Ruan Yunhan was stunned by the murderous intent in Ruan Chen's tone.
She knew that Ruan Chen was truly capable of taking action.
After she boarded the plane, she was seated on a sofa in the front corner. Ruan Luo gave her a threatening look, said nothing, pulled the curtain closed, and turned back to sit down next to Ruan Yu'er.
Ruan Yu'er naturally rested her head on Ruan Luo's strong arm.
After the plane stabilized, Ruan Chen sat down not too far from Ruan Yunhan's seat, set up his easel, and began to paint.
Bo Nian walked up behind her, watched for a while, and asked curiously, "You can also draw?"
"I know a little, but not much," Ruan Chen replied dismissively.
This was prepared by Yu Lei, who has a solo exhibition next year and wants to display some of her students' works.
Yu Lei even joked with Ruan Chen that if Ruan Chen won an award at the Venice International Painting Competition, she would put Ruan Chen's painting in the center position.
Ruan Chen was just chewing on a watercolor pen at the time, and asked, "Would it sell for a higher price if it were placed in the center position?"
The plane suddenly lurched violently, and Bo Nian, who was standing, stumbled and almost fell onto Ruan Chen.
Ruan Chen quickly picked up the whole box of paints and moved it to a spot near the window—some of the colors inside were extremely expensive, such as gem-quality ultramarine and Tyrian purple.
Ruan Chen didn't want to use such expensive paints for her painting; in her opinion, it would be more worthwhile to sell them. But Yu Lei insisted that only such paints could give the painting soul.
If she spills it, Yu Lei will definitely nag her again.
Bo Nian slumped onto the sofa in a disheveled state, kicking over Ruan Chen's easel.
The thin piece of paper swayed and swirled in the air before sliding into the cubicle where Ruan Yunhan was hidden by a curtain.
The unfinished work fell squarely into Ruan Yunhan's eyes.
She followed Yu Wanqing until she was seventeen. Yu Wanqing was an artist. Although Ruan Yunhan did not pursue an art career, she could still see the value of this painting.
Moreover, it is an unfinished work.
I've never heard of Ruan Chen being able to paint.
When I visited Ruan Chen's house last time, I didn't see anything related to painting.
Ruan Yunhan subconsciously took out her phone, zoomed in, focused, and pressed the shutter from different angles.
The plane passed through the airflow layer. Bo Nian stood up, propped himself up on the sofa, and helped Ruan Chen up with her easel, apologizing to her.
“It’s nothing,” Ruan Chen frowned, glanced at the area where the curtain was drawn, and handed the paint box in her hand to Bo Nian. “Please hold this for me, thank you.”
She lifted the curtain on Ruan Yunhan's side with two fingers, looked down and saw the painting lying on the floor. She knelt down, picked it up, and said softly...
"Sorry to bother you."
Ruan Yunhan's gaze passed through the curtain lifted by Ruan Chen and fell upon Bo Nian, who was holding a box of paints.
Bo Nian's gaze suddenly met Ruan Yunhan's cold eyes, and he was genuinely startled.
It turned out to be his painting. Ruan Yunhan understood. With Ruan Chen's handwriting being so messy, he couldn't possibly paint such a picture.
The curtain was lowered, and Ruan Yunhan opened the picture she had just taken on her phone, zooming in to examine the details closely.
The color scheme is bold, giving people a refreshing visual impact, but this impact is not harsh, but rather very soft. At first glance, it has the distinct style of the "Yu School", just like the painting was done by the master Yu Lei herself.
However, Yu Lei hasn't taken on any apprentices for many years; it must be an imitation, but the imitator has a very good understanding of the Yu school of painting style.
Ruan Yunhan pursed her lips, an idea rising uncontrollably in her mind.
She happened to have painting tools, so it wouldn't be difficult for her to make a copy of the painting and complete the unfinished parts. She could take advantage of the visit to ask her mother for help and advice.
Perhaps... this painting will catch the eye of Master Yu Lei.
Master Yu Lei had two disciples in her early years, but both of them founded their own schools and failed to inherit the mantle of the Yu school. Yu Lei is now over forty years old, and she must be anxious about not having a disciple to carry on the mantle.
If I were to visit her now, holding the painting in my hands...
Ruan Yunhan closed her phone, looked at the clouds outside the window, and began sketching a line drawing in her mind.
Outside the curtain, Bo Nian whispered to Ruan Chen, "Who's sitting over there?"
Ruan Chen put the painting into her portfolio, her tone ambiguous, and asked, "Is she pretty?"
Bo Nian hesitated for a moment before nodding, "She has a good temperament, but her eyes are a bit scary. When you bent down to pick something up, she looked down at you, and her eyes looked like she wanted to eat you alive."
"She's also participating in this final, and we're even staying at the same hotel. Be careful if you're going to face her."
Because there were so many people, the journey that would normally take nearly twenty hours was completed in the blink of an eye. Bo Nian and his group laughed and joked all the way, and Ruan Yu'er, being young and cute, became the darling of the group.
"Yu'er, when you give your report, just look at us. Your older brothers and sisters are all watching you from below, so there's nothing to be nervous about."
"After you finish talking, let's go shopping together."
“If you’re nervous, look into your brother’s eyes and imagine that you’re only talking to your brother and that no one else exists.”
The plane screeched on the runway before finally coming to a stop.
Ruan Chen groggily pulled off her blindfold, covered her mouth, and yawned.
arrive.
She was fast asleep and couldn't quite process what was happening. She sat on the sofa, feeling dizzy for a long time, until Ruan Luo pulled her up.
"Did you sleep too long?" Ruan Luo helped Ruan Chen lift her schoolbag—she didn't know what she had packed in it, it was so heavy.
Bo Nian and his group went downstairs with their luggage. Ye Huanhuan had already arranged a car to take the children to the hotel to check in.
Whether Ruan Yunhan was frightened by Ruan Chen's threat or was holding back some big move, she actually behaved herself and didn't cause any trouble along the way. It wasn't until Ruan Chen's classmates left that she lifted the curtain and came out.
She looked frail and looked at Ruan Luo with a resentful expression. "Little brother, can you help me carry my luggage?"
She brought five perfectly aligned 28-inch suitcases; I really have no idea what she brought.
Ruan Luo waved her hand apologetically, "I injured my back while I was suspended by wires a while ago, and the doctor said I can't overexert myself."
Ruan Yunhan bit her lower lip in grievance, dragging a suitcase down the gangway by herself with difficulty.
The Ye family's staff pretended not to see it, and not a single person offered a helping hand.
Ruan Yunhan was truly frail; she stumbled and dragged her suitcase for a few steps before becoming breathless.
Just then, a pair of strong hands reached out and easily lifted him up with one hand. "I'll do it. You go and wait in the car."
Ruan Yunhan's body stiffened, an expression of disbelief on her face. She looked up at the tall man in front of her, "Brother?"
Ruan Qin still came!
"Brother, I knew you wouldn't abandon me!"
Ruan Qin showed no joy at the long-awaited reunion. He coldly dodged Ruan Yunhan's hand that tried to wrap around his neck, and said in a perfunctory tone, "Dad sent me. Go to the car."
