattering employee, "Who violated the rules by using the Tool Anomaly?"
Kingsley swallowed hard, recalling the eerie scene. He'd rather fight White Night than watch this.
"The three employees who were brought in by the supervisor were the ones who got into trouble. Minister Malkuth has already gathered them together."
“They made a pact with him, and their souls resonated with each other,” the knowledgeable Binah concluded, stroking the teacup in his hand.
The head of the welfare department, who was located on the middle floor of the facility, was also called down to the lower floor. The tall, blue-haired youth stroked his chin and stared at the abnormal fluctuations on the screen. As Sephirah, who controlled the intensity of the reverse Kabbalah suppressor for the entire company, he was extremely sensitive to the fluctuations unique to the anomalies.
“This is an anomaly,” Daniel concluded. “But… look here,” he pointed to a spot where subtle changes were beginning to occur.
"This is a brand new place, a signal of light."
Benjamin knew exactly what the "light" the blue-haired youth referred to meant: light was the exact opposite of the reverse Kabbalah energy belonging to the aliens.
“Oh, right, Kingsley,” the welfare manager turned to the only employee in the room, “go up again in a bit and let them know about the three employees the supervisor brought back…”
Daniel didn't finish what he was saying, but Kingsley understood what he meant. Unlike the other employees who were constantly rewinding in the cycle of their supervisor, these three were experiencing their supervisor's "escape" for the first time. They needed to be taught how to properly deal with their supervisor who had forgotten everything and was now back in a "completely new" state.
"The supervisor didn't leave this time?" Daniel murmured.
“No,” Benjamin corrected, “the teacher is not at the same time as us.”
The soul they were searching for, along with the anomaly that appeared alongside them, was still forty years away from their timeline.
Forty years ago.
X already wants to devour the eyeballs of Piercing Paradise. Once he leaves, the "tree" that has grown big enough will spread its wings again. But if he doesn't leave, the supervisor might wither away first.
This godforsaken place is completely deserted. There's not a single person here. I can't even find anyone to pass on a message. Is he planning to spend his time alone with the Piercing Paradise here?
Where's Angela? Help her!
Angela didn't hear her manager's call; she was signing an energy contract in place of X, who was supposed to be there, as it was the only thing she could do after her manager "disappeared."
Although she didn't know if her supervisor would see it, she would do it if he wanted to.
The contract was signed secretly with the Spanish government, accompanied by Cervantes. During the meeting, she could always feel someone watching her, no, peering into her eyes.
The secretary with long blue hair had a pool of pale, inorganic gold in her eyes, just like X's eyes.
Unlike the supervisor who needs to be followed and protected at all times, she, as an AI, came alone. Carly was left at her residence to look after the supervisor's already destroyed body, and Don Quixote and the soon-to-be-employed reserve employee Sancho were also left there.
Although her onboarding process may be postponed indefinitely now that her supervisor has gone offline, the company still has a large inventory of endorphins, which is sufficient to meet the needs of this relatively energy-intensive transaction.
The gaze grew increasingly intense, to the point of being impossible to ignore. Angela looked in the direction the secretary was looking and saw a middle-aged man dressed in elaborate attire. The red-haired Spanish youth sitting next to her noticed the secretary's actions and also turned his head to look.
With a jolt, Cervantes immediately stood up. How on earth did that man infiltrate the government ranks?
The middle-aged man was dressed in what looked like a theatrical actor's costume, with a hat adorned with feathers. Despite his conspicuous attire, neither he nor anyone else noticed him until the secretary looked at him.
"Calm down, Little Miguel. I'm not here to cause trouble. I just heard that I have an old friend here and wanted to visit him."
He actually came here to cause trouble, but he encountered an unexpected person.
The middle-aged man's gaze remained fixed on Angela. As if realizing something, the secretary closed her eyes again, and the man let out a somewhat regretful sigh.
He remarked to Angela, "You really haven't changed at all."
Angela refused to speak to the man with his exaggerated mannerisms; he gave her an unpleasant feeling, and there was no information about him in her database.
In other words: she doesn't know him.
The Spanish overachiever gritted his teeth as he introduced the man to his collaborator: “This is Mr. William Shakespeare from England.”
Damn it, which link in the chain leaked the word to England? Dante is one thing, after all, he knew X before I did, and he even brought X to Spain.
However, Shakespeare's appearance is definitely not normal, especially since this old man came up with a lame excuse of seeing an old friend. Your "old friend" doesn't even know you!
His superpowers are as annoying as ever. He is mortal enemies with illusion-based superpowers, and his illusions have caused the deaths of many of his colleagues.
The officials inside were completely oblivious to the sudden appearance of the man and his unusual behavior with their secretary, and were still discussing the contract the secretary had brought in hushed tones.
Shakespeare activated his superpower "A Midsummer Night's Dream" from the very beginning. He didn't want irrelevant people to bother him, and he brought Cervantes along because they had direct contact during the battle of superpowers.
If we exclude him, this young transcendent might easily launch an attack upon sensing our supernatural energy fluctuations. It's better to bring him in as well.
The middle-aged transcendent being, with his golden curly hair tied into a small braid, asked the young lady, whom he hadn't seen for almost forty years, the question he most wanted to ask: "Mr. Fairy, how is he?"
Cervantes heard a childlike word uttered by Shakespeare. What was it? Had he written a new play? Was it a children's play this time?
