Chapter 134 The Fool's Bride for Good Luck (9)

Chapter 134 The Fool's Bride for Good Luck (9)

Xie Rong glanced at the body that had been pulled up, then looked away indifferently.

The summer sun was too scorching, burning the back of his neck. Xie Rong held a round fan between his fingers to shield his face from the sun. "Let the police handle it, Zhao Tongguang."

Zhao Tongguang bowed his head and stepped forward, "Madam?"

"Let the deceased's family come and collect the body. It's hot, and it will start to rot if we wait too long."

Their wife has always been very clean, as all the servants in the old house know.

"Don't worry, Madam," Zhao Tongguang said calmly.

Xie Rong returned to the courtyard and quickly put the matter out of his mind.

When Zhao Tongguang entered the courtyard after dark, Xie Rong was having dinner with the idiot.

That's not quite right. It should be that the wife is eating while the fool sits by, grinning like an idiot, serving her.

"You're back?" Xie Rong glanced at him, then slowly scooped up a spoonful of refreshing mung bean soup and put it in his mouth.

The cicadas chirped incessantly in the courtyard, and the shadows of the trees fell on the window, swaying gently, overlapping with the sound of my heartbeat.

Zhao Tongguang stared at the shadows of the trees behind Xie Rong and said, "The police said it was an accidental fall into the water."

“Both of them accidentally fell into the water, but his life wasn’t tough enough,” Xie Rong touched the fool’s face and couldn’t help but pat it twice. “Isn’t that right? The fool’s life is the toughest.”

The fool lowered his head and rubbed his palm against the other's, grinning foolishly, "My wife isn't hard, she's soft."

Xie Rong's face darkened, and he slapped him across the face.

This idiot dared to curse him with a weak life; what's the difference between that and cursing him to die?!

Despicable men, even if they become stupid, they're still despicable men! They're all despicable men!

"No one is allowed to feed him tonight!" Xie Rong said angrily.

The servants were already used to this and silently cleared the food off the table.

"Aren't you leaving yet?" Xie Rong turned his head and glared at him.

Zhao Tongguang was still standing there when he pulled out a package wrapped in white paper from the loose sleeve of his long gown. “Seeing that my wife’s shampoo was almost finished, I bought a new one on the way back from the police station. It’s the brand she uses most often.”

Xie Rong's favorite shampoo was always out of stock. It was a high-end product that the wealthy ladies of Lizhou loved to use and was hard to find. However, he didn't like to use other shampoos. His thick, black hair was as smooth as silk. Even when he finally managed to buy it, he would use it up in just a few tries. He would always get angry about it, calling them idiots and the servants in the house useless for not being able to do such a simple thing properly.

When Old Master Lu was still alive, there was never a shortage of goods. No matter how hard it was to buy something, as long as the servants of the Lu residence went there, they could always get it.

"Butler Zhao is very kind," Xie Rong said, taking the item from his hand, unwrapping the yellowed white paper, and sniffing it. The fresh scent of oranges mixed with the rich sweetness acted like a calming agent, gradually easing the restlessness in his heart. "Go back and rest early, there's nothing for you to do here."

Zhao Tongguang nodded, turned and left, closing the door behind him.

Xie Rong turned to look at the fool. His anger had subsided, but a resentful rage remained. "Come here."

Fools are his punching bags.

The tall, strong man was covered in whip marks from being whipped, his long robe tattered and revealing his muscular body. He huddled silently in the corner, staring blankly at the large bed not far away with his dark eyes.

The large bed in the old house still retains its bed frame, and the light yellow bed curtains hang down, revealing hazy figures.

Faint breathing sounds could be heard from inside.

It's a mix of crying and cursing; it's never very pleasant.

His wife was always unhappy late at night.

During the day she would complain about him, scold him, and hit him. At night, when she was unhappy, she would wrap her snow-white arms around his neck, cry, and shrink into his arms. Sometimes she would hold his hand, sometimes she would hold his waist, and moan like a harlot.

The fool got up and walked over, lifting one leg of the bed curtains to look up at Xie Rong's trembling legs. He met a pair of heterochromatic eyes brimming with tears, and mumbled, "Wife, I'm hungry."

Xie Rong's unfocused pupils slowly focused, landing on the fool's face. "Come here."

The fool climbed onto the bed, grinning foolishly.

...

[Host, your body is becoming increasingly sensitive. Are you ill?] the system asked worriedly.

The scene in front of him was blocked, and the system couldn't see it. It only knew that Xie Rong was in pain all night long and had no choice but to let the fool treat him.

Xie Rong buried his head in the pillow, his silky black hair spread out on the bed. His eyelids were half closed, and sobs escaped from his swollen lips. His eyes and brows were filled with a wanton and infatuated look.

The fool's rough, hot palm was pressed against his waist.

Xie Rong's shoulders suddenly trembled. After resting for a moment, he said lazily, "That's all you're good for. If I hadn't finally found someone I liked who had died, I wouldn't need a fool like you."

The fool remained silent, obeying his every word and doing whatever he was told.

Xie Rong was so engrossed in pleasure that he didn't see the fool supporting his waist, lowering his head to kiss his shoulder blades, his dark eyes gradually turning cold and chilling.

...

A few days later, Xie Rong had completely forgotten about the servant who had drowned in the pond.

However, he disliked the fact that someone had died in the pond, so he had it filled in.

A garden without a pond is really not nice, so a few days later, Xie Rong had a pond dug again in the same spot.

The servants in the house were obedient and had no complaints. Xie Rong secretly sneered in his heart, thinking that they were all born to be lowly servants.

But repairing the pond wasn't enough; it was still bare and empty.

Xie Rong thought for a moment, then bought a few red carp and put them in the pond to raise.

As summer drew to a close, the sun remained scorching. Xie Rong ordered a pavilion to be built by the pond, where he often lay down to catch fish.

He carved a name for the pond: Xie Rong's Fish Pond.

“Madam, the doctor is already waiting in the courtyard,” the servant whispered outside the pavilion.

This morning, Xie Rong had no appetite. He drank half a bowl of porridge and then vomited it all up. When he stood up, his vision went black. He refused to see any foreign doctors, so the servants went to call the doctor from Huichuntang.

Xie Rong slowly walked back into the house, glanced at the young man waiting in front of the door, and raised an eyebrow.

"When did the doctors at Huichuntang become so young?"

The young man turned around, revealing a handsome and refined face.

He smiled at Xie Rong, "Madam, it's been many years since we last met. How have you been?"

Xie Rong rolled her eyes and pushed the door open with an annoyance: "I've already called a doctor, what do you think?"

When Xie Rong was young, he fell seriously ill. Liu Quan was extremely anxious, but he didn't have enough money to treat him. He was kicked out by the doctors at the foreign hospital. He was crying on the street with the little bundle of flesh in his arms when the old doctor from Huichuntang took Xie Rong back home.

Xie Rong stayed at Huichuntang for a month. The old doctor's son, Zhao Wenhong, was four years older than him. Because he was afraid of bitter medicine, he refused to take it and stayed with him for a month.

Later, Zhao Wenhong went abroad to study, and they lost contact with each other.

While taking the man's pulse, Xie Rong glanced at his legs and asked, "You studied abroad for four years, how come your leg is still lame?"
