The Poké Ball under Li Changge's feet was a Water-type Poké Ball.
"It's only been about a week, right? Old Zi has already absorbed all the energy from the Heart of the Ocean?"
Li Changge muttered to himself.
In the novels he read, the protagonists' mounts were all incredibly powerful, and they would spend at least a month in seclusion.
But now...
Reality and fiction differ somewhat.
Then, Li Changge picked up the agitated Poké Ball, threw it forward, and shouted:
"Come out, Azure Bull Python."
clang!
With a soft click, the Poké Ball opened in mid-air, emitting a blue light.
"Moo!"
The light disappeared, and a purple beast with a bull's head and a snake's body appeared on the deck.
"Old Zi seems to have gotten even more purple."
Li Changge raised an eyebrow and muttered something to himself.
The moment Lao Zi landed, he pounced on Li Changge.
With such speed, he tackled Li Changge to the ground.
"Ouch."
Li Changge was pressed onto the deck by Lao Zi, letting out a painful groan. He felt as if he had been crushed by a mountain, and he couldn't breathe at all.
"Let go... let go, I can't take it anymore."
Li Changge's face was flushed red, even turning purple, making people wonder if he might suddenly die at any moment.
Old Zi was so excited to see the light of day again that he was completely oblivious to Li Changge's strange behavior and continued to be affectionate with the latter.
"I'm...I'm dying."
Even with the super-strong gloves on, Li Changge couldn't push the crack open, which shows just how severe it was.
In his dying moments, Li Changge sadly thought of something:
He may be the first survivor in history to be killed by his own beast.
"Bah, bah, bah!"
Seeing that its master was in bad shape, Crack panicked and shouted, even kicking him.
Thud, thud, thud!
After the first two tickling blows, the third kick, bursting with all its strength, kicked Lao Zi off the boat.
"Cough cough cough."
Li Changge clutched his neck, breathing heavily.
We were finally saved.
...
"Old Zi, do you realize you're wrong?"
Li Changge and Lie Kai stood in front of Lao Zi, their expressions serious.
Ten minutes ago, Lao Zi climbed out of the ocean, and Li Changge began to lecture him, scolding him for ten minutes straight without repeating a single line.
"Waaaaah."
Old Zi was so scolded that he didn't even dare to lift his head.
While educating Lao Zi, Li Changge was also observing him.
Since absorbing the energy of the shattered Heart of the Ocean, Lao Zi's body has not only grown larger, but his height has also reached Li Changge's chest.
Moreover, considering Old Purple's immense strength in the past...
Old Zi's strength has reached a new level!
"Ahem, Lao Zi, how's your strength now?"
Li Changge coughed twice and asked the question he was most concerned about.
"Moo!"
"Perfect level".
The system translated.
Holy crap!
Overwhelmed with excitement, Li Changge hugged the split bull's head and laughed wildly.
"As expected of a mutant, its strength increases very quickly."
Li Changge was overjoyed.
Now that he has two perfect-level exotic beasts protecting him, as long as he keeps a low profile, which island can't he go to?
Li Changge instantly realized that the timely exit from seclusion after the crack had been of great help to him.
"Bah! Bah! Bah!"
The rapid three-part scream pulled Li Changge back to reality.
"What's wrong?"
Li Changge looked at the crack, and the latter pointed him in a direction.
Li Changge stared intently ahead, only to see that the sea had turned a different color.
"Completely red, what is that?"
"Bah!"
The crack continued to cry out, its anxious expression revealing its contempt for Li Changge.
Li Changge frowned and squinted; now he could see clearly.
But what he saw shocked him completely.
"Holy crap? This is an island? A fiery red island?"
Li Changge's mouth dropped open, his eyes wide with astonishment.
The surprise wasn't about the island itself, but rather why an island would suddenly appear in the first place.
Li Changge had been in this area for two or three days, spending his days fishing and swimming, and was very familiar with it.
But now, right under his nose, a fire-attribute island has appeared out of nowhere.
It's terrifying to think about.
It was evening, and the red light emanating from this fire-attribute island seemed even more sinister.
Li Changge rubbed his eyes, confirming that the fire-attribute island was not far away, about a five or six-minute drive away.
Should we go?
Li Changge kept considering it in his mind.
He had no experience landing on the island at night, but based on his knowledge of fire-attribute islands, the creatures there were fierce and warlike, and he could easily get himself killed there at night without good visibility.
But each island is a rich resource, and these islands that appear out of nowhere are highly uncertain.
It may still be here tonight, but it might be gone tomorrow.
At this moment, two little figures were fighting in Li Changge's mind.
"go!"
"I'm not going."
He paced back and forth on the deck for several minutes, then gritted his teeth and finally made a decision.
"Set sail!"
In the end, Li Changge was won over by the abundant resources.
"Moo!"
"Bah!"
The two strange beasts also became excited and followed Li Changge into the control room.
Li Changge turned the rudder, and the small boat headed towards the fire-attribute island.
"Follow my rhythm, charge!"
………
Compared to a raft, a boat has a clear advantage. Even if a raft sees an island, it cannot actively go there. Relying on a pair of oars, it would take until next year to reach the island.
