Chapter Eighteen: Bad luck, another encounter with an unknown monster.

"Hmph, if you dare come, I'll fight you beasts to the death." Li Changge glared fiercely at the two dark green pythons.

But it's completely useless; it will only make the python think you're provoking them.

So the two large creatures rushed towards Li Changge at an even faster speed.

Holy crap!

Li Changge was so scared he wet himself on the spot; his cleverness backfired.

Li Changge was terrified and quickly climbed upwards.

Between life and death, a person's potential can often be fully unleashed.

Li Changge estimated that it would take another ten minutes or so to climb the last few steps.

But under the pressure of life and death, Li Changge quickly dug a hole and climbed up.

In just three minutes, Li Changge reached the top of the hill!

"Hiss hiss hiss."

After seeing Li Changge go up, the two giant pythons stopped their pursuit, as if the area above was a forbidden zone for them.

The giant python slowly retreated to its resting place.

"call!"

Li Changge was breathing heavily, his back completely soaked with sweat.

Li Changge breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the giant pythons had not chased after him.

After resting for a while, Li Changge stood up again and carefully observed the surrounding environment.

He was in an open space, with the trees around him not as dense as those below, allowing sunlight to stream in freely.

"It's pitch black below, but brightly lit above? What does that mean?" Li Changge frowned.

Logically speaking, the woods below should be much more open than where he is now, and the sunlight should be able to shine through them.

But Li Changge felt that the sunlight seemed to be stuck there, which made him feel a little strange.

As Li Changge pondered, he walked forward, stopping to examine each large tree he passed carefully.

After that, when he reached the middle section, Li Changge suddenly remembered a detail.

“These trees all seem to have one thing in common.” Li Changge glanced at the trees beside him and then quickly walked back.

"As expected." Li Changge said with an air of matter-of-fact.

Li Changge discovered that these trees all had one thing in common: they were all carved with the shape of a small green calf. Although it was very small, Li Changge still managed to capture it.

"What does the calf pattern represent? Could it be that a cow lives on this island? Or is this the lair of a monster cow?" Li Changge thought his idea was extremely absurd.

But upon closer reflection, it does make some sense.

"It seems we have to keep going to find the truth." Li Changge looked at the trees in front of him that resembled a road.

Strangely enough, the trees above did not grow haphazardly, but stood like guardians by the roadside, seemingly intentionally guiding those who came.

"I don't care about the truth, I just want to find the crack and get out of here." Li Changge gritted his teeth and forced himself to continue.

Because the sunlight here is very bright, Li Changge doesn't need to be too vigilant, as the light provides him with maximum protection.

Li Changge's left hand, gripping the trident, was almost bleeding from being squeezed so tightly, yet he hadn't encountered any creatures along the way.

And so, we successfully passed through the wooded path.

"Damn, where am I again?" Li Changge walked through the woods and then came face to face with a large lake with a diameter of three kilometers.

The lake was surrounded by trees, with a small protrusion in the middle, but Li Changge was too far away to see it clearly.

But this lake had already given Li Changge a very strong visual impact.

"If this place was formed naturally, that would be amazing," Li Changge exclaimed.

Who is it?

brush!

There was some movement in the woods to his left, which instantly caught Li Changge's attention. He immediately held his trident horizontally in front of him, ready to fight at any moment.

"Gah."

With a quack, an ordinary duck looked at Li Changge with a puzzled expression before jumping into the lake and swimming towards its depths.

"Phew, that startled me."

But before Li Changge could finish speaking, hundreds or even thousands of ducks suddenly darted out of the surrounding woods.

The squeaking sound made Li Changge's expression change.

It's so noisy.

But that wasn't all. The ducks in the woods seemed endless; there were probably more than a thousand that passed by Li Changge.

What do they want to do?

Li Changge was very puzzled. These ducks seemed to have a purpose. After entering the water, they rushed to swim towards the small island in the center of the lake.

It was as if something above them was attracting them.

"Something's not right." Li Changge's eyes darted around, and he found a very secluded corner of the woods to hide in.

He wanted to see what the ducks were up to.

Countless ducks swam towards the center of the lake, and even a lake with a diameter of three kilometers was about to be taken over by the duck army.

This made Li Changge's scalp tingle.

"If it were a person, they probably couldn't withstand such a terrifying duck attack."

As soon as Li Changge lay down, a strange change occurred on the small island in the center of the lake.

Knock knock knock!

A series of loud bangs exploded in Li Changge's ears, forcing him to cover them.

But what happened next was something Li Changge would never forget.

Crackling sounds rang out as the rocks shattered.

A rushing, surging sound arose.

At this moment, the lake looked as if it had been hit by the strongest typhoon.

Countless ducks were buried by the surging waves, but they were like madmen, unmoved by the death of their companions, and still swam towards the small island in the lake.

But at this moment, the small island in the lake suddenly rose into the air, and all the ducks that reached the island were overturned.

But what's most chilling is that two enormous eyeballs are protruding from beneath the island.

"Holy crap, am I seeing things? Those are two eyeballs?" Li Changge quickly lay down, his heart pounding wildly.

At that moment, he seemed to see some incredible motivation.

The disturbances in the lake continued and grew louder, with the overflowing water splashing onto Li Changge.

This is enough to show how big the commotion was.

Li Changge quietly parted a leaf, wanting to continue observing the situation in the lake.

The island in the lake continued to rise, and the eyeballs beneath it gradually revealed their true form.

The figures below the island were faintly visible, temporarily concealed by the lake water.

But in the lake, one can vaguely see a monster with a bull's head and a snake's body slowly opening its huge mouth, waiting for the ducks to jump in.

As if finding their home, the duck flock rushed upstream along the lake, plunging into the gaping maw of the abyss.

"Can I be that unlucky? Not only did I run into a saber-toothed leopard, but I also encountered another monster feeding?" Li Changge felt like crying.

He's just an ordinary person, and all he encounters are people he can't handle. It's truly heartbreaking.

"Should I wait for the crack to open so I can go back on my own? I'm leaving now." Li Changge had only one thought in his mind.

run!

Run!

The strength of this bull-headed, snake-bodied monster was unknown, so Li Changge could only run.

"Moo!"

Just as he was about to retreat, the monster let out a warning sound!
