There's a trap in Chapter 460.

"Karl, Keanu, you two go ahead."

Upon hearing this, the two black men, Carl and Keanu, immediately paused, looking at Jeros with wary eyes.

This person has been leading the way all along, so why would he suddenly ask me to take the lead now?

Although Old Black's IQ is the lowest among the three races, he's not so stupid as to not see through this trick.

They weren't familiar with Jeros to begin with, and while they did promise to do whatever he said when they teamed up, they would definitely run away the moment something happened.

"Why do you want us to go first? What are you trying to do?"

"We're here to cooperate with you, not to be your subordinates."

Seeing how wary the two were, Jeros laughed instead of getting angry.

"Cooperation? Are you kidding me? Without me, do you four think you can kill Ye Feng and win the grand prize?"

I'd be grateful if I could just stay alive, right?

If it weren't for me leading you guys, believe me, you would have been killed by those mercenaries by now.

In their eyes, Ye Feng was a prey they were determined to get.

And you are nothing more than competitors trying to take a share of their profits.

Karl and Keanu exchanged a glance. Although Gerald's words were harsh, they were indeed true.

Only those who participated in the encirclement and kill were eligible to receive the grand prize; these people were utterly powerless against the well-trained mercenaries.

Carl gave him a disgruntled look, muttering under his breath…

"Aren't you a mercenary too? Why are you calling others..."

"What did you say!?"

Jeros roared and stared straight at him with wide eyes.

Carl trembled with fear; he was just an unknown nobody who had just been released from prison.

I heard that people only sign up for this show because they're paid to do so. They may have blood on their hands, but compared to Jeros, who has killed countless people…

He's like a kindergarten baby...

"Alright, alright, I'll tell you the truth."

Jeros waved his hand and pointed to the thickets of thorns on both sides of the grass not far away.

"I'm mainly worried that someone might be hiding inside and trying to ambush us. You guys go ahead..."

Mark and I kept an eye on both sides to ensure everything went smoothly; it was all for the team.

Hearing this, the two of them forced a smile, half believing it.

"Oh, I see. Okay, okay, let's go ahead then."

The six people then resumed their journey, the two at the front still unaware…

Jeros and Mark, who were behind them, kept following in their footsteps.

Jeros wasn't sure if there were any ambushes or traps here, but the terrain was so strange that it was always better to be careful.

Meanwhile, Carl and Keanu were also proceeding cautiously, their attention focused on the thorn bushes on either side.

However, they overlooked the fact that the real danger came from under their feet.

Soon, after walking for more than ten meters, the thicket of thorns became less dense.

It's so clear that you can see right through it, something Tibetans simply can't do.

They then realized that there was no ambush and that Jeros had been overthinking things.

Faced with the pursuit of 47 people, why would Ye Feng foolishly hide in a thicket full of thorns?

The two quickened their pace and emerged from the weeds in less than a minute.

But as soon as they took a step, they suddenly felt a sense of weightlessness.

The grass under my feet... was hollow?

The two fell face-down into the pit. Jeros and Mark reacted quickly, trying to pull them out, but it was too late.

"Ouch!..."

Karl's heart-wrenching screams immediately rang out.

This is a large, circular pit, nearly two meters deep, with sharp wooden splinters.

Keanu Reeves was pierced by seven or eight splinters in his upper body, even his face was pierced, and he died instantly.

Karl, on the other hand, reacted quickly and only had three splinters embedded in his thigh, which did not pierce through.

It turns out that Keanu was the one who triggered the trap first when they were falling.

Carl was a beat behind, so he placed his hands on Keanu's shoulders.

That's why he wasn't seriously injured.

Jeros and Mark immediately reached out and pulled him up.

Seeing Karl still screaming in pain, Jeros kicked him impatiently.

"What are you yelling about?! It's just a few minor injuries, stop screaming like a bitch!"

He pulled the splinter out of Karl's leg in one swift motion, causing Karl to howl in pain once more.

But when he noticed some small black particles stuck to the tip of the thorn, he realized that someone must have deliberately smeared something on it.

I took a sniff, and apart from a slight stench, it didn't seem to be anything poisonous.

"this……"

Mark, who was standing to the side, naturally noticed something amiss and was about to speak when Jeros raised his hand to interrupt him.

"It's nothing, it's just some mud."

That's what they said, but they knew very well that the thorns were covered by the turf, so how could they possibly get mud on them?

He said this only to avoid affecting Karl's mindset; he didn't have time to find herbs for the wounded right now.

He glanced at the two white men behind him and gave instructions:

“Pierre, Carey, you two go and strip Keanu’s clothes off, tear them into strips and bandage him up.”

Without saying much, the two immediately got to work.

"Jeros, something's not right here. It's perfect for setting traps. Should we change routes?"

Mark made a serious suggestion, but Jeros waved his hand.

“Ye Feng and the others are on the run, so they probably won’t dig too many traps. Go and cut a few sticks, and we’ll use them to walk.”

"good!"

A dozen minutes later, the five people resumed their journey.

Now that they were certain there were no ambushes around, Jeros and Mark went ahead this time.

It wasn't that they had a change of heart; they were mainly afraid that if too many people died, they wouldn't be able to defeat Ye Feng even if they caught up with him.

The remaining three still have value, so we cannot reduce their numbers too much at the moment.

However, the two clearly underestimated Ye Feng. They hadn't taken more than a few steps forward when their walking sticks tore up a patch of grass.

I thought it was another trap, but when I lifted it up, it was just a small pit less than 30 centimeters deep, and there were no splinters inside.

All five of them were puzzled. What did Ye Feng mean by this?

What purpose could such a small pit, no bigger than a washbasin, serve?

However, Gerald didn't think too much about it. It was almost evening, and they had to find a campsite quickly.

The nights in the Amazon can be extremely dangerous.

So, they all sped up a bit, and within a few minutes, they found five traps in a row.

Without exception, they were all small pits.

Jeros gradually became agitated, and only then did he realize that Ye Feng was trying to mislead him.

In reality, there was only one real trap; the other small pits were just illusions Ye Feng used to confuse them and slow them down.

"Damn it! That damn yellow-skinned brat! He dared to play me!"

Realizing he had fallen into a trap, Gerald quickened his pace again.

What he didn't know was that Ye Feng had already anticipated his prediction.
