Chapter 118 What do you like? I'll buy it for you.

"Ruan Chen, is that your friend?"

Lin Fengzi and Bai Jiaojiao walked in and politely nodded to Ruan Qin.

Ruan Chen stopped her conversation with Ruan Qin and stood up to introduce him to Lin Fengzi and Bai Jiaojiao, "This is Ruan Yunhan's brother."

Lin Fengzi's expression immediately turned unfriendly, and she asked Ruan Chen, "Did he bully you?"

“No,” Ruan Chen turned to Ruan Qin and introduced, “This is my friend. He just left the hospital. Your sister threw a cup of hot coffee in someone’s face last night.”

She tapped her phone lightly with her fingertip, teasingly asking, "Want to see the security footage?"

Ruan Qin sighed, stood up, and apologized to Bai Jiaojiao, "It's my fault for not keeping her in check."

Ruan Chen was too lazy to say anything more to Ruan Qin, so she packed a sandwich and started eating it. "Shall we go?"

"Okay." Bai Jiaojiao said softly, and the two naturally linked arms and walked towards the door.

Ruan Chen couldn't help but squeeze Bai Jiaojiao's hand; it was so soft.

The girl is soft all over.

Lin Fengzi didn't come out with them.

Ruan Chen and Bai Jiaojiao waited at the door for a few minutes before Lin Fengzi hurriedly came out. Bai Jiaojiao asked, "Team leader, did you have a fight with him?"

"No, I was just reminding him from a psychologist's perspective to pay attention to his sister's mental health, and also to reflect on how Ruan Yunhan turned out this way."

Ruan Chen was taken aback. "You studied psychology?"

Was Su Ze planning to kidnap a psychologist back then? What kind of illness could he treat? Did he care about the mental health of the rioters?

“I studied pediatrics,” Lin Fengzi replied casually, “and I also took psychology as an elective. I even considered changing my major before.”

As the car slowly drove away, Ruan Chen turned his head and looked through the car window at Ruan Qin.

He remained standing there motionless, as if deep in thought.

"Father Lin, what are the plans for today?"

Lin Fengzi didn't bother with Ruan Chen's deliberately funny way of addressing her. "I'll finish the PPT framework for the report this morning. Mu Xiangrong and Jiaojiao have made plans to go out this afternoon, and Song Cheng and I will check the equipment. As for you... do whatever you want, you're a very busy person."

Their group has plenty of time; they just need to integrate the data and models and memorize the report draft.

"Stop messing around, talk this out." Ruan Chen kicked the back of Lin Fengzi's chair from behind.

“You don’t need to work with us these next couple of days, just get some rest. We’ll finish the PPT here, and your job is to familiarize yourself with the draft in the last two days—it’ll be about twelve or thirteen pages, A4 paper, double-sided,” Lin Fengzi glanced back at Ruan Chen’s face, which was much better than when she saw her this morning, looking like she was about to die. “It’s a lot of work, so you’ll have to work hard for the last two days. But thankfully, the organizing committee didn’t require us to speak without the script.”

Ruan Chen remained silent, her eyes fixed on the view outside the window.

As the car turned a corner, she even shifted her body slightly to look at the street corner.

"Ruan Chen?" Lin Fengzi called out.

"Okay, then I won't bother you guys in the conference room for the next couple of days." Ruan Chen said absentmindedly.

She had just caught a glimpse of a very familiar figure getting out of a car and heading into a building, surrounded by several bodyguards in black.

But before she could see and confirm, the car turned a corner, leaving the building behind.

"Never mind," Ruan Chen rubbed her temples, feeling a bit neurotic. "Why would Fu Jianzhi come here?"

He's probably someone's young master, about the same height and age as Fu Jianzhi.

Despite this thought, Ruan Chen still opened her phone and searched for the location of the building on a satellite map.

Just then, Ruan Luo's message popped up, asking if she wanted to go to the Sotheby's Crown Jewellery Show that afternoon, offering two admission tickets.

He said that Ruan Yu'er became nervous and anxious again and didn't sleep well all night. Ye Huanhuan was worried about Ruan Yu'er and had no mind to go, so it was Ruan Luo who was left to find Ruan Chen.

Now that Lin Fengzi has said she won't need her for the next couple of days, she's happy to wander around.

She replied that there was no problem, then switched the interface back to the satellite map, absentmindedly focusing on the location, her finger zooming in and moving back and forth on the screen.

There was nothing there.

Ruan Chen thought it was a bad signal, so she refreshed the page and relocated her location.

There's still nothing there.

She sat up straight, her eyes fixed on the satellite map.

The hospital, the shop where I had breakfast, and the shopping mall I passed by were all there, but the location of that building was the only blank space.

Someone deliberately erased it from the map.

Ruan Chen closed her phone, too lazy to think about it anymore. She's always been the kind of person who has no curiosity about things that don't concern her.

After returning, Ruan Chen first helped Ruan Yu'er smooth out her speech draft—their group's design was relatively simple, with only three pages in total, and they probably weren't aiming for an international award.

Ye Huanhuan was worried that it would delay Ruan Chen's work, but Ruan Chen said that he was not busy these two days and insisted on helping Ruan Yu'er with the PPT.

Ruan Luo stood to the side with his arms crossed, watching Ruan Yu'er's little actions—when she was nervous, she would tug at her clothes, pick at her nails, and rub her nose.

Time flew by and it was already afternoon. Ruan Luo called Ruan Chen to change his clothes early and specifically told him not to wear a hoodie.

"Okay, okay, stop nagging." Ruan Chen, wearing hotel slippers and chewing on a cheese stick, walked impatiently into her room.

"And don't wear baseball uniforms or sneakers," Ruan Luo knew Ruan Chen was a carefree person, and shouted after him, "That's a Crown Jewelry exhibition, at least wear something worthy of the crown!"

Ten minutes later, Ruan Chen came out.

With an extremely cold and beautiful face, she walked out of the room and stood in front of Ruan Luo. "Satisfied?"

Ruan Luo subconsciously shifted her eyes, her breathing stiffening.

Ruan Chen looked at him with a half-smile. Her dress was an unrestrained red, cinched at the waist, and the lower half gradually turned into a dazzling gold.

Aside from the hand-stitched rhinestones and sequins, the dress has no extra patterns or decorations, but it is still very eye-catching and flamboyant.

“Great,” he glanced around Ruan Chen’s shoe rack, picked up the only pair of high heels, and said, “Put these on and let’s go.”

At the entrance of the exhibition hall, Ruan Luo gentlemanly opened the car door for Ruan Chen and took her hand as they entered the exhibition hall.

He could clearly hear the gasps and hushed whispers of the people around him.

It was clearly aimed at Ruan Chen.

With a stern face, Ruan Luo pulled off her coat and draped it over Ruan Chen. She then looked around defiantly, glaring back at each of the gazes that were fixed on Ruan Chen and unwilling to look away.

Ruan Chen didn't care about that; her eyes were already drawn to the luxurious jewelry in the rows of display cases.

What girl can resist something sparkly and shiny?

Even Ruan Chen is no exception—in fact, she especially likes it, otherwise she wouldn't have participated in the tR Global Design Competition back then. Her first piece was an enamel brooch.

"What do you want? I'll buy it for you when the auction starts."

Before setting off, Ye Huanhuan specifically called Ruan Luo over and gave him a card, saying, "Buy whatever your sister likes. She's thoughtful and might not say what she likes, so you need to be careful."
