☆, A sneak attack led to the usurpation of the throne.

Ye Xi had always felt that after meeting Wesker, she became unlike herself, or rather, she no longer fit the image she had maintained for the past few years since transmigrating. This was just too damn abnormal. Ye Xi gritted her teeth secretly. Anger or resentment, whatever, she could never feel at ease following this bastard!

No, I have to find a way to get as far away from him as possible. Damn it, if only I had a magnet stuck to Wesker's forehead so that like-sex magnets would repel each other and automatically move away when they get close. Why doesn't this body study physics properly and invent a "Wesker-proof magnet"? It would be a bestseller. I'm already an expert in chemistry and biology, would it kill me to study physics properly? It's making me so frustrated that I want to bang my head against the wall.

Although Wesker hadn't done anything to Ye Xi yet, and had even "kindly" broken her handcuffs, Ye Xi knew in her heart that she was still not free. Forget about opening the door and jumping out of the car; even rolling down the window a crack would be enough to send Wesker's piercing gaze stabbing her all over. Despite the pain of having her spine pierced, Ye Xi still rolled the window all the way down, propped her head up with one hand, and pretended to be nonchalantly looking at the scenery, pretending not to feel Wesker's warning gaze.

What a joke! We already tore off the mask back in Japan, do you think I'm afraid of you? You think I'll obediently become your little experimental subject just because you're trying to kill me with your little aura? Bullshit! Go ahead and bite me if you dare... Wait, Ye Xi remembered that scene from before, and realized that this guy actually tried to bite her, so she immediately changed it to—Go ahead and eat me if you dare... Wait, something still feels off... Maybe only "kill me" sounds more powerful?

However, for Ye Xi, who is afraid of death, this statement was inappropriate. She would only say such a thing when she was pushed to the limit and became enraged, but the consequences... well, everyone knows that Ye Xi still feels a lingering pain when she thinks about that punch to the stomach.

"Oh damn it, when and where did I, Ye Xi, become your property, little Wesker?! Damn it, you unlucky kid, have you lost your mind or what? You even have to control whether I want to die or not! Screw your experimental subject, screw your O virus, screw your sunglasses fetish, I curse all sunglasses in the universe to go extinct!" Just thinking about that punch, Ye Xi started cursing in her mind again. Of course, when you're under someone's roof, you have to bow your head. It was only because she had a slip of the tongue that she blurted out all those words and sprayed them all over Wesker's face.

"Close the window." After his threatening gaze failed, Wesker spoke, his harsh, cold voice carrying a hint of menace. Ye Xi, still sulking, paid no attention to the change in his tone—in fact, sometimes only Ye Xi could detect the subtle shifts in An Er/Wesker's icy voice—and upon hearing him directly forbid opening the window, she immediately exploded: "Damn it, you're being way too nosy! I won't, what are you going to do about it?"

As she spoke, Ye Xi glared defiantly at Wesker, her face radiating an infuriating arrogance. Although Wesker had put on his signature sunglasses, the opaque lenses seemed to have no effect whatsoever. Even without seeing his eyes, Ye Xi could still feel the chilling coldness and murderous intent emanating from his bloodshot eyes. That unsettling gaze caused Ye Xi's initial strong resolve to crumble. She pursed her lips, her mind already wavering, but she still stubbornly straightened her back—damn it, it's just a look, Ye Xi, don't you dare lose!

It felt like an eternity. Just when Ye Xi was about to give up, a sudden pull drew her into Wesker's arms, followed by a chilling sensation brushing past her head. A loud "clang" was heard as something collided with her. Everything happened so fast that Ye Xi, leaning against Wesker's strong chest, remained in a daze.

Wesker glanced coldly at the bullet that had hit the bulletproof window and fallen after he dodged it by tilting his head. His right hand remained on the back of Ye Xi's head, keeping her pressed tightly against him. Then another bullet pierced the air, its target still Ye Xi's head!

A violent killing intent and the smell of blood erupted from Wesker. He held Ye Xi tightly with one hand and gripped the steering wheel with the other. He turned his head slightly, and his eyes, which were covered by sunglasses, showed no change. However, the bullet, about the length of a little finger, stopped abruptly in mid-air as if it had hit an invisible wall. It stopped five centimeters behind Ye Xi's head and then fell from the sky, landing on Ye Xi.

Hit by something, Ye Xi finally came to her senses. Smelling the faint scent of blood and gunpowder lingering on Wesker, her sense of propriety inexplicably resurfaced. Her face flushed, and she struggled. "Hey, um... um... let me go! Wesker, what's gotten into you all of a sudden...?"

"Shut up." Wesker's cold voice carried a hint of suppressed anger, so obvious that Ye Xi had no choice but to stop struggling. Had he lost his mind? She didn't seem to have... done anything to make him angry...? "Close the window." Wesker released Ye Xi and commanded again.

Sensing his unusual mood, Ye Xi sat up immediately without saying a word. As soon as she turned around, she saw a strangely long, golden bullet stop a centimeter in front of her left eyeball before falling onto her again. Even if Ye Xi were slow to react, she knew what had happened this time. She immediately rushed to the window and rolled up to the windowsill. Just as she closed the window, another bullet rushed up, smashed through the window, and fell down.

Damn, bulletproof glass! No wonder Wesker closed the window; he'd already sensed something was wrong! And he chose this car back when he was still An'er. At first, Ye Xi thought he just thought it was cool, but now she realized he probably foresaw this whole mess! Couldn't he have just been more direct? "The...the government hasn't given up yet?!" Ye Xi immediately thought of the government's previous pursuit and connected this sniping attack to it.

Wesker said nothing, not even accelerating. "Something's not right..." Although Wesker didn't say anything, Ye Xi could tell she was wrong. She thought about it carefully. It seemed that the only ones with designs on her were the government and Umbrella. Could she have offended someone? Or had Wesker offended someone? No, the people Wesker "offended" should have been dealt with as potential threats long ago, so that was unlikely... Besides, those bullets seemed to be aimed at her, so if she had offended someone... Alice was a saint; she wouldn't kill her for abandoning her like that.

Wait a minute, Ye Xi looked down at the bullet lying on the ground. It seemed Wesker had used his powers to deflect it, so it still retained its original appearance. Ye Xi picked it up, and a red and white pattern immediately caught her eye… Her eyes widened involuntarily, and an image of Wesker lying heavily wounded in the rain flashed through her mind. A chill ran down her spine, and Ye Xi was startled by her own thought. She trembled in disbelief and said, “No…no way…Could it be that Wesker…you’ve been usurped?!”

Wesker remained silent, but the aura of violence emanating from him intensified, a more terrifying killing intent than ever before. This made Ye Xi realize that her almost impossible guess was actually... actually fucking true! God's red long johns! Which monster stole Wesker's position as the chief boss of the biohazard?! This is too fantastical!! If it's true, then that monster is even more... even more... than Wesker. As Ye Xi thought about it, she became increasingly frightened, and finally couldn't help but doubt the veracity of this information.

Calm down, Ye Xi. How can you doubt this psychopath who has tormented you a thousand times, both in reality and in this world? Given Wesker's ruthless nature, he's meticulous in everything he does, a series of interconnected schemes and plans. There's a high probability that this whole thing is fabricated. The fact that he was usurped is probably true; otherwise, why would he be taking her around like this instead of returning to the nearby Umbrella base? However, behind this so-called "usurpation," how many twists and turns, how many traps were set, how many people were betrayed—only Wesker himself probably knows. He might even have relinquished the fact of the "usurpation" himself.

...Hopefully that's the case, otherwise Ye Xi would be facing an opponent even more terrifying than Wesker, and that guy even intends to kill her...

"Hmph." A chilling snort snapped Ye Xi back to reality. She turned and cautiously glanced at the capricious big boss, swallowing hard—what was this guy trying to do with that terrifying laugh? Had he gone mad?... Damn it, Ye Xi, what the hell was wrong with you?! Ye Xi cursed herself inwardly, then glanced at Wesker again, even more certain of her earlier guess. Ye Xi was certain that although he was truly enraged, his fleeting, contemptuous smile was also real. What did that mean? It meant that everything was still damn well under Wesker's control.

After figuring it out, for reasons I don't know, Ye Xi couldn't help but relax—she'd be fine, and Wesker would be fine too, that's good, that's good... good my ass! Quickly cross out "Wesker will be fine too"—you're seeing things, you didn't see anything!

↑Daughter, don't try to fool the onlookers here! (picks nose)

Tsk, but that tricked "usurper" is really pathetic. He happily took over the throne, busied himself with it for most of the day, only to have Wesker say something like, "You stupid human/creature/XX, I tricked you, what are you so smug about?" All his achievements would vanish in an instant...

Ahem, I digress. Although Ye Xi knew that Wesker was in complete control, she still didn't know his ultimate goal. Even to catch a traitor, why go to such lengths? Unless… this matter was only partially true and not entirely under his control. However, to have gone this far, the "usurper" was truly admirable.

The attackers probably stopped when their sniping attempt failed, no longer attacking the car windows or tires—even the windows were bulletproof, so how could the tires be anything ordinary? What should they do next? Ye Xi pondered, looking at the bullet marks on the car window. However, she wasn't in a hurry. Why worry? Wesker was sitting right next to her, and besides, he still held most of the power in his hands. What did she need to worry about? She just needed to think about what Wesker planned next.

They're probably in the same boat now. Ye Xi, being "magnanimous," has temporarily put aside her prejudice against Wesker and decided to stay by his side for the time being—what a joke! There's a sharpshooter outside who's always looking for her life. Even with all her evolution, Ye Xi can't find his exact location. She wants to jump ship and go it alone? That's just asking for death!

For some reason, Ye Xi felt much safer with Wesker than outside. This inexplicable sense of security made her decide to shamelessly stick with him. What? What about all that (love-hate) drama from before? Oh dear, did they have any conflicts before? She didn't know anything about it... Hehehe...

For the sake of her little life, Ye Xi once again ate her morals like potato chips, chicken flavor, crunchy and delicious.

No matter how despicable and shameless Ye Xi's thoughts were at this moment, Wesker was in a very, extremely, particularly bad mood. She actually dared to plot against his things (emphasis added), even deluding herself into thinking she could take her life. Hmph, laughable. It seems that foolish Number 12 (Ye Xi actually guessed the correct title) really doesn't know the consequences of messing with his people (emphasis added)... Her life belongs to him, and only he can take it... Or perhaps... Wesker's eyes darkened, and the eyes behind his sunglasses instantly turned a deep red. Did Number 12 think this would achieve her goal?

Hehe, then let's do as he wishes and have some fun with him.

The air around Wesker suddenly became sharp, startling Ye Xi, who was lost in her thoughts—what was wrong with this guy now?! "Here it comes," he said in a low voice, then abruptly turned the steering wheel, crashing right into the car that had leaped down from the hill to their right and landed on their left. The precision was as if it had been calculated countless times. Then came a violent jolt, and if Ye Xi hadn't reacted immediately and grabbed the handrail, she would have been covered in bumps.

Looking in the rearview mirror, Ye Xi almost had a heart attack – putting aside how the large, deformed truck on the left side of the front of the car had emerged from the high ground on the right, just seeing the three creatures crawling out from behind that car was enough to make Ye Xi curse – Lickers! What the hell, why haven't those things disappeared yet?!

Author's Note: So Uncle Wei got angry because someone threatened his life with his things (picking nose). What a joke! Uncle Wei didn't even kill Ye Xi, so how could anyone else possibly get a chance? (picking nose) Waaaaah, university exams are so terrifying! I didn't listen in class, how can I not fail? Waaaaah, I hate memorizing, I hate advanced calculus! Waaaaah... So, although it's late, but... Happy New Year everyone!
