☆ Feeling anxious, slow progress
Author's Note: As a liberal arts student who has never passed biochemistry, I really can't write any more. If there are any unbelievable mistakes... hehe, just pretend you didn't see anything OJZ
Holy crap, a huge watermelon!
Ye Xi tried hard to control her strength to make sure she wouldn't accidentally crush the test tube in her hand. Please forgive her unseemly outburst of profanity; believe me, she's actually a civilized person, just unable to calm down right now.
She took a deep breath, shook the pale yellow solution in the test tube, and carefully placed it back on the test tube rack. She then glared at Wesker, who was calmly conducting the experiment as if nothing had happened, and unconsciously tightened the buttons on her large white coat.
How can this bastard be so calm now?! As the victim, Ye Xi was so angry that her teeth itched and her face flushed pink when she thought about what happened a few tens of minutes ago. Damn it, I have my principles and my chastity, you know?! I was born and raised in China, not as unrestrained as you American men, you know?!
Damn it, it's all Wesker's fault for ruining another slide! Ye Xi stared at the air bubbles in the slide, then irritably tossed it into the trash can. Having acquired the memories of that "Ye Xi," seeing herself make such a simple mistake—can't even make a proper slide—Ye Xi couldn't help but curse him inwardly again. If he hadn't done that thing earlier, making her so upset, she wouldn't have made such a basic error!
But the original culprit is now acting like nothing happened. How can she possibly accept this?!
"What the hell? It was working perfectly fine before, how come it doesn't work now?" Ye Xi rubbed her nose in annoyance. A few tens of minutes ago, when she realized what was happening, she wanted to use her ability to create a vine to whip Wesker away. Unfortunately, she couldn't do it. She still can't forget that feeling of powerlessness.
Ye Xi frowned. This wasn't the first time she'd felt something was wrong. Ever since Wesker smuggled her out of the government base, she'd noticed changes in her body, but she couldn't pinpoint what was happening. Damn this experimental subject status! Did he think she was just a guinea pig to do whatever he wanted with? Was experimenting on her body really that fun?!
She recalled what had happened a few tens of minutes earlier, and the anger in her eyes gradually turned into helplessness and desolation—after all, Albert Wesker was such a selfish person, wasn't he? You knew that all along, Ye Xi.
But knowing is one thing, accepting is another.
Just minutes before, she was comfortably asleep in bed, wearing that ill-fitting shirt, ready to fight Wesker to the bitter end with her silent treatment. Unfortunately, she lost before the battle even began.
Ye Xi awoke with a peculiar feeling. Only after waking did she realize what this strange feeling was—it was incredible to open her eyes and see those deep, blood-red eyes—Wesker was kissing her, a predatory kiss. Such an attack could easily cause someone with little experience to feel suffocated; this was one of the strange sensations.
A kiss is fine, it's not like we've never kissed before. Ye Xi has lost count of how many times he's violated her. But, I tolerated your wet kiss, but where are you putting your hands?! The pressure on my chest makes me feel like something's not right! And that feeling, no matter how much I try to convince myself, it won't go away. It's like we're not even wearing clothes!
Yes, that's the source of the second strange feeling. Wesker held Ye Xi in his arms, one hand reaching inside her clothes to knead her flat chest, the other pressing hard on her waist to make her press tightly against his body, while the hand on her waist was extremely restless.
What the hell is going on?! What kind of bizarre turn of events is this?!
Damn it, am I not only an experimental subject but also a tool for sexual gratification?!
What the hell!
Ahem, Ye Xi, you're a civilized person, a civilized person... even a civilized person wouldn't be very civilized upon opening their eyes to find themselves in this situation!
The incident was so horrifying that it took Ye Xi several seconds to recover. She tried to use her ability to slap the bastard away, but found she couldn't muster any power at all. Ye Xi was slightly taken aback, then struggled. However, Wesker seemed to have anticipated her actions, squeezing her tablet firmly before releasing her.
"You're finally awake." His voice was a little hoarse, but it quickly returned to its original coldness and indifference. "So, are you going to the lab, or staying in bed?" He looked at Ye Xi, whose face was slightly flushed, expressionless, as if nothing had happened.
Ye Xi naturally understood the meaning behind those words and blurted out without thinking, "Laboratory!"
“Very good.” Wesker nodded, picked up the white coat he had casually tossed on the ground and threw it on Ye Xi’s head, then walked out of the room without looking back.
What choice did she have? Wesker was just toying with her, his experimental subject! Ye Xi silently put on her coat and followed him barefoot.
Damn, this feeling was really unpleasant. Ye Xi's eyes darkened slightly as she stared at the rampant, invading cells under the microscope. Seeing them not even sparing their own kind finally captured her attention. Wesker hadn't told her what the research project was; he had simply handed her a portion of his work and demanded that she report any anomalies she discovered.
So Ye Xi didn't know exactly what she was supposed to do, or what she was looking for, but that didn't mean she couldn't use her imagination. Looking at the highly aggressive creature under the microscope, Ye Xi frowned slightly. She herself had absolutely no interest in doing experiments, but the memories in her mind calmed her down, and she unconsciously focused her attention on the experiment.
Is this... really a cell? The absence of a cell wall suggests it's from some kind of animal, and other aspects seem similar, but its cell membrane... looks like it's sprouting many legs... Wait a minute, Ye Xi seemed to have discovered something and immediately rotated the microscope to magnify it...
Virus! This isn't a cell, but a cell parasitized by a virus! What she initially mistook for a cell nucleus is actually a virus! This…
Ye Xi frowned even more deeply. Viruses had always been a sensitive topic for her, especially in a world like Resident Evil, with Wesker lurking beside her! Could this be a new virus developed by Wesker? No, that was unlikely. Given her status, it was impossible for her to be involved in researching a new virus, and it was also impossible for her help to be needed…
So… Ye Xi couldn't help but recall how Wesker had deliberately sent her to Alex, actually hoping to use her to locate Alex and take something from him. Considering the game's background, if Alex Wesker truly existed, then Ye Xi could boldly speculate that the data Alex had researched regarding the Progenitor Virus also existed, and that was exactly what Wesker wanted. However, Alex had destroyed it, which is why he brought back his brain.
This… couldn’t possibly be something from Alex’s brain, could it? It’s clearly something from his brain when it was being ravaged by the virus… Ye Xi thought to herself as she took out the slice and then pulled a test tube from the rack. Although it had been completely destroyed by the virus, there was still a way to find out if it had ever belonged to a human body.
Ye Xi knew that it would be faster to ask Wesker directly whether it belonged to Alex, but regardless of whether he would tell her or not, Ye Xi couldn't possibly say a word to him now because of what had happened before.
Not long after, Ye Xi looked at the experimental results. Although she had known this would happen, she couldn't help but feel a bit conflicted. Well, Wesker had indeed told her in the submarine that he planned to find the information he wanted through the brain. Although this method was very direct, and once the research was successful, the rest would be very simple, it was also very difficult. The difficulty was no less than directly studying the progenitor virus, even though direct research would be slower.
Wait a minute, Ye Xi realized she'd overlooked a crucial yet simple question—why did Wesker want this data on the progenitor virus? What would he use it for? To create a virus more suitable for humans? Or—from certain perspectives—why was he so desperate for this data? Ye Xi believed that with his abilities, he would eventually figure it out, so if she could do it herself, why did she need to ask her, the experimental subject, for help? Was he short on time?
Furthermore, Ye Xi couldn't help but think about another question: what exactly did he obtain in that government base?
Upon closer reflection, Ye Xi realized that she herself didn't understand Wesker at all, or rather, Wesker never allowed anyone to understand him. That's true; if anyone could understand Albert Wesker, he would have long since been utterly defeated in the cutthroat competition, leaving not even bones behind.
Thinking of this, Ye Xi couldn't help but look at the broad back of the man in the white coat. Wesker was very tall and muscular, so even in the clothes that researchers and scientists would wear, he didn't seem harmless at all. On the contrary, his back gave people a sense of security.
"A serious man is the most handsome..." This phrase suddenly flashed through Ye Xi's mind. Although Wesker didn't have a face that was breathtakingly handsome, he possessed a unique charm—cold and dangerous, coupled with his sharply defined, sexy, and tough-guy face—which was quite attractive...
"Cough cough, Ye Xi, what are you doing?!" Noticing Wesker turn around, Ye Xi guiltily turned her back to her, almost slapping herself. What are you daydreaming about? Have you forgotten what happened before? You spineless coward! Ye Xi mentally cursed her own eyes. "If you keep looking around, I'll gouge your eyes out!"
Wesker raised an eyebrow as he watched Ye Xi's retreating figure. He admitted that watching her conduct experiments was a pleasure; he had never seen such a focused glint in her eyes before, which was very captivating. He also knew that she had been staring intently at his back, a gaze he could clearly feel even without turning around.
However, while watching Ye Xi panic was quite amusing, time was of the essence. Once he resolved her health issues, he would have plenty of time to have some fun with her.
And so, with one side feeling awkward and the other temporarily ignoring the situation, the atmosphere in the lab became tense until Ye Xi yawned, rubbed her eyes, and asked for some sleep time.
"Damn it, isn't it past midnight already? How long have I been doing this backbreaking labor?" Ye Xi muttered, yawning again, and looking at Wesker, this tyrant, with some trepidation. This guy still looks incredibly energetic, so who knows if he'll approve it? If she weren't really sleepy, she wouldn't want to talk to him at all.
But, to everyone's utter disbelief, Wesker actually nodded in agreement! Ye Xi was somewhat incredulous, fearing he might change his mind, so she immediately opened the lab door and left. It wasn't until she returned to her room that she came to her senses—Wesker had actually agreed! Could there be some kind of conspiracy?
A conspiracy? Ye Xi was overthinking it. Wesker stared at the closed lab door, then glanced at his watch, his bloodshot eyes instantly turning cold… She'd only been here for three hours after waking up, and she was already sleepy… Besides, it was only four in the afternoon…
This progress is still too slow.
