Chapter 239: They did it.

Art exhibitions are places where loud noises are prohibited.

Feng Shuang and his group rushed in, making a ruckus and pushing each other, which immediately aroused the dissatisfaction of many people, who all looked over.

Especially since they were all carrying food, it was clear they had gone shopping after school and happened to come here, so they decided to come in and take a look.

The aromas of oden, fried skewers, and stinky tofu wafted through the exhibition hall.

Security personnel immediately noticed the problem at the entrance and quickly stepped forward, saying to the group, "Food is not allowed to be brought into the exhibition hall. Please cooperate."

None of them paid him any attention; they continued chatting and laughing as they entered the exhibition hall and began to critique the paintings.

Seeing this, the security guard could only helplessly step aside. After all, this kind of thing depends entirely on one's quality and personal conscience, and he couldn't force others to leave.

Upon seeing the group, Ruan Chen instinctively pulled Fu Jianzhi a few steps deeper into the exhibition hall.

She hates trouble the most.

Fu Jianzhi glanced at the group, then at Ruan Chen. They were all wearing the school uniform of No. 1 Middle School, and he immediately understood what was going on.

"know?"

Ruan Chen pouted, "We just met this afternoon. I signed up for a competition, but Lao He—our homeroom teacher—asked me to team up with her, and the girl next to her too. Let's go, let's go see the exhibition hall ahead."

Fu Jianzhi grabbed Ruan Chen, "We haven't finished looking at this side yet, where are you going?"

“I’m afraid of trouble,” Ruan Chen insisted on dragging him inside. “She’s Principal Feng’s granddaughter, so it’s not good to start a conflict directly.”

"What trouble are you afraid of?" Fu Jianzhi persisted, pulling her along. "Did she make things difficult for you?"

During the struggle, Feng Shuang had already seen Ruan Chen.

But she didn't make any extra moves, acting as if she didn't know them, and continued chatting and laughing with the boy next to her. The others also dispersed in twos and threes, wandering around in the corridor.

Fu Jianzhi chuckled softly, "Looks like you're not planning to come today."

Ruan Chen understood after a moment's thought. Feng Shuang's expression when looking at that boy was clearly one of admiration. At this moment, she naturally didn't want Ruan Chen's face to fall into the eyes of the boy she admired.

The boy was like a breath of fresh air among the group. He wasn't carrying any food, had a very proper demeanor, and didn't participate in any loud discussions. He just quietly walked in and admired the art exhibition.

Fu Jianzhi stared at the boy for a moment and clicked his tongue.

"Oh, you know him too?"

I saw him at a family party last year, but I don't remember which one it was.

Feng Shuang and the other girl naturally stood in front of the huge oil painting. The boy looked up at it for a long time, his eyes sparkling with a light that Feng Shuang had never seen before.

"If I had the chance, I would really like to meet the artist of this painting," the boy said softly. "I heard that Master Yu Lei's last disciple is a high school student who is very low-key, but such a low-key person can have such a flamboyant color scheme. When I was in junior high school, I also wanted to become Master Yu Lei's disciple, but unfortunately I didn't have the talent."

Feng Shuang held a bowl of fried rice cakes in her hand, eating as she said nonchalantly, "That's because Yu Lei is blind, you don't need to take it to heart. Ah Xing, if you want to be Yu Lei's student, I'll have my grandpa ask her later."

The boy called A-Xing frowned. "Feng Shuang, don't talk nonsense."

Feng Shuang looked unconvinced and muttered something under her breath.

She was rebuffed by her friend and, feeling a bit bored, wandered aimlessly down the corridor. There she saw Fu Jianzhi and Ruan Chen arguing under a painting.

Fu Jianzhi's eyes were full of gentle smiles, and he held Ruan Chen's hand intimately. "Sis, avoiding trouble isn't your style. Where did the energy you had when you slapped Ruan Yunhan go? Come on, let's go meet that couple."

Ruan Chen chuckled and nudged him, but didn't want to make too much noise, so she kept her movements restrained and lowered her voice, "What's all the fuss about? I already said she's Principal Feng's granddaughter, I have to give him some face."

Feng Shuang watched the two of them from a few meters away for a while, her expression showing a hint of jealousy. She really wanted to go up and make things difficult for Ruan Chen, but after glancing at A Xing with some hesitation, she walked away dejectedly.

She decided to go play with her group of friends, and soon the sounds of chasing and playing filled the exhibition hall. The group had clearly turned the exhibition hall into a game of hide-and-seek, playing back and forth, accompanied by bickering.

"Feng Shuang, I'm telling the truth. You were just throwing yourself at Fu Xing, and when he didn't want to talk to you, you got bored and came to us."

"You're talking nonsense! What do you mean by 'paying her off'? We're childhood sweethearts, don't you understand?!"

"You don't even like art exhibitions. If Fu Xing hadn't wanted to come, you wouldn't have even glanced at this place!"

Ruan Chen and Fu Jianzhi were right next to this group of people. They heard everything clearly and exchanged a knowing glance.

It really is someone from the Fu family, Fu Xing.

Do you remember?

"I don't remember. Our Fu family's casual banquets always have one or two hundred people. It would be a miracle if I could remember all their faces."

Feng Shuang blushed and glanced in Fu Xing's direction. Fortunately, the boy was completely absorbed in the painting and didn't notice the commotion.

However, the person who had been teasing Feng Shuang seemed intent on getting Fu Xing's attention, and disregarding the occasion, shouted loudly, "Fu Xing, your girlfriend..."

With a loud "snap," the sentence was interrupted.

Fu Jianzhi reacted quickly, pulling Ruan Chen aside to avoid Feng Shuang's "air attack".

To shut her friend up, Feng Shuang threw a whole bowl of fried rice cakes out of her hand. The rice cakes scattered and tumbled in mid-air, one of them grazing Ruan Chen's head and landing on the oil painting next to her.

Then the painting wobbled a few times, rolled off the nail, and crashed to the ground with a thud, shattering glass, breaking the frame, and leaving the painting in a mess of sauce.

Ruan Chen looked down and saw that his signature, which had fallen to the lower right corner, was covered with reddish-brown oil stains.

Feng Shuang clearly hadn't considered the consequences; she was just used to being arrogant and didn't think twice before throwing what she was holding.

The group of playful teenagers fell silent, standing around somewhat bewildered, whispering amongst themselves.

"It shouldn't be too expensive, right? Are we losing money?"

"It can't be too cheap, right? When I came in, I saw a sign at the entrance saying that these paintings were going to be auctioned off for charity."

"Yu Lei and her students' paintings must be expensive. I heard that one of Yu Lei's paintings sold for 60 million several years ago!"

"My God, who painted this picture? Can you tell?"

"Whether we can see it or not, it's none of our business."

"That's right, Feng Shuang, this has nothing to do with us. You're the one who smashed it, aren't you?"

Upon hearing this, the group immediately understood that they should make a hasty retreat, as they didn't want to get involved.

"Let's go first, Feng Shuang. We have classes tomorrow, so we won't be able to help you with this."

"It's okay, isn't your boyfriend's family rich?"

The group of people, after talking for a while, lost their seriousness and started joking around, saying they were going to leave immediately, clearly not intending to care about Feng Shuang.

The security guards heard the commotion and strode over, asking who had done it. Feng Shuang didn't have time to leave.

She saw Ruan Chen standing beside the ruined painting.

"Uncle, they did it! There were only the two of them under the painting at the time, I didn't do anything!"
