Chapter 652: Capture a survivor from a thousand years ago and ask him questions

"You know, these aren't stories I made up. They're all written by my sister. She loves writing stories and is a columnist for some 'Fiction Weekly'."

After saying this, he turned sideways, spread his hands towards the foreign guest, and said with a bright smile:

“It seems she writes really well.

"I'm sorry for causing you to misunderstand."

The ordinary-looking man in a brown tweed jacket didn't get angry. He stood up and responded with a smile:

“It’s a very interesting story.

"What's your name?"

"Isn't it common sense to introduce yourself before asking someone a question?" Lumian smiled.

The guest from outside the city nodded:

"My name is Ryan Coss.

"These two are my companions, Valentine and Leah."

The latter sentence refers to a man and a woman sitting next to them.

The man was about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, with yellow hair dusted with powder, and eyes that were not too big but a shade darker than lake blue. He was wearing a white vest, a blue tweed jacket, and black trousers, and had obviously dressed up carefully before going out.

He looked rather indifferent and hardly looked at the farmers and herdsmen around him.

The woman appeared to be younger than the two men, with long, light grey hair tied into an intricate bun and a white veil as a hat.

Her eyes were the same color as her hair, and she looked at Lumian with an undisguised smile, seeming to find what had just happened only amusing.

Under the light of the tavern's gas wall lamps, the woman named Leah showed off her pretty nose and beautifully curved lips. She was definitely a beauty in a rural village like Cordu.

She was wearing a white, pleat-free cashmere tight skirt, an off-white jacket, and a pair of Marseille boots. Two small silver bells were tied to her veil and boots respectively. When she walked into the tavern just now, the bells jingled all the way, attracting a lot of attention and making many men stare at her.

In their eyes, this is a fashionable style that can only be found in big cities like the provincial capital Bigor and the capital Trier.

Lumian nodded to the three outsiders.

"My name is Lumian Lee. You can just call me Lumian."

"Li?" Leah blurted out.

"What's wrong? Is there something wrong with my last name?" Lumian asked curiously.

Ryan Koss helped Leah explain:

"Your last name is terrifying. I almost couldn't control my voice just now."

Seeing the puzzled expressions of the farmers and herdsmen around him, he further explained:

"Anyone who has come into contact with sailors and merchants knows that there is a saying circulating on the five seas:

"I would rather encounter those pirate generals or even kings than meet a man named Frank Lee.

"That person's last name is also Li."

"Is he scary?" Lumian asked.

Ryan shook his head:

"I don't know, but since there is such a legend, it must be good."

He dropped the topic and said to Lumian:

"Thank you for your story, it's worth a drink, what would you like?"

"A glass of 'Green Fairy'." Lumian sat down again without any hesitation.

Ryan Cos frowned slightly and said:

"'Green Fairy'...absinthe?

"I think I need to remind you that wormwood is harmful to the human body. This wine may cause mental disorder and make you hallucinate."

"I didn't expect that the fashion trend in Trier has spread here." Leah next to her added with a smile.

Lumian said, "Oh!"

"It turns out that people in Trier also like to drink 'Green Fairy'...

"For us, life is hard enough without any need to worry about a little more damage. This kind of wine can help us relax our spirits."

"Okay." Ryan sat back down and looked at the bartender. "One glass of 'Green Fairy' and one glass of 'Spicy Heart'."

"Laxinkou" is a famous fruit liquor.

"Why don't you give me a glass of Green Fairy too? I just told you the truth, and I can even tell you everything about this kid!" The skinny middle-aged man who first exposed Lumian's daily storytelling shouted in dissatisfaction. "Outlander, I can see you still doubt the truth of that story!"

"Pierre, you'd do anything for a free drink!" Lumian shouted back.

Before Ryan could make a decision, Lumian added:

"Why can't I tell it myself, so I can have an extra glass of 'Green Fairy'?"

"Because they don't know whether to believe what you said." The middle-aged man named Pierre smirked. "Your sister's favorite story to tell the children is 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf.' People who always lie will inevitably lose their credibility."

"Okay." Lumian shrugged and watched the bartender push a glass of light green wine in front of him.

Ryan looked at him and asked:

"May I?"

"No problem, as long as your wallet is enough to pay for the wine." Lumian didn't care.

"Then have another glass of 'Green Fairy'." Ryan nodded.

Pierre's face suddenly lit up with smiles:

“Generous stranger, this boy is the most mischievous prankster in the village, you must stay away from him.

"Five years ago, his sister Aurora brought him back to the village and he never left. Think about it, he was only thirteen years old before that. How could he possibly be working as a bodyguard in a hospital? Well, the nearest hospital to us is in Darriege, down the mountain. It takes a whole afternoon to walk there."

"Take it back to the village?" Leah asked sharply.

She tilted her head slightly, making a tinkling sound.

Pierre nodded.

"Then, he took Aurore's surname, 'Li', and even his given name, 'Lumian', was chosen by Aurore."

"I've forgotten what it was originally called." Lumian said with a smile after taking a sip of absinthe.

It seems that he has no sense of inferiority or shame about his past being exposed in this way.
