Chapter 85 Someone Pleads for Zeng Han

Ruan Chen arrived home at almost nine o'clock.

Ye Huanhuan escorted her to the apartment door, repeatedly reminding her to tell her family if she encountered any trouble.

Ruan Chen was extremely tired, and the thought of all the things she had to do gave her a terrible headache.

For her, daily schedules and plans must be set a week in advance. It's like she has some kind of obsessive-compulsive disorder. She can only fall asleep peacefully when every item on her schedule is checked off.

No matter how late I am that day.

She herself couldn't remember how many nights she went to bed when the sky was already turning light.

Anything that disrupts her plans will make her irritable.

She just hid it very well.

Ruan Chen knew she was pushing herself too hard, but she had already lost almost thirteen years of her life, and she couldn't wait to make up for those regrets. She looked at the world greedily, trying her best to get the best of everything.

It's as if this will allow me to completely shake off that dirty and unbearable past.

Ruan Chen didn't rush to open the door, but stood quietly at the door for a moment to compose herself.

Fu Jianzhi is too sensitive.

The moment the door opened, Ruan Chen was stunned.

The living room was lit by a warm yellow light. Fu Jianzhi was looking at the computer at the table when he saw Ruan Chen come in. He smiled with surprise and got up to go to the kitchen to bring in the food.

Grandpa Wenlou was reading a book on the sofa when he saw Ruan Chen return. He said, "Jianzhi has been waiting for you outside. Whenever he heard footsteps, he would peek through the peephole to see if it was you."

Ruan Chen sighed in relief, sat down at the table, and buried her head in her warm porridge.

She really liked the feel of the apartment.

She seemed preoccupied, drank quickly, and paused slightly when she entered the room.

The tablet and computer were placed on the table, in her usual spot, and they were the brands she always used.

Ruan Chen almost suspected that everything that happened at No. 1 Middle School today was a dream.

She tapped the screen to open it, and most of the contents were restored. The desktop settings and folder settings were also the ones she was most comfortable with.

Fu Jianzhi knocked on the door and came in carrying a plate of fruit, placing it on the table. "Sis, I've tried my best to restore part of it based on the memory storage on your desktop computer and the contents of the cloud folder. Take a look and see if it works. I figured you should have bought a new phone, so I didn't buy another one."

Ruan Chen suspected that this little thing was about to become a spirit.

When I found him, he couldn't even remember his own name.

He seemed to know that Ruan Chen was on the verge of a temper, so he put down the fruit and left, closing the door behind him.

He didn't mention a word about what happened to Ruan Chen today, only saying meekly, "Sister, you're busy, get some rest."

Ruan Chen popped a cherry tomato into her mouth and thought to herself, "Oh, she's even good at reading people now."

With Fu Jianzhi's help, Ruan Chen's pressure suddenly eased a lot, and she began to do the tasks for the evening one by one according to the schedule.

Zeng Han called her sixteen times in between. Ruan Chen only realized this when she checked her phone before going to bed. She belatedly recalled that Fu Jianzhi had touched her phone before leaving.

I guess this guy is muting her phone.

Ruan Chen suspected that Fu Jianzhi was a roundworm, or perhaps the one in her own stomach.

Zeng Han did not show up the next day, and the homeroom teacher of the class next door came to substitute for her.

Ruan Chen showed no awareness of being involved in the controversy. She carried her schoolbag into the classroom with one hand, looking tired, cold, and indifferent.

Yu Xiaoya was startled when she saw Ruan Chen's face. "Ruan Chen, you stayed up all night? It's all that old hag Zeng Han's fault, isn't it?"

"No, I went to sleep around 3 a.m."

Ruan Chen pulled a book out of her bag, reached for Yu Xiaoya's homework and started copying it. After copying for a while, she asked, "Xiaoya, you got one question wrong. Do you want to correct it?"

Which one?

"Third to last...you got the last two wrong too." Ruan Chen didn't know whether he was copying or writing. He filled in the blank paper in about ten minutes, rolled it up, and stuffed it into the drawer.

Her drawer was a complete mess; the textbooks were all curled up and frayed, and all sorts of test papers, newspapers, and daily practice papers were piled up haphazardly.

During the second break, Xu Xiaolan sent her a message: "The DNA test results are in. It's Zeng Han. I've also sent the video from your email to my colleagues. The evidence is sufficient. You can come over and file a case, and then we can issue a detention warrant. As for the subsequent sentencing, we'll need to investigate further, but you can contact a lawyer first. Your chances of winning are almost 100%."

Ruan Chen glanced at the next class; it was physics. The teacher was quite nice and had always been good to Ruan Chen, so skipping half of the class shouldn't be a problem.

"Sister Xiaolan, I'll go right now."

She wanted to resolve this upsetting situation as soon as possible.

Ruan Chen hurriedly walked out of the classroom, but was stopped just as she reached the corner of the stairs.

The group consisted of three people. The man in the lead had such a fleshy face that his eyes were almost invisible, and his suit was open, with the top two buttons barely holding them up.

Two more people followed behind, one carrying a water glass and the other a briefcase.

Common configuration.

The man with the briefcase whispered something in the ear of the fat man at the head of the group.

"You're Ruan Chen?" The fat man looked her up and down several times. "I just happened to be looking for you. Let's go to your principal's office and have a talk."

"Is there something you need?" Ruan Chen recognized the person at a glance, thanks to her excellent memory.

At the Municipal Bureau, his photo was posted on the photo wall, in front of Deputy Director Lü's photo.

It seems to be... surnamed Zhang.

"Are you rushing downstairs to file a case at the Municipal Bureau?" Director Zhang asked, looking like he was in control. "You don't need to go. Let's talk."

Ruan Chen understood; it turned out to be Zeng Han's backer.

After all, Zeng Han is a PhD graduate from one of the top four research institutes. Although he is a bit stupid and bad, he has his own network of connections that he can use when it matters.

"OK."

Feng Yuankai's office.

After serving each of them a cup of hot tea, the old man leaned back behind his desk, closed his eyes, and rested, acting as if he didn't care.

Director Zhang had hoped that the principal of No. 1 High School would put in a good word for him, but Feng Yuankai simply asked in return, "Do you want me to use my position as principal to threaten the victim?"

Director Zhang knew that this old man was a cunning fellow, so he gritted his teeth and endured it, giving Ruan Chen a forced smile.

"Ruan Chen, I know your background. You have excellent grades and a close relationship with Chairman Ruan, but you should know that many things in life cannot be determined by personal ability and family background—your goal for the college entrance examination should be the top four universities, right? At the very least, your ideal should be a university ranked in the top ten."

He was subtly threatening Ruan Chen's future.

He also graduated from Shanhe University and has connections in academic circles.

For students, nothing is more important than the college entrance examination, especially for someone like Ruan Chen who comes from a poor background. Although she returned to the Ruan family halfway through her studies, she should cherish the opportunity to learn even more.

"Not at all, Uncle, you really think too highly of me," Ruan Chen said with a sincere and polite smile. "The country has been working hard to cultivate technical talents in recent years. My goal is Shilizhuang Vocational and Technical College, specializing in air conditioner compressor troubleshooting. Last year, the admission score for Shilizhuang Vocational College was 150. This score has not fluctuated for the past three years. I hope it won't be too high the year I take the college entrance examination."
