Ruan Chen was quite surprised. She didn't expect Lin Fengzi to have such a background, and it seemed to be quite significant, otherwise this group of people wouldn't have bothered to memorize his face.
“I’d like to say a few words to him,” Ruan Chen said.
The situation was completely under Anda's control, and he didn't mind showing his magnanimity and friendliness at this moment, beckoning Lin Fengzi over.
"Fengzi, you should go back first. You'll only get in my way here." Ruan Chen's tone was not friendly, and even a little impolite.
Lin Fengzi gave a helpless bitter smile, "What a joke! I know you're capable and talented, but no matter how cunning you are, you've already reached a dead end. At least let me be with you; two people are better than one."
"I will go back."
"Stop talking nonsense," Lin Fengzi lowered her voice, "Anyway, he has already sent out the signal. Let's take a gamble. You go left, I'll go right. In a bit, you'll follow behind me and rush onto the small boat."
Lin Fengzi had already planned the route in her mind, calculating her speed and the angle and direction of her attack.
Ruan Chen simply smiled coolly and asked, "How confident are you?"
"Seventy percent."
Ruan Chen looked around, her tone slightly sarcastic, "Oh, I didn't realize you had such extraordinary skills."
"Alright, alright, fifty percent, but we have to give it a try. Who knows what kind of hellish place they're going to take you to?"
Ruan Chen ruthlessly exposed his lie, "At most 30%, bullets don't have eyes, and the other 70% means neither of us will leave this ship unscathed."
Anda walked over and interrupted the two with a smile, "Alright, stop plotting your escape, Mr. Lin. Please leave. This is also our esteemed guest's request."
Lin Fengzi bent down and hugged Ruan Chen one last time, slipped something into the outside pocket of her clothes, patted it meaningfully, and left.
As Ruan Chen watched the speedboats carrying her family and friends sail away from the area, Anda walked up behind her, put his arm around her shoulder in a very intimate manner, and said, "Miss Ruan, you don't need to be too sad. Believe me, your future is far brighter and more promising than theirs."
Ruan Chen fiddled with the pendant around her neck, watching the speedboat disappear beyond the range of the ship's guns. She tilted her head slightly, took Anda's hand that was on her shoulder, her beautiful eyes captivating, and asked, "Is it possible that I don't want that so-called bright and grand future you're talking about at all?"
As soon as she finished speaking, she suddenly exerted force and threw Anda to the ground with a powerful back throw!
Her movements were swift and decisive; she snatched Anda's gun in one go and fired without the slightest hesitation.
One second Anda was still basking in the joy of completing the mission, thinking about how to toy with the prey he had finally managed to get his hands on, when the next second he was suddenly dizzy, followed by excruciating pain as if his bones were cracking.
Ruan Chen stomped heavily on his chest. The bullet that had just been fired was magnified in Anda's still-gloomy eyes, and finally pierced through his forehead, leaving a bloody hole that smelled of death.
As Ruan Chen suddenly launched his attack, the Blood Skull gang followed suit, pointing their guns at the pirates from other gangs who had come aboard the cruise ship. Amidst a flurry of gunfire and several incredulous curses, corpses littered the deck.
Ruan Chen heard a few splashes of water. The leader of the Blood Skull waved his hand, and the others jumped in after him. A short while later, they returned, soaking wet, to report, "Second Boss, Brother Hao, we've taken care of them all. Not a single one was left alive."
Ruan Chen remained unmoved and nodded faintly, "You did a good job."
Her Plan A was to kidnap Anda, and when chaos broke out among the pirates, Blood Skull could take the opportunity to evacuate the students from the cruise ship. However, she did not expect that if Anda did not send a signal to Gilly, the entire sea area would be attacked. Ruan Chen had no choice but to pretend to compromise and let the other students who came to participate in the competition evacuate first.
She wanted to finish her three years of high school peacefully and genuinely didn't want to shoot and kill people in front of these people.
Chen Hao, the leader of the Blood Skull gang who led this group to take on side jobs, cautiously looked at Ruan Chen's expression and asked, "Second Boss, could you please explain this to everyone? This is really a misunderstanding. Recently, our smuggling routes have been almost completely shut down. If we don't take on some side jobs, our brothers will really starve to death."
“I understand,” Ruan Chen didn’t really know much about the internal affairs of Blood Skull. Su Ze only gave her the title of second-in-command to make things easier, but she knew she had to put on a good show. “I’ll explain to Brother Ze, and no one in China will hold you accountable.”
The yacht was totaled. Chen Hao's men arrived in several speedboats. "Second Boss, we'll take you back to Haitang Port now."
"Thank you for your hard work." Ruan Chen fiddled with her phone without looking up, completely focused.
Chen Hao suddenly asked, "Second Boss, there shouldn't be any signal on the ship right now, right?"
Ruan Chen casually replied, "I just play single-player games."
"The second-in-command is quite young," Chen Hao suddenly became more talkative. "I had never heard of you before, but now it seems that you are indeed very capable, which is why the first-in-command relies on you so much."
"It's alright, I was just lucky. Didn't I also get lucky to escape tonight?" Ruan Chen pressed the send button, and the words "sent successfully" appeared at the bottom of the screen. She breathed a sigh of relief.
"Is the second-in-command still in school? Isn't it too unfair for a genius like you, who is worth the US going to great lengths to snatch, to be in a small gang like Blood Skull?"
Ruan Chen gave an ambiguous "hmm" through her nose, then said, "If Su Ze heard you say that the business he worked so hard to build was just a small gang, he probably wouldn't look too happy."
A group of people had already reached the ship's side. The sky was beginning to lighten. Ruan Chen glanced at the calm sea and raised her delicate eyebrows—this spot was completely empty, with no small boats in sight.
But by sheer coincidence, there happened to be a gap created during the earlier melee, perfect for dumping the body.
It seems my intuition was right.
"Second Boss, you don't seem to have been in the gang for very long. I wonder if you've heard any rumors about you?" Chen Hao continued to probe.
Ruan Chen's emotions remained unchanged, and her tone carried a hint of curiosity as she said, "Tell me about it."
"There's a rumor that the age difference between you and the Boss is quite interesting. The Boss also had a few romantic affairs more than ten years ago," Chen Hao said tactfully.
Ruan Chen laughed, "Then you'll have to explain for me when you get back. I have no relationship with the Boss in that respect. It's just that I broke one of his systems before, and he took a liking to my abilities and recruited me. Don't overthink it."
Chen Hao suddenly stopped in his tracks.
"That puts my mind at ease."
"Since you are not a member of the Su family, then Second Master, you can die now."
