Ruan Chen remained indifferent, glancing coolly at Zeng Han.
This guy is just trying to shift the blame onto others because he's upset.
The leaders of No. 1 High School must be blind to allow such misleading and harmful teaching materials to be presented on the podium.
The classroom was filled with bursts of laughter.
"Did you hear that right? More than 60,000th place? What's the point of having a brain like that? If I got that score, I'd find a secluded place and hang myself."
"Over 60,000, I think this student doesn't need to work hard anymore. After all, the gap is too huge. It's a problem with innate intelligence. No matter how hard he tries later, it's useless."
"She could easily make a living off her looks, but she insists on relying on hard work. The problem is, even if she works hard, she still won't be able to make a living. She might as well take advantage of her youth and make as much money as possible with her looks."
Ruan Chen got up and silently packed her books and things to go to the first row, while Yu Xiaoya was so angry that she felt dizzy.
Although she didn't know what Ruan Chen's situation was in the high school entrance exam, she was sure that the academic genius had his reasons for doing this.
And this homeroom teacher is a real scoundrel; he's clearly stirring up trouble and getting everyone to suppress Ruan Chen.
Yu Xiaoya stood up and said, "I'll go to the first row too."
For Yu Xiaoya, it didn't matter where she sat; her main concern was that Ruan Chen's grades would lead to her being ostracized in the top class, all alone with no one to speak up for her.
Although she believed that Ruan Chen could handle the matter on her own, she also felt that Ruan Chen still needed friends.
Ruan Chen carried a thick stack of books across almost the entire classroom toward the first row. The books were blocking her view, so she didn't see a boy's maliciously outstretched foot.
Everyone around saw it, exchanging excited glances, but no one said a word to warn them.
Ruan Chen suddenly lost her balance, and the book flew far away, but she was unharmed and stood up steadily.
His elbow slammed hard against the corner of the table, and a large bruise immediately appeared.
A hint of malice flashed in her beautiful eyes. She looked up and fixed her gaze on the boy beside her who was shrugging and laughing.
"you?"
"It's me, so what?" The boy smugly lifted his foot—the side of his snow-white sneakers bore the marks where Ruan Chen had just tripped. "You're not happy, you little idiot?"
Ruan Chen calmly suppressed her anger, tapped the table, and said, "Apologize, pick it up, and this matter will be over."
Yu Xiaoya bent down to pick up the sword, but Ruan Chen grabbed her arm and stared coldly at the arrogant boy. "Xiaoya, let him pick it up."
Yu Xiaoya: The academic genius called my name! How affectionate! I love his cool voice!
"Who do you think you are? It was an accident, and even if I did it on purpose, so what? Don't think you're so great just because your family has some money to send you in. Do you think No. 1 High School is your family's property... What are you doing?!"
The boy was talking incessantly, and a chorus of agreement filled the air around him.
Ruan Chen said into her phone, "Yes, that's right. This behavior is clearly intentional assault. My arm is already injured. I have the surveillance footage from that time, and the person involved has already admitted that it was intentional. Please send the police as soon as possible, thank you."
After hanging up the phone, Ruan Chen looked up impatiently and said casually, "I'm calling the police, you idiot."
"They won't bother with such trivial matters!"
"Whether they care or not, we'll find out when the police arrive—do you think the police station is your private property?"
After she finished speaking, she sat lazily on an empty table and kindly reminded the students around her, "Please make way and don't disturb the crime scene."
Her actions stunned the students around her. Normally, minor fights in school would never escalate to the point of calling the police. Even if a fight did break out and blood was drawn, it would be the school leaders and the parents of both sides who would step in to smooth things over.
If someone gets tripped, they should immediately call the police!
But Yu Xiaoya wasn't surprised.
It was even expected.
If Yu Xiaoya were in her shoes, she would have done the same thing—the surveillance cameras on the podium are clearly visible, and whoever lays a hand on her would be in the wrong.
Ruan Chen is a civilized person.
Even if you're going to ambush someone, you have to choose a place without surveillance cameras.
Zeng Han quickly caught wind of it and arrived, her three-inch stilettos clicking in the air.
Ruan Chen was sitting on the table looking at her phone, her fingertips moving rapidly across the complex interface, her pale fingertips devoid of color.
She stayed out at the bar until midnight again yesterday and didn't get enough rest. She looked lazy, listless, and dispirited.
Zeng Han's fingertips were almost poking her nose. "Why are you causing trouble on your very first day here! Don't you know how much effort your uncle put in to give you the opportunity to study at No. 1 Middle School?"
Ruan Chen really didn't know.
Ye Zitao—her uncle—brought her there. She simply listed her competition results and awards from the past year, and the kind-looking principal readily agreed, praising her for being thoughtful, insightful, and choosing No. 1 High School to continue her high school studies.
They didn't even collect the tuition fees.
"Get down here right now! Apologize to Lou Heng!"
Ruan Chen finished what she was doing, snapped her phone shut, and asked, "Teacher, what did I do wrong that I need to apologize to this student?"
Zeng Han choked.
She had only heard that something had happened in her class, and when she came over, she saw Ruan Chen and Lou Heng seemingly at odds, so she assumed that Ruan Chen had started the trouble.
"Lou Heng, you speak! Don't worry, your teacher is on your side!"
Before Lou Heng could even speak, Ruan Chen launched into a chillingly sarcastic remark, "Oh, taking sides, huh? A combined bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree, Shanhe University's teacher training program is quite effective—wait, teacher, are you perhaps guilty of academic misconduct? I feel your teaching level is a disgrace to Shanhe University. How did you even graduate?"
Before Zeng Han could utter her angry words, hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor.
“We received a report that someone here is suspected of intentional assault.”
"It's me." Ruan Chen's lazy demeanor suddenly vanished.
Two female police officers arrived and, in a routine tone, entered information into the device: "Name."
"Ruan Chen".
"Citizen ID number".
After Ruan Chen gave his citizen ID number, the two police officers exchanged a glance.
The internal system contains Ruan Chen's personal information and is vertically subordinate to the Municipal Bureau; they don't even have permission to view it.
Their tone softened subtly, becoming more friendly as they asked, "What's going on?"
Lou Heng panicked when he saw the police had actually arrived. He rushed forward to explain, "Please listen to me! I really didn't mean to! She was just walking around carelessly and stepped on my shoes. I was already being generous by not making her pay for them, and now she's turning around and accusing me!"
Ruan Chen chuckled softly, handed the phone to Yu Xiaoya, and said gently, "Xiaoya, could you please save the first two files for me?"
Yu Xiaoya was so happy she almost fainted.
Even a top student has such a gentle side! She smiled at me!
I actually bullied the academic genius before, I deserve to die!
The academic genius really went easy on me back then!
She took the phone, plugged in the data cable, and connected it to the teacher's multimedia system.
Lou Heng's voice was amplified by the loudspeaker and echoed throughout the entire classroom.
"So what if I did it on purpose? Don't think you're so great just because your family has a bit of money and sent you in here!"
Lou Heng's face turned deathly pale instantly.
Ruan Chen actually recorded it!
She intended to call the police from the beginning!
What kind of thought process does this person have?!
The second file is a video recording that Ruan Chengang retrieved from the school's system.
The video is very clear. Lou Heng deliberately stuck out his foot, blocking Ruan Chen's way, and winked at the surrounding classmates.
It was clearly intentional!
"Lou Heng, is that right? Come back with us. Also, please inform your guardian."
