Second-in-command?
Ruan Chen was slightly taken aback.
The gunman not far away had already lowered his gun, all the murderous intent from before vanished, and pounced on Ruan Chen like a lapdog, pointing to the sky and swearing, "Second Master, I swear to God, if I had known it was you, I wouldn't have taken this job no matter how much money that Yu family kid offered!"
"What nonsense are you spouting?" The man who had just been kicked by Ruan Chen limped over to Ruan Chen. "Second Master, just say the word, and I'll get you that Yu family brat's head right away!"
Ruan Chen: ...What would I need heads for?
She verified the numbers tattooed on the collarbones of the three people, and they really were from the Blood Skull group.
She knew that her uncle had always had influence in China and was secretly doing business, but she never imagined that one day she would become part of that business herself.
"Does the boss know you took this job?"
Since its inception, Blood Skull has been dominated by Su Ze's absolute authority.
After Ruan Chen returned, Su Ze only informed everyone that the Blood Skull had gained a second-in-command, but never revealed a single word about Ruan Chen.
This was the first time these three people had ever heard that the elusive second-in-command was actually studying in high school in China.
Upon hearing Ruan Chen mention Su Ze, the three of them became embarrassed.
They were obviously taking on side jobs behind Su Ze's back—it was against the family rules. The main reason was that several of their projects had recently suffered heavy losses, and if they didn't earn some extra money, their subordinates would be starving.
"Never mind, no need to say anything," Ruan Chen waved his hand helplessly. "I understand. How did you guys negotiate this private job with Yu Tianji?"
"It's cash. He put the cash in the designated mailbox, and we're going to retrieve it."
Ruan Chen was somewhat disappointed; even so, they still couldn't convict Yu Tianji.
She first called Xu Xiaolan, then continued walking towards Jinghua University of Science and Technology.
At 10 p.m., a huge explosion was heard by Longhu Lake in the South Campus of Beijing University of Technology.
Yu Tianji waited for almost two hours before receiving a call around eight o'clock. The caller said that the matter would definitely be settled at the South Campus of Beijing University of Technology that night and invited Yu Tianji to attend the ceremony.
The voice on the other end of the phone was deep and hoarse, "Young Master Yu, we would like to invite you to enjoy the fireworks tonight."
Although he didn't know what Ruan Chen was doing at Jinghua University of Technology so late at night, Yu Tianji was very interested in seeing Ruan Chen's body mutilated.
The explosion rang out, and a weight was finally lifted from Yu Tianji's heart.
His ungrateful younger brother would be buried tomorrow, and Ruan Chen, the only one who could threaten him, had turned into wisps of smoke. Yu Tianji felt carefree and walked towards Longhu Lake with an air of indifference.
He was there to pay the final payment. As agreed, once the transaction was complete, he would personally go to the scene to confirm Ruan Chen's death and bring the final payment, passport, and plane ticket to the group.
He hoped to find something as a souvenir to commemorate his successful plan, as the first step towards the pinnacle of his life's success.
The second step was to kill Yu Xiaoya through an accident.
A deep crater was blown into the lakeside of Longhu Lake. The school has put up a cordon, and the police have not yet arrived.
Yu Tianji recognized the fragments of Ruan Chen's schoolbag lying at the bottom of the pit from afar.
He was already figuring out how to get his hands on the souvenirs when he took out his phone and snapped a few pictures of the bottom of the pit.
There was no blood or debris, but that was to be expected. I didn't expect those people to be so capable as to be able to get their hands on such powerful explosives.
"Hey, was it you who wanted to kill that girl?"
Just as Yu Tianji was getting carried away with his pride, a somewhat cold voice suddenly came from behind him.
He turned around and saw a little boy.
He looked to be around ten years old, and his complexion was unhealthy and pale, as if he had just recovered from a serious illness.
The curves of her eyebrows and eyes are sharp and clean.
His clear, black and white eyes stared intently at Yu Tianji, making him feel uneasy. He slowly asked again, "Do you want to kill her?"
To hide the slight fear that the little gadget had stirred in his heart, Yu Tianji swore, "None of your business, go play somewhere else."
The boy shrugged and said softly in an apologetic tone, "If Young Master Yu won't say, then I can only assume it's you."
If he was only a little creeped out before, when the boy said those words, Yu Tianji was truly terrified by the familiarity in them.
The tingling sensation spread from my tailbone to my brain.
He even wanted to go to the toilet.
Yu Tianji was a little dazed, his vision blurred, and he blurted out subconsciously, "Stop playing tricks on me, who do you think you are?!"
But when he came to his senses, there was no one in front of him, as if everything that had just happened was just an illusion.
wrong.
It's not a hallucination.
Before disappearing, the ghostly boy left a message: "Your death here will only cause her trouble. Let's do it another day."
Yu Tianji gripped the money, passport, and plane ticket he had prepared.
Perhaps he should get himself a set and go out to lay low for a while.
If a lie is told for too long, you will start to believe it yourself—Yu Tianji told his lie for so long that he actually believed that he was the mysterious person who broke Yu Tianjiao's hands back then.
But the reality is harsh.
The mysterious person was not him, and the mysterious person was now targeting him.
Because Ruan Chen died at his own hands.
Yu Tianjiao only touched her once, and his hands were broken. He didn't even need to think about his own fate; he would die a million times worse than her.
He didn't care about the final payment anymore; he grabbed the money in his hand and ran out.
He's heading to the airport now! He's leaving China right now!
Otherwise, he would definitely die here!
But he was stopped before he could run two steps after turning around.
The person who arrived was dressed in a police uniform and showed his identification. "Are you Yu Tianji? We are from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Municipal Public Security Bureau. Please come with us."
Yu Tianji didn't know if something had gone wrong and the police had taken notice of her, but she knew she absolutely couldn't go to the Criminal Investigation Division right now; she needed to catch the last international flight tonight to leave China.
So he firmly refused, "Sorry, I'm not available right now, maybe tomorrow."
The police were even tougher on him, directly producing a summons.
“Your accomplice has already confessed,” the police officer said, taking the black handbag he was clutching tightly from his hand and examining the fake passport and plane ticket inside. “Now you are one of the suspects in the murder of Ruan Chen. Please come with us for questioning.”
Yu Tianji whirled around, staring at the mangled backpack at the bottom of the pit, and screamed, "Where's Ruan Chen? Is Ruan Chen dead? What evidence do you have that I'm a suspect? This is a frame-up! I was just delivering something for someone, I have no idea about any murder!"
