The stream was still rushing, and Xu Xin still could not see anything unusual at the bottom of the stream.
He placed the wild boar carcass in his backpack by the stream and tentatively called out to the water, "Brother Crocodile?"
The stream immediately reacted. The giant crocodile that served as the bottom of the stream stood up from the water and opened its mouth wide in the direction of Xu Xin, as if to say hello.
It seems that this crocodile has already regarded him as an acquaintance.
"Hmm!" Coco also greeted the crocodile. The Silver King, who was originally a little afraid of crocodiles, was no longer afraid of crocodiles after the mutation. But Mimi beside him arched his body, raised his tail, and his fur stood up, and he made threatening hissing sounds at the crocodile.
"Okay Mimi, this is one of us, there's no need to do this." Xu Xin was a little afraid that the crocodile would be angry, so he quickly stopped Mimi's provocative behavior.
Hearing that it was one of their own, Mimi gradually returned to normal, but she stayed away from the shore and did not get any closer.
The crocodile didn't react to the little guy breathing out, but just looked at Xu Xin.
"Brother Crocodile, I came here today to ask you for a favor. This is a gift for you." Xu Xin pointed to the wild boar carcass by the stream. The wild boar that had just been hunted was still bleeding and looked very fresh.
The crocodile twisted its head and moved its huge head to the edge of the stream. It bit the wild boar into its mouth, chewed it twice, and swallowed it directly. Although Xu Xin didn't know how the crocodile ate, every time he came, the crocodile seemed to be hungry.
"Brother Crocodile, have you ever been to the lake downstream of this stream?"
The crocodile's huge head nodded to indicate that it had been there.
Xu Xin was incredibly thrilled that such a massive monster could understand and respond to him. He took a breath to calm himself and continued, "There's a group of piranhas in the lake right now. Their range is expanding. I'm afraid they'll soon take over the entire lake, and even this stream. So, I've come here to ask you for a favor and clear them out."
The crocodile understood what Xu Xin meant and made a softer sound.
"Hmm!" Coco gestured on Xu Xin's shoulder.
Xu Xin understood what Keke meant, and his eyes lit up: "You mean, you agree?"
"Roar." The crocodile roared again, and this time there seemed to be a question in the roar.
Xu Xin truly couldn't understand what they were saying, and he rubbed his head in frustration. He'd come into contact with so many intelligent beasts now that they could understand him, but he couldn't. He wished he could finally learn the ability to speak animal language.
Keke gestured to him for a long time before Xu Xin could figure out what it was gesturing.
"Is this gesture about a snake? Could it be that you're asking if the giant anaconda in the center of the lake is there?"
The crocodile nodded slightly.
This crocodile actually knew about the giant anaconda in the lake! The giant monsters in this world are surprisingly connected. The crocodile doesn't show a red dot on the map, while the anaconda does. This actually means that although the crocodile and the anaconda are both giant beasts, they are not on the same side, and are likely enemies.
"No, the giant anaconda only appeared once when the wild beasts rioted. Then it went deep into the center of the lake and disappeared, leaving behind only a lake full of piranhas." Xu Xin told the crocodile the truth.
Xu Xin felt the crocodile's eyes widen slightly, and then it let out a cry.
Coco continued translating, and Xu Xin understood that it agreed.
"Beautiful!" Xu Xin exclaimed inwardly, and outwardly showed a delighted expression. "That's great, Brother Crocodile, let's go over there now! Let's get rid of the piranhas. If they continue to expand, I'm afraid the creek will be taken over by piranhas!"
The crocodile signaled Xu Xin to lead the way, and Xu Xin immediately rode on the wolf king.
He glanced back and saw a huge, deep pit where the Deinosuchus had risen. That was where the Deinosuchus lay. The stream was temporarily cut off, and the water continued to gather in the pit, filling it up before continuing to flow downwards.
At first, he was moving very slowly, fearing that the Deinosuchus behind him would not be able to catch up. But the giant crocodile behind him kept moving forward, no matter how fast Xu Xin ran. Only then did Xu Xin realize that his size meant he could move quickly. Even Usain Bolt, among ants, couldn't catch up with a strolling human.
Of course, this metaphor is a bit exaggerated. The size difference between him and Deinosuchus is not as big as that between ants and humans.
Xu Xin confidently let Silver King run at full speed. Behind them came the sound of rapid splashing water and heavy footsteps. The giant crocodile took off and followed closely behind them.
Soon, they arrived at the edge of the lake.
"Brother Crocodile, look, those are the piranhas." Xu Xin pointed to the group of blood-red fish swimming around in the center of the lake. Now, the swimming range of these fish is larger than a few days ago. I am afraid that within ten days, they will occupy the entire lake.
Before Xu Xin could say anything more, the crocodile walked directly into the lake. The water at the lakeside was relatively shallow, and the crocodile was moving forward. But as it moved forward, the lake seemed to suddenly become deeper. Xu Xin finally saw that the crocodile was no longer walking, but was swinging its limbs and tail and swimming in the lake.
The water was so clear that Xu Xin could barely make out the crocodiles swimming through the ripples. This was his first time seeing a swimming crocodile. Besides the crocodiles in the lake in the hilly resource area, he had only seen them in zoos before, lazily lying on the shore, never swimming.
If it weren't for today's scene, Xu Xin even thought that crocodiles could only move in shallow water areas.
